Excellent conversation. Thanks, I really enjoyed it. NCT has made sense to me for a long time now.

Thank you so much brother, it was an informative conversation, I was especially blessed by your discussion on the law towards the end of the interview, it clarified some issues for me. Please have Doug back on soon if you're able to! 🙂

Do you have more resources on NCT? If you don't, I want to encourage you to do more, very helpful! Thank you both!

I just found this RU-vid channel today. This is a good interview. I’m a little confused on the 7th distinctive of NCT that he reads in the book. I’ve read elsewhere that NCT sees Israel as typological of Christ and the Church by extension. From what I understand, a future in-gathering of Israel and literal land promise fulfillment are still debated within NCT. This seems to contradict the statement that the Church is eschatological Israel. Would a view that holds to a now fulfillment through the Church and a not yet fulfillment through Israel be more in-line with NCT or Progressive Dispensationalism? Maybe a better question is, what’s the difference between a Premillennial New Covenant Theologian and a Progressive Dispensationalist?

I think its possible to see a future ingathering of ethnic Jews and still recognize the new covenant church as eschatological "Israel" (the true seed of Abraham). I'm not sure of all the distinctives between PC/PD, I would need to investigate that further. I appreciate you listening and for all the encouragement. There is a 4 views book out which includes PC and PD which you might be interested in. Blessings!

@@ConversationswithaCalvinist Thank you for the explanation. I’ll have to look for that book, although I’m not great at reading books. Most of my reading is online.

Interesting conversation. To me, this just shows the amazing imagination and rumination that we humans are so great at.

I disagree, a Jew may, in fact interpret correctly, though they reject Jesus as Messiah. There is one interpretation of the OT. So, the NT didn't transform, but fulfilled.

No, the ten commandments are the commands of God that the writers of the NT referred to 23 times in their teaching, and was understood by their audience.
