I'd love to see what you do with the green and the navy shadows, I'm actually considering picking up the navy as a liner because I'm really loving Brun used that way. I have Brun and Studio, and it's still way early to tell but Studio may dethrone my holy grail MAC Groundwork, the color undertone is a little more flattering for me. Tap a little Revlon Praline on top and it turns it into a satin finish. It will be really interesting to see where they go with their overall line, I think the thing I most admire about them is they seem to be taking their time and being thoughtful with what they release. As my makeup collection gets smaller and smaller I feel like Merit may start to become one of my heavy hitter brands.

I bought that beautiful navy (if you could do another video on the darker shades that would be AWESOME) and although the color is stunning, I’m finding it very patchy. It’s in a bag to be returned but maybe I’ll wait and see if you can do anything with it before I do! 🤗 I tried finger and brush application and when you try to layer to “repair” the patchy situation it just gets worse! 🤦🏻‍♀️I wound up having to layer some powder shadow on top to be able to leave the house!

I’ve been trying to work with the Viper shade and also finding it much harder to work with than the others. I’ve tried with a brush and my finger, by itself, with other shades, and it just wants to skip and patch up. Not so with the other 2 shades I got, Midcentury and Social. Viper is much stiffer and dryer than the others.

I know you used multiple to show us the colors and, of course, there are no rules in makeup! But also, as I understand it, these were created as more of a one and done product rather than to layer on top of each other. These look like what I’ve been looking for but I just stocked up on Smashbox always on cream shadows in the squeeze tubes. So I’ll wait for a sale.

I think I’m the odd man out with Merit. Aging skin (55) and their cover stick made a cake on my eyes after 5 min, had to remove all my make up and start over it was so bad. It was minimally applied, Def no Merit fan here.

I’m 40 and always had oily skin, but now have more normal. I agree. I mean, It’s not cakey on me just yet, but it can be if don’t moisturize well enough. I was at an estate sale with the founder (Katherine Power) and I remember glancing at her face and thinking that is she thinks she knows what “mature skin” is, she’s got a few years to understand what that means. I think she’s my age actually lol

Hi Shelbey. The shadows look great on you. I ordered Social and Midcentury. Midcentury is exactly what I expected. Social, on the other hand, looks brown on me. Not a drop of purple or mauve. I have a light neutral leaning cool complexion. Your swatches look mauve...it looks mauve on your eyes. I don't get it. 🤔

I can get this look with LM sticks Blossom and Cashmere, with or w/o Amethyst and zero creasing. It's my go-to when I'm in a hurry. Love this look on you 😍and for my hazel eyes🤌

I wanted so badly to add some more of the mauve shade to the crease of your ( I think it would be your right eye my left side - I can never tell if you or anyone filming is mirroring me or what? lol) but it looked like it was missing a whole section! I know lighting makes a big difference! but other than that - I thought your eyes came together nicely - even with more than one shade. It actually looked like a single shade in the end - but with some depth. Very fresh looking Shelby!

My right eye is more hooded than the left so shades can sometimes become hidden and appear different from the opposite side but I rewatched and probably could have applied a little more!

They’re like a creamier MAC paint pot. Similar dry down but your eyes don’t age 40 years. I have really deep set eyes and they’re amazing IMO.

They are creamier AT FIRST but they dry down to a powdery/matte finish, unlike the MAC paint pots which typically have a satin/matte finish.

These absolutely do not stay on my lids. They wear ok for a few hours but crease on me terribly. They last on the skin past my crease, towards brow area but they are not what I thought they would be. 😢 RMS cream shadows wear like iron on me.

That's so funny because RMS would crease on me within minutes of wearing and I have experienced little to no creasing with the Merit so far haha

When I swatched them in store, they were patchy, especially Brun. But man they do last. That shot of her wiping her arm and them not budging is legit. I had to scrub and still couldn't get them totally off.

Hmm...I haven't had any issues with them being patchy but since they do have a strong grip you have to work with them fast.
