There’s gonna be plenty more to come as I get more time to fish with these soft plastic lures from Daiwa. Jacks, Trevally, Bream, Bass and Flathead are all on my hit list. Let me know what you think of them in the comments ??

This has to be one of the best fishing vids I have seen on the tubes. It had everything. Loved watching the unsuccessful casts as well. And then we get the emotional context with the FaceTime call. I have really enjoyed using the bait junkie after switching from Gulp. And have been getting great results.
Hi John love your vids & enthusiasm for fishing, your a special guy, have lots of trouble getting diawa bait junkie lures all sold out, no stock from Diawa, had great success with Zman grubs, always open for new products, to many lures are barely enough, been luring for 50 years, started with bellbrook lures from the states, arbogust, floppys & mister twister as first soft plastic. Now with the advanced evolution of lures has changed fishing for ever, was stick baiting kings of the rocks with bass assassins in the late 80s, to the amazement of live bait guys, now the rods reels line is next level stuff, have super gloomis, diawa battler, & many custom rods I put together over 40 years, reels consist of Diawa Exist, steez, certate, shimano stellas, all complement modern luring to the max, still can’t get enough fishing in, work interferes, watching your vids feels just like I’ve known you for years, keep up the great job you do & your ability to share knowledge to all will to watch , I also have shared fishing knowledge to friends, and have given them a life log passion in angling, cheers Dave

Hi John, once this COVID crisis is over I’m coming up to see you & go for a fishing experience! I live in Stockton Nsw, & have the fortune to walk across the park to cast a lure & catch flatys & bream. Will have to wait for the right opportunity to come up. Are made in China, zmans are made in USA, surely a large company like Daiwa can do their bit and support another economy other than one that has ripped ours apart?
WOW they look good. I found YUM walleye gubs were the best soft plastic for yellowbelly and cod as you can work them slow as, but they never last. They's guys just kicked YAM out the door, they look tuff and can work them slow as. Will done Daiwa, a bout time some one made a tuff soft plastic for yellowbelly and cod for Copton dam and the upper Gwydir.
I been fishing the Pearl watermelon UV 2.5 in heavy fished waters there just fantastic on trevs , bream & flaty & the fish are big , great video review ...
I’ve seen the action of the jerk bait on diawa’s insta and it is something else... seen a lot of fish caught by briggsy and his missus recently on the bait junkies, can’t wait for the commercial release, when they come out I’ll be getting a few packs of the 3.5 inch minnow in motor oil for sure.
There a very soft plastic usage wise if I'm on a roll they will last may bg e ten trevally or flatys then you use them upside down tail up cause they wear out holding part etc with aggressive fish captured
I just tried the 2.5inch minnow paddle tail blood worm and instantly started catching fatties where nothing else would work. The season has just kicked in in Sydney I feel but these new lures are fantastic..
Nicholas Walsh they move so much in the water. They even move with a pit of current when resting on the bottom. I can see these becoming a quick favourite.

Hey john, going to chase freshwater Barra and was wondering if you can run the 5’ jerkshad along the surface with a chinlockz. You wouldn’t have tried this would you and if you did were the results great?
Hey mate. I’ve done it but not with the chinlockz and a Daiwa. I use unweighted to keep the lure on the surface at rest. A level fall is helpful too so you definitely have the right idea. Worth trying for sure, maybe pull the weight off if needbe.
@@mylurebox when you talk about pulling the weight of do you mean with the snakelockz or something similar where you can take the weight off the front? Thanks
@@harrisonsfishing9763 more just the tiny chinlockz chin weight that holds the plastic on. If that tiny lead is pulling the bait under you can pull the head of the plastic over the eye of the hook then push the leader through the plastic and hook eye at the same time to hold the placcy on and let it float. It might still be sweet as without any mods. Just something to consider :)
Thanks Kevin, I’m gonna have to get them literally side by side and put a compare video together I reckon... there’s lots to consider and good for both. Daiwa is softer, Zman more durable IMO as a start. How they fish will be super interesting the more time I get with em. The tail on the Daiwa certainly got plenty of attention that surprised me in comparison to recent trips flicking small Zman tails. It’s so soft it moves beautifully when the head is jammed in the mud
Great review and video of the fish being caught. Daiwa and Shimano are at the top of tackle manufacturers for design and innovation. Its a good and bad thing because I am a tackle addict and I will probably by these and all my other lures will remain unused. I still have MMD Plastic prawns unused, Holt Products prawn, Ecogear Balt Shads and the list goes on. Is this the same for you and how do you go about retiring or throwing out lures that don't work?
Hi Leonard. I’ve give plenty to my school kids these days but my missus will tell you not enough. Haha. My shed is chockas after so many years of trialing stuff. Those MMD prawns and Holt Production Prawns are epic! There’s plenty of worse things we could be addicts too so it’s all good in my books to be dreaming of big fish and messing about with lures ;)
DO THEY MELT? I've ruined too many chatterbait and spinnerbait skirts with Zmans and would love an alternative which is still crazy soft and wriggly, but plays better with different plastics, including skirts. Anyone checked yet?
In my opinion u can’t beat a holt production swim prawn. Caught my first land based jack this morning on one I’m soo stocked. But I will definitely give these a shot! Go check my Instagram out @jake_fishing_gc
