New Design Front Intake Valveless Pulse Jet (Proof of Concept) Showing the one way front air Intake and one way rear Exhaust Out Flow which is unique to this VPJ design. The next stage will be to incorporate thrust into this design.
How sad to hear that this gifted engineer has departed this mortal coil. RIP Sir. When I was in my teens I made and flew control line all wing combat aircraft. Fast n furious fun.( & dangerous) However I had a pal who made speed record c/l planes with metal skinned construction and assymetric design powered by 2 stroke glowplug engines with tuned pipes (expansion chambers). These were blisteringly fast and flew on a single torque line instead of two. Later when we were at college he became a good engineer and as a project he built a 14" long Pulse Jet which ran well. He installed it in a design out of a 1960s 'Aeromodeller' magazine that he'd found and blown up ( they had pics if plans reduced to fit in an A4 page!) Almost completely made from aluminium with tiny stub wing on the right, and a tapered high aspect ratio wing left. The pulse jet was strapped on top of the concave fuselage. It looked wild flew on a monoline and did some ludicrous speed for a model flying in a 90 foot diameter circle! In excess of 140 mph! Seeing these videos brought it all back. I'm almost 60 now but the idea of putting one of Kunis valveless pulse jets in an ultralight aircraft and flying it, makes me smile. Looks like the planet has lost a gifted experimental engineer. So sad. He doesn't even look that old in these videos! Condolences to his family and his friends.
When I was a kid in the 50s we had a Eureka vacuum cleaner that look just like that. As a matter of fact, it was just as loud and sounded the same when it got a candy wrapper or straw caught in it.
Here's to a good recovery mate! I just came through sepsis. New heart valves, 40% kidney function & lost my legs but I'm out the other side & slowly 'waking up' again. ( That's what it feels like ). At first my interests disappeared, I was happy just to be here. But now, bit by bit, my old way of thought is returning. Ideas, hobbies etc. It takes time so don't be freaked out if you just seem to have lost old ways of thought. It comes back. That's the best advice I can give you, relax, give things time. Recovery is more than just physical. Hope this helps, I've subscribed & I'm looking forward to seeing this beast fly! ☺️
Best wishes to you being healed from cancer! What is going on inside of the engine? I hope you can upload a video of the pulse jet + ram jet sometime, looks sweet!

@@pleasanthacking Horrible advice. Listen to doctors, not random internet comment advice. Cancers feed primarily on sugar. Orange juice, being high in sugar, is cancer fuel. There are various recommended diets to fight cancer, antioxidants don't play a role in cancer, but lowering blood sugar does slow (not stop) growth.

Hope that our Lord Jesus has extended your life as He has for me. I had stage 4 lung cancer and a resection this past Jan. and am cancer free. Praise the Lord. A great home built pulse jet engine.
Very Sad to hear that last bit of news. May the Force be with You also !! Now about the pulse Jet You built. AWESOME !!!! It sounded like a good ole 2 stroke ! Great Job ! 😎👍👍👍👍💜💜💜💜
+MrBen527 Thanks MrBen, almost as good as the fab work on your pulse jet. Also maybe one day with a little help from above i'll be able to match the thrust on yours too. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for your kind thoughts. My disease is being contained at the moment and life is good apart from the 4 weekly dose of chemo. I have made a stage two model which is nearing completion and I try to do a little more on the project whenever I can. We will then see if it is genius or not.
I hate to see someone that’s deeply passionate about a project get so rudely removed from their work. They never get the satisfaction of finishing it. Very upsetting.
Get well. Think that white light is pumped from your mind to your lungs. Or from your hands to your lungs Do it for 10 minutes at a time. Your design is good. Cheers
Your engine looked most promising and I hope you are recovered and doing well enough to continue with it one day and no doubt the many other things you had in mind. Best wishes.
Hi Kuni! I hope your recovery is going great! I have wanted to build a pulse jet since my senior year of high school 3 years ago and am finally planning to take a shot at building one in a couple weeks. Do you have any plans or information from your research that you would be willing to share? Any advice would be much appreciated!
I started with a basic valveless design and found that threaded metal water pipes was the easiest way to make this because I did not have access to a welder. I started with a 200 x 90 mm combustion chamber (pipe threaded on both ends) on to which I screwed threaded reduction fittings (both ends) which reduced the diameter to 25 mm (internal threaded size.) Into these I screwed a 50 mm long threaded inlet pipe and a 500 mm long threaded exhaust pipe (both 25 mm dia.). I clamped a thin copper tube bent into a "u" shape onto the inlet pipe with one end poking down the pipe and the other end attached to an LPG outlet. I clamped the whole unit firmly in a vice in a well ventilated area free of combustible materials or fumes. To start the pulse jet I placed a lighted fireworks sparkler in the combustion chamber turned on the LPG slightly and blew fresh air into the short intake tube with a leaf blower or compressed air. This usually took a few tries until the unit warmed up but when it did the first time it almost deafened me as I was not wearing any ear protection. Well that's how I started in 2005 and it has progressed from there. Thank you for your moral support I hope that you may find this information useful.
God bless ole buddy and good luck I'll be praying for you!!!!! God can heal you if you only trust and believe with all your heart mind and body and love him just the same ! Again I'll pray for you my brother !
If you watch my first video NEW DESIGN FRONT INTAKE VALVELESS PULSE JET and read the comments it will answer your queries. Thank you for your interest.
I' ll let my family evaluate the technology and let them decide what to do with the design in due course. There are no similarities between this and the Tesla valve. Thank you for your good wishes. "Don' t count the days, make the days count" (Mohamad Ali)
1:25 - Rear Exhaust is hot :) Great Pulse Jet Maybe one day some clever guy will invent a damper to reduce noise levels for pulse jets, and they might be interesting for Ultra lights, No moving parts, easy maintenance
I hope you are doing well. I'd like to see what happens when you mount that device to a vehicle and get it up to a high enough speed that a ram scoop effect could affect the operation. If it gets put on an aircraft, that will be a big factor.
I don’t know if a Tesla valve works for pulse jets, but I can say I’ve seen that question a LOT. I think if it worked well, we would have seen it many times on RU-vid. My guess is the intake restriction outweighs the benefit of exhaust restriction, but I’m no engineer.
The only difference between a ramjet and a pulse jet is the ramjet tends to have a shock cone intake. So it seems you made a ramjet. But i dont know exactly how you made this so i could easily be wrong. But kudos man! And best of luck to your battle!.
Chemo every three weeks has put a damper on further progress. Am waiting on possibility of a remission before I am well enough to proceed further with the 1K model. Thank u for your input Don.
Nice sentiment, but sadly praying doesn't do shit. I prayed for two separate people in my life who both had cancer around the same time. Unfortunately, the prayers fell on deaf ears (as always), & they are both no longer here. Since then I've come to believe, there is no God, & praying is a waste of time. But that's my opinion.
@@mickmuzzmkmz1628 I also have severe doubts about the efficacy of any kind of prayer, however, there are others who believe in their power, and we must respect others if we expect others to respect us. Peace. At the least, prayers, however ineffectual, offer a measure of comfort to the believers in sad times.
