Riding on an iced lake at high speed with four metal spars welded together, a cherry red gas-driven pulse-jet on your side and a tank of propane gas on your back. What could ever go wrong?
@@starstencahl8985 so a Harley is the bottom of cool with all other cool things being cooler than a Harley? That's at the very least a weird way of looking at what cool is. At best, I suppose you could redefine the entire cool feel and what it takes to be placed on the cool "pyramid". You would have to of course design the pyramid too. Wait, cool wasnt a reference to ice, like on the lake, and keeping it below you? In this case I would see that as mandatory.
If you ever want to know how many humorless people there are in the world, do something really cool and then post the video on RU-vid. This was pretty damn cool.
There's two types of human pride.... The one where you see a person craft beautiful works of art or great literature and music. Then there's times where you watch a guy use a lighter to ignite his pulse jet right before the bass rattles my phone from the shear force and displacement that baby gives out. POWER!
This is exactly why I LOVE Swedes. One minute you're building one of the safest cars on the planet (Volvo) and the next minute you're building crazy stuff like this, or riding snowmobiles over a lake in summer, or doing crazy motorcycle stunts... Keep up the great work Sweden. 😁🇸🇪❤
Great job Jonas, it's good to see someone who can create something from basic materials using skill and ingenuity. I bet that first test run was worth all the work to make it happen.
This is how records were broken. Men having a plan. building it and going for it. The Wright brothers had this gift. Keep up the good crazy work. Love it.
The idea, the realization, the video quality, the editing, watching those guys sitting on that gear with the red glowing pipe between them, the noise.... shit crazy stuff! Awesome!
Considering how mechanically simple pulse jets are I am surprised we don't see more of them. This has the least moving parts of any fuel powered vehicle I think I have ever seen.
It is an entirely different type of pulse jet that does not have shutter type valves on the front. This is a valveless design and it was never used by those scumbag Nazis that randomly targeted civilian population centers. The existence of groups like the National Front and National Action should be far more concerning than some silly guys having fun o a frozen lake in Sweden. Please remind the youth that they need to honor those that died by resisting the fascists that are still trying to take over the British Isles now.
That chassis looks an awful lot like a repurposed galvanised boat trailer. Very nicely re-engineered. Couldn't help thinking you don't want to stop for long with that red hot tube above the ice. Awesome.
Adding heat wrapping would probably not be bad idea, so that heat can be directed towards exhaust to decrease loss of power. Actually one could spray water inside the engine to turn water into steam witch has high expansion rate.
I've always been fascinated by these engines, and this is no exception. Must have been exciting being tossed forward at that speed by the big loud glowing earthworm! 👍🏻👍🏻
Safety this engine was designed to literally propel bombs into people if anything it gets a 10/10 for doing what it was designed to do but a 9/10 for anything else.. Hehe
This is SO cool! I was born and raised in S.E. Michigan and used to build and race "DN" class iceboats (lol, no motor on those!) and was clocked at 125 MPH on Lake St. Clair in Michigan in an old "R" class boat. My former father-in-law was a world champion in the "DN" class.
@@UltraNyan spoken like true anti-men activist. Racial culture is also a social construct that is imposed to the marginalized for many centuries and the damage is mostly self inflicted.
Y’all are crazy not for operating the ice boat, but for driving it on that lake full that’s full of overflow!! Love the engine though. Awesome idea! Be safe!
Looked like a lot of fun . The glowing pipe was intimidating but step 2 could be a shield of some sorts . Add some shock absorbers , electronic ignition , floor boards, and a GOPro and you could sell these . Great Job Guys 👍🏻
