Relatives have identified three bodies found in a well as those of two Australian surfers and one American who went missing last weekend, Mexican authorities said. abc7.com/3-bodies-found-in-me...
Right the USA needs to do something about the evil cartels they are killing for fun on both sides of the border and mexico is so scared and corrupt they are doing nothing about it this needs to end
They were on cartel territory, the owner of that land was also found dead in the same area. We are in elections time so crime is expected to go up. But cartel season is all year round. Beware. Stay in tourists zone or don't come at all
I got robbed in Cancun Mexico in 1989 on my honeymoon, everybody said "Just stay in the resort area, don't venture out too far from the hotel" ... well I was standing right in front of my hotel in broad daylight and I got robbed, by a girl I might add, she looked like she was about 14yo smfh... she took my cash, luckily I left my wallet w/credit cards in the hotel room, my wife's brand new wedding ring and engagement ring... Mexican police said we were "lucky" lol... funny though, didn't feel lucky.
Watching the families arrive from Australia killed me. So incredibly sad. Just say NO TO MEXICO. Their government it’s corrupt. The cartels, gangs and shitheads like this run everything.
@@99drums54 yes also heard their parents were lovely people n well respected n liked in their community. It's a tragic loss 2 sons taken from them in senseless murders. I cannot help but grieve for their loss.
Exactly, these men could very well been part of organized crime. Or mistaken identity, I heard they were on a ranchers land and that rancher also got unalived. Wrong place wrong time cause why would these men just leave a good working truck on those conditions?
Nobody should start looking for cover-up stories or conspiracy theories. That's not fair to those three guys or their families. Please have some respect and compassion and wait for more details from the authorities. Who said the murderers wanted tires?" No information has officially been given yet so let's wait.
No your mistake. When you're going to a country like Mexico is don't go in there. Looking like you have a lot of money. Nice cars. Nice tires. Buy a piece of s*** car dressed like you're poor
Obviously they didn't know the danger that was ahead of them. They were trusting, experiencing another surfing adventure and paid the highest price, their lives. This was so unnecessary and devastating for the families.
@@MariaRodriguez-xq4bkyep hundreds of them in the red light zones picking up prostitutes. A lot of them are married sneaking around on their spouses and even doing kinky stuff like messing with transfestites all in the closet weirdos. If their spouses only knew
Why does the news call it a “ robbery gone wrong” is a robbery normal and right now ? Until you refuse to give your stuff to the Robbers ? That’s ridiculous ! Oh I am being robbed - gotta make sure this goes right - here take everything - truck - bank accounts - phone - no problem - still gonna escape with your life ?
What a tragedy. I had an incident myself in Puerto Vallarta. Luckily, we were only extorted for money (by the resort itself but not too much $). But that's enough for me to figure out that the mafia ran everything in those tourist areas. I wouldn't go to Mexico for vacation again.
Then go to Las Vegas, where 7+ years ago a 64YO man shot 600 people at an outdoor Music festival on the strip, 58 of them died. Last Summer a deranged homeless man stabbed 8 people on the Strip, 3 of them died!
true, but the police in Mexico have to make up a story to cover that is cartel and they are not going to do nothing about. sucks. pls don't travel to Mexico is not the first time people get kill.
Anyone who has watched Ozark knows how cheap life is out there. Three handsome, healthy, fun loving young men brutally slaughtered, leaving decades of anguish to come for their families, and the perpetrators thought no more of it than they would if they stepped on an ant. Truly horrifying.
This isn't making sense. Why would they kill people over tires and then burn the truck with the tires still on it? The truck would be much more valuable than the tires.
I`ve been to Mexico twice, once in Mexico City and another time in Isla de Mujeres and both those places I stayed at were safe. Baja California doesn`t exemplify all of Mexico as there are many places that are crime free in the same way that one who is enlightened would`nt judge all of the US because how ultra-violent NYC & Detroit are. Maybe you should move outta the US too since a lot of the US is just as "unsafe".
@@katrinamenzies9398 how do we determine that? What criteria? If you ever been to California you see that the beaches in Mexico are just the same because of the geographical nature and land terrain of the pacific coast from north to South America.
@@jogmas12in the US, if a cop pulls you over, you get a ticket, in Mexico you get a ticket or bribe your way out, thus Mexico is more corrupt as a whole. Also in the US, you don’t see dudes faces ripped off in cartel videos, Mexico produces all that. So shut up
Google about the hospital and how they extort tourists including the hotel and taxis that get paid to bring patients there St Luca hospital in Cancun I believe
I was told in what seemed a quiet little town of a backpacker guy in his way to hostel in early evening got surrounded by police robbed of everything inc his passport, lucky to be alive.
True. They stopped us within minutes of crossing the border . One car pulled in front of us and another one stopped behind us. They told us not to get out of the car and proceeded to remove our license plates from our car. They both had rifles pointed at us and asked us what we were willing to pay to get them back. We each had about fifty dollars on us and told them it was all we had. They took it and gave us our plates back. This was in 1986. We immediately went back across the border and said we'd never go back there, and we haven't. I mentioned my incident to someone I worked with at the time. He and his family were here in the states illegally. He told me that this happened frequently there and it had even happened to him and his family when they would go back and forth to see family that was still there. They even rob their own people. He said the government, police, military and cartel were all one in the same. It looks like nothings changed since 1986. RIP to the surfers. My condolences to everyone who loved them.
The motive is bs, if they wanted the tires why did they burn the truck with the tires after murdering 3 innocent men? I had a place in Baja for many years but had to give it up to traffic at the border and crime coming into our camp. Mexico and its people are beautiful but there is a dark side to it. Godspeed to these men and God bless their families and friends.
Yep, and what about the 4th body in the well. The property owner. Maybe he was killed at a different time but none of the news stories are mentioning it
Many foreigners move to M E X I C O because I'm told it's C H E A P. So they settle in a lawless and barbaric country where police officers are paid a $20 a day wage so they need to take bribes in order to support family. With the current administration in m e x i c o , homicides have doubled and c a r t e l s have multiplied. It's a sketchy situation. I'd rather pay to live in a beautiful and wealthy area where i can walk my dog with ease at 2 am. No price can be put on peace of mind.
Exactly, they are covering it up because it was cartel that did this and they don't want it to look like it was to scare away bringing in tourist an money
What a senseless crime. Three young lives taken for a truck? Tires? This is absolutely disgusting. I've been to Mexico a couple times and felt intimidated by a local gang. I'll never go back.
yeh, something doesnt quite make sense with the story. They were all shot in the head. It sounds like an execution, from behind, as they were kneeling on the ground. Or they were asleep when they were shot in the head. But then they said that one of the guys confronted the people trying to steal the vehicle and they shot him, then the other two confronted them and they too were shot. But when you hear a gun go off your first response should be to run away from offenders, to protect yourselves, not to run toward them. And if the gang was after the tires as we've been told, why did they leave it on the vehicle and torch it? Why not steal the entire vehicle, take it to a chop shop and make some money out of it? There's something else to the story they're not telling us. And the owner of the land/propery, he was killed too, several weeks prior. Possibly by the same gang. If they had found the body of the owner soonery they probably would have had police around that area since then and the 3 men may have thus known or been told to stay away. A real shame they didnt find the body of the property owner sooner. I wonder why he wasnt reported missing. It could have prevented the loss of 3 lives. RIP! Condolences to their families and to Callum's girlfriend.
"I wonder why he wasnt reported missing." Because he was an man living in an isolate part by himself not a borough in NYC. Isolated also means if something bad happens there isnt anyone to notice
been there several times, like any place, there are areas you go and areas you avoid. Do your research before going to any foreign country, the same goes for tourists in the US.
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT get dropped off to any private beaches that don’t have security. I did that and gang bangers started to pop up over the cliffs. Thankfully I was able to wave over a boat to rescue y self and family. These gang bangers were lurking over and moving in on us.
As a Mexican I can agree United States are safer than Mexico, but Mexico it's not a safe place even if Mexican told you, that's because it's safe for them not for the gringos
I don’t believe it was the cartel they are smarter than that, why would they want to bring this kind of attention to them. I do believe there will be retribution from the cartel though which I encourage
@@Unflappable43 it was a flop. In order to diffuse the situation they made these people take the blame or face torture. The police departments are also involved to prevent cartels being held accountable. It’s bad for everyone to be honest. Even the US uses cartels as ATM’s to fund secrets wars.
I'm so terribly sorry to the families of all three men this is absolutely horrific and inexcusable. The investigation so far is not very reassuring since they are claiming the three men were shot all in the head during a struggle this sounds like they were all executed if you got all three of them in the head and nowhere else. Would it be so difficult just to Rob them and or just ask them to Camp somewhere else or go back home. I hope other people really take caution from this and think about how dangerous it is literally everywhere nowadays not just Mexico
No mention of the 4th body, which apparently was the man who owned the property they were camping on or near? I know I remember that being reported a few days ago & I believe he went missing before them. My sincere condolences to the families of all these men. This is horrible & heartbreaking. What a tragedy. My brother used to surf the west coast from CA down to Costa Rica. He definitely had close calls, and some crazy & scary stories. Safety in numbers usually, but still never let down your guard, especially in Mexico (and other places, of course). Heck, you can't let down your guard much in the U.S. these days either.
Mexico is clearly not prioritizing the safety of its tourists, so at this point there shouldn't be any more fighting to get protection. Tourist/surfers just need to boycott Mexico. Go to El Salvador where the surf is just the same if not better, and where crime has been reduced to an all time low through the great efforts/leadership of its President, Bukelee, who has made it his mission to keep its citizens (and tourists) safe!
Yes don't come here. We have enough problems already we can't deal with, one being foreigners making everything more expensive for locals. You better stay home.
Come on - they wanted their truck and tires- why in the hell is the truck burnt to the ground- if they wanted the truck they could easily just have taken it. I’ve spent many months by myself as far south in Baja with no problems. Something is not right with this story
Apparently, one of the brothers posted on his Instagram: " If you aren't living on the edge, you're taking up to much room" After reading that, think about ignoring all the hand wringing and think about the lack of common sense, instead replaced with machismo and bravado. There is adventure and then there is foolishness. "Beer, babes and bro's" are not going to stop criminals in a lawless country
Finally someone said it! It would have been understandable had they been in their early 20s, but no they were in their early 30s already. They should have known better.
@@reinhardt5405 Yes, These guy's weren't kids. It would seem their approach to the world, or at least to this trip, was very naive and trusting. Did they not do any research?

You do realize that's not what really happened, right?? It's a cover-up. Tires were still on the burnt car. The owner of the property was also found in the well. He had been thr prior. Mexico is very corrupt

That girl who said she now always goes surfing accompanied better think three times now before even trying to go at all. Obviously, it doesn't matter if you're alone or not.
Going anywhere in Mexico is more dangerous than south side of Chicago. Yet I hear about expat Americans living in Mexico who think it's great because their dollars go farther. :(
Ridiculous. They are making a big deal out of this because only a few Americans get killed in Mexico in a year. Meanwhile, a week won't pass without someone dying in Southside Chicago.

I feel so bad for their families, I can’t imagine losing both of your children like this. I went to Mexico in 2020 before the pandemic and had a great time, but it is definitely a place where things can go wrong very quickly if you meet the wrong people. RIP.
I was raised in SoCal and knew from age 17 to only drive as far as Ensenada, and only for a day trip. Everyone knew back then never to go camping on any Mexican beaches.

Yeah, and so does Australia. And from all the photos I've seen about this story, It looks like they were surfing near an industrial port. Not pretty at all.
They usually don’t mess with tourists. I wonder what caused all this. From what I’ve heard the cartels like to steal these type of trucks but it’s kind of odd that it’s burnt now :/ May they rest in peace. I hope these criminals pay for their crime.
From Perth Australia. Can't stop crying over the senseless waste of beautiful humans. My heart breaks for their families. Peace bless your souls mum & dad. Don't know you but this is a sadness that cuts deep. It's incomprehensible
It's disappointing to see Mexico's leadership fall short, but it's not reflective of the country as a whole. The community must empower themselves to resist the influence of money and drugs on their children. Similarly, the USA faces its own challenges; it's important to acknowledge that no country is without its issues.
The community? You mean the law abiding citizens of Mexico who can not own guns? You want them to empower themselves and stand up against the criminals with guns?
@@AFloridaSon It's important to recognize that the right to bear arms is not universal across countries, yet many of them manage to maintain safety and security without it. Take Japan and the United Kingdom, for example, where citizens don't have the right to bear arms, yet their crime rates are significantly lower compared to countries with more permissive gun laws. It's also worth noting that the issue of crime and security is multifaceted and can't be solved solely by gun ownership. As for your initial point about Mexico's leadership, there are indeed various factors at play in addressing crime and empowering citizens, beyond just access to firearms
@@cardanousa I know that America's constitution is for America. Duh! That's not the point. But first, let's look at The UK and Japan. America has more people than both countries put together, and they are both islands that don't border other countries. Japan has not diversified like other countries, and culturally they are pretty much the same as they were 200 years ago. Good for them. They should not change. But they are not the same as Mexico or America. My point is; Mexico has always had a bit of lawlessness there, but that doesn't mean they are all criminals. When people who know right from wrong, can not fight against those who don't care about right from wrong, the criminals will prevail. Just look at how many people get shot in gun free zones in America. Mexico is a large country that borders other countries. They had way more bad guys with guns, than good guys with guns. No matter how many countries you compare it to, you will not prove that Mexico is safer with law abiding citizens not being able to carry guns.
@@ramjohnston3370 The cartels get a lot of guns from the US, but it is not their only source. They also get guns from North Korea, Russia, China, and other countries. They also take guns from Meexico's military and law enforcement.
