The mistake was to use the old name, if they would have given it a new name, then its reception would be way better (but not on the level of sauvage or similar stuff)
Yeah, I love the 2020 version, but really hated they used the name of the original... which I also loved. They should have made it a flanker, but it is a great scent.
@@StoicTaste Exactly. I never tried any other ones except the 2020, so to me it’s fantastic. I can see how people would be disappointed if they have a different expectation though.
I’ve purchased a bottle, so I can safely give u the link…this website had 4 bottle available and unfortunately I slept on buying all 4 and settled with just one. The other 3 eventually sold out, BUT they have partial bottles if u r interested Also the great news is I got it for retail. No expensive upcharge
@@XxXHardcoreshredderxXXxxxxxxxx went to sample yesterday . I would say its okay . Not a bad smell at all ofcourse . This is what i wanted sauvage to smells like for the edt . Crowd pleaser for sure but not outstanding like a wow factor . Suitable for office and casual for sure .
@@user-vo6pb1ot6n yeah I mean it's not like mindblowingly amazing but I have to say. It kills most other designer fragrances off for sure. It's worth the price. Not more.
@@Covid--kl9ff i wonder that too. It's beast on my skin and i need to buy it! The dry down of DH2020 reminds me of Tere D'hermes EDT, but DH2020 is fresher. I tried it at the store but since the bottle was empty, it barely came out but I insisted on spraying it. I thought it wasn't enough to let me smell it but I was quite surprised because half an hour later I could smell the fragrance very well! In fact, it lasts longer than "stronger with you" which I sprayed quite a lot on my hands.
I've been looking for a comparison video of them as well. DHI 2011 is my scent from my first date with my wife to be, & although I have 13 ounces of it, I love to wear it, & want to stockpile it for both of those reasons... I also have 6.7 Oz of DH 2011, & 7.5 Oz of the parfum, & it's a scent profile I really love.
Dior Homme 2020 should be renamed, it has a place imo. Dior Homme line up (parfum, intense and original) should maintain iris notes as it is well known for it.
On my skin, Dior Homme 2020 is a BEAST in performance. I applied one solid spray on my neck a day ago and I still smell it 24 hours later. I love the 2020 version, and if the intense is supposed to be better, I look forward to trying it out.
Dior Homme Original does still have the iris note, but the Dior Homme 2020 absolutely does not. It's basically a woody, vetiver, iso E super fragrance now.
@@47pawspa yeah I know, I also own it. You need to see it as another fragrance, they should have named it differently... It's a very solid one in my opinion
@@sherkanmustard4093 I couldn't agree more! The 2020 version of it is an amazing fragrance. There was someone else In a comment section that had said it should've been called Dior Homme Boisée, and I feel that was spot on.
Everyone went in on Dior 2020 because it was replacing a much loved fragrance, now they’ve brought out Dior homme original, Dior 2020 can now be seen as it’s own fragrance.
There is nothing wrong with having this new rendition of Homme so long as they also allow people to get the original, which theyre now doing. And i think that's why people have started to soften up on the new one
I really hope the old version or the 2020 original version will return for purchase i Denmark again, as today we can only purchase the new version here.
Well, I went ahead and got one of the last remaining dior homme testers from a discounter, just in case. It's a 2013 bottle and it smells phenomenal. Can't be too careful, I don't ever want to not have it.
I'm totally ok with Dior changing there bottles when they reformulate! It gives us a heads up, unlike Armani who has totally watered down Code Profumo to the point it should be half price. Dior= honest & transparent. Armani =deceptive & dishonest.
The only problem with last years reformulation is how they reformulated/repackaged DH edt, and only repackaged DHI and DHP but so many rumors spread that these two were reformulated as well when they weren’t. Same formulation code for DHI ever since 2014ish and Dior Parfum reformulation hasn’t happened in ages atleast 4 years
I live in the Netherlands, Europe, and here the parfumstores sell orignal and 2020 side by side. the original smells like dior homme 2011 BUT with a lesser performance! If you like the dior homme 2011, you will like dh original as well.
I have a bottle of Dior homme original and it does smell like Dior homme 2011. Also, the bottle is a little larger, like the 2011, and the packaging doesn’t have the bee on the front like the 2020 does.
If you're new to fragrances or haven't smelled many, I can see how you may be impressed by DH 2020. Definitely smells nice, but it's unoriginal and impossibly basic. Recommended for younger guys and those who want something fresh and subtle.
DH2020 is a great safe fragrance that is easy to wear. I just picked up a bottle to wear at the office as a subtle fragrance that won't get a lot of attention.
Dior Homme 2020 is f'n phenomenal. The Dillard's I bought mine from said they can't keep it in stock. Mine was the last of the bottles they had at that time. I will check out Original, but 2020 is fantastic.
I bought a bottle from Fragrance net but they sent me a bottle of the 2020 version. They were helpful and said I could return it. However, I had a family emergency and wasn't able to return it within the required time. So now I have 3 bottles of 2020 a life time supply 🙃
They shouldve named it as Dior no way homme. So that people Wont be confused. Anyway, i havent smelled the original. But i have the 2020. I really like it a lot. Got compliments the 1st time i wore it. It was really unexpected. A coworker asked me what im wearing coz she wants it as a gift for his husband.
tbf dior homme (old) and dior homme intense are basically the same but intense is better. I am not surprised they cancelled the old one and reformulated. I like the 2020 one! and the intense one.
Dior Homme Original is being sold at a Sephora in Alabama, and has been for at least a few weeks. The name is on the bottle rather than the cap but it says Dior Homme, not Dior Homme Original. My initial thoughts were that they either had back-stock or that they had ordered the wrong product somehow. Considering that the same store has been selling Dior Homme 2020 for the past year (yet no longer are), neither of those conclusions make sense. I went back today to check the back of the bottle and the only notes listed were Iris, Cardamom, and Vetiver. I’m confused and I doubt the staff could answer my questions so I didn’t bother asking. All I know is either it’s back or a distributor made a huge mistake.
Hey Ashton I'm a long time subscriber and I'm commenting today because I just bought this new Dior Homme 2020 from my local Macy's. For whatever reason I decided to look up the batch code for my fragrance and found that it was manufactured back in 2016 even though it just came on in 2020 !!?👀 My question basically is, is it just a new bottle design or is it supposed to be a WHOLE new fragrance? I'm just confused why it was manufactured back in 2016 and released in 2020? 🤣 hopefully you can lighten me. Keep up the videos!
Hey Ash, what are some great iris fragrances besides Dior Homme? I really like the iris note but don’t know many frangrances that have the note and make it work well. Thank you!
I gotta agree on that one! If it was named Dior Homme Boisée, it probably wouldn't have got so much hate, and it would probably sell insanely well. I love it personally, but I can see where people were thrown off.
I still haven't smelled this one from Dior but I'm still pretty new in the fragrance game and also I don't have a huge budget to add 3 a month to my collection lol
Have you ordered from them and actually received the original version? I’m assuming that they just haven’t updated their photos and are selling the 2020 version.
I’m freaked out that the only perfume video RU-vid has ever recommended to me, is the only brand I wear and have been using for 10 years. Also just finished reading The Emperor of Scent two days ago. Spooky.
Companies need to improve naming conventions with some of their fragrance lines. It's way too convoluted when you have the same fragrance in name released at different times, yet under a 'reworking' or reformulation (which even the official website never directly informs you of). The only people who understand these nuances are those that keep up with the industry. When I first got in the game last year I bought Dior Homme Intense and then a week later discovered there were a couple iterations of it. Quite misleading, but what do I know, I'm just the consumer lol
I bought 2020 thinking was the original, was not aware of the change so i buy blindly, bad idea. Is totally different compared to Original and i don't like it, i feel cheated and i can't send back the item.
Imagine if Creed did this with Aventus. Aventus 2011, Aventus 2013 but is really original 2010 , Aventus 2014, 15,16,17,18,19,2020 oh its the Aniverseery edition. Can you imagine
My wife gave me the original one and Tom ford noir. …I dislike both of them, but I wear them once in a while just for her. That’s it. That’s my comment
REALLY, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT? ASH HAS SAID, OVER AND OVER, THAT DIOR HOMME IS ONE OF HIS ALL-TIME-FAVORITES. AT THE VERY LEAST, YOU KNOW WHERE HE STANDS.
