Find it crazy that the toy maker is only the third hartnell original villain to return to the series apart from the daleks and cyberman. Hopefully toymaker goes well and we get the Voord back.
Hey 👋 Fella’s it’s exciting stuff Isn’t it 🎉 this is the 1st time I’ve been genuinely excited since ……..well since probably Capaldi’s 1st season . Love how they’re not giving too much away👏 Fingers Crossed🤞 it’s everything we hope it’s gonna be.
Anyone else feeling nostalgic about Day of the Doctor and getting that 'wow it was ten years ago' sensation? I'm elated about the 60th, but also celebrating how Moffat pulled off that awesome 50th anniversary special a decade ago.
The one thing i do like seeing is more classic villains returning in new Who which was lacking in previous seasons. So to have The toymaker return is great!
In ‘Army of Ghosts’, the Doctor describes the concept of the dead returning as “horrific”. What if 'Wild Blue Yonder' is 'The Thing' meets 'Pet Sematary' with a dash of ‘Midnight’? The Doctor being terrorised by faces from the past would be a chilling and line-up with the mega-narrative of Doctor Who celebrating its 60th and embracing a dynamic future. 🤷🏼♂️ The Doctor and Donna look terrified in the snippets we’ve been shown. The Fourteenth Doctor's run will be short, so it’s only fitting they have one truly terrifying adventure. 👻
Adding to your theory of the Toymaker being responsible for David's return, I'm curious if there is going to be a meta element to it, a reference to the fan argument that David should be the permanent Doctor, with the Toymaker giving him the opportunity to keep this face, however the Doctor will reject this idea as it's not healthy for himself and by extension the show.
I can't wait for doctor who to be truly event television again. The Toymaker looks super interesting and freaky, tennant and tate have slipped back into their roles effortlessly it seems, the production values look insane and we've only seen less than 2% of what's to come. Hyped beyond belief. (interesting theories too, will be interesting to see if any pan out)
A new thought and not sure if its a worry or not is that once Russel leaves again. It’s going to be a much harder job for whoever takes over. As they wont be taking over who. They will be taking over the whoniverse. So finding a consistent between all the shows will be very difficult i imagine.
I've heard some whispers that RTD is planned to remodel the structure of the production so that the 'showrunner' model is replaced. It would be a very sensible idea, given how difficult the BBC has found it to find anyone willing to take the job on.
An American fan here. Don’t get me wrong- the studio that walt Disney founded, snow white in the haunted forest, pinnochio turning into a donkey etc, that stuff is fantastic. But Disney today is such an evil empire, I really want it nowhere near dr who. Disney has a way of taking franchises with rich history and bleeding them dry. I just don’t want it to happen
After seeing how many views this trailer had in just two days its pleasing to see that interest in the show is becoming strong again, if the quality of this trailer matches how the episodes will turn out when we see them then i think the show has a strong time ahead
The only theory I have is that the first story is an adaptation of a comic, the second could have elements of another form of doctor who media? Big finish? The only monster that I think could work with the new budget and could scare the TARDIS is the ravenous? It would help explain the doctor being so angry because they are time lords natural predators and they arrive on a timelord ship with the survivors fighting to survive?
you can actually hear Jodie in the background of the Ncuti shot, cos they use the exact same audio from POTD which includes her making a big sigh as she explodes
So November 23rd is a Thursday. So I can see “The Star Beast” being on Sunday the 19th, “Wild Blue Yonder” being on the 23rd itself and “The Giggle" being on Sunday the 26th. I think it would be silly to release them all on the same day.
Something bled out of the land of fiction? Beep the Meep, Mayhaps? Perhaps it’s why Meep’s ship is crashing - it doesn’t work properly in our world because it’s a ship that runs on fiction.
Well, since they're adapting a Marvel comic story for at least the first episode, having an overt reference to the Avengers seems appropriate. Man, that's actually really weird to think about.
