Two things, you need to get to whoever is actually in charge of the entire project (Not just a foreman or superintendent) and tell them you’ve had enough and it has cost you more than enough time (and money) and from that point forward, continued issues will result in legal action being sought by you. Courts and juries much prefer little guys over large corporations when they’re doing improper things. Secondly, if you don’t have cameras up covering your entire property, get them up ASAP. Make especially sure it gets done before the store opens because you are going to have a lot more eyes on your property. But if cameras were up to document the things that have taken place, it would be a slam dunk in court.
Yep. I've been reaching out to the coordinating the sale and actually build and of course, the cameras I have up miss the angle of my water meter by a mere few feet. So none would of been triggered. But you bet new cameras will be out along with some additional security measures. And yes. I'll be in contact with the coordinator of the project. Because I'm now at my limit
You need to bill for your time and equipment use. Not to mention a repair claim for your dumpster. If you let people use you cheap... They will keep on using you for cheap.
That construction is always a nightmare. A friend had his home damaged when they demolished the gas station next door to build a bank. They crushed the sewer line and damaged the electrical feed. The sewer backed up a few days later but the electrical problems started a year later. half the 240V failed due to a damaged cable, and it took weeks to convince FPL it was their problem. The bank they built there eventually closed and is for sale now.
Got to agree with the other posters, the contractor should be charged. Maybe cut them a deal to get the mileage, but disposal, repair, repaint and your time seem to be adding up!
I used to install lifts, without removing the lift or pumping the tank out, the easy way is just put a bucket under the exhaust and lower the lift. get some kitty litter and spread it around just in case or at least have it ready. also empty the water from your compressor as it introduces water into the lift raising the level.
We had to do a VERY Long over due yard clean up where I work. "Oil Field Manufacturing and RnD business. Metal scrap/recycling company supplied us 20 yard "Steel Only" bins. Everything to do with the oilfield is stupid heavy. I tried telling the guys to go easy on the bins, don't make them too heavy. First truck blew the cap off his hydraulic tank 30 feet in the air lifting the first bin. Not sure what happened there. Second truck really struggle to lift second bin. Don't know the weight of the first bin, but I later heard, their general manager called very pissed off and said second bin was 7 tons over Legal maximum allowable weight. Driver was fired and any possible damage to truck they would bill us. The guys only filled the bins half way after that.
Need to flush that entire hydraulic system for the post lift. Water displaced the oil and you’re going to end up with that rusting and getting stuck internally.
Docket is the bomb! we have been using them for over a year! my customers love getting the notification when the driver is on his way! easy clock in/out feature, and i love being able to set the route for the driver to follow with the app on his phone.
And i think im about an hour or so from you, im in bumpster business and real estate myself as well. we should get lunch sometime man, my treat. We are C&D dumpsters in the peoria area. give me a call if interested man.
I'm guessing your water was turned on because the demo contractor needed water for the demo process and they turned on the wrong service (or it's the same service for both buildings)
Possible. The sub contractor already knew we were on different systems because they are serviced by different water companies. But the contractor who merely visited the site and put in work orders, could have possibly done it. Either way, not happy.
@@rollingops quickly install rooftop surveillance cameras everywhere. all the state, county, city inspectors, contractors employees, subcontractors employees', DG employees, ALL delivery trucks, DG customers AND CONSTRUCTION SPECTATORS are going to terrorize your company.
I love watching your videos! I originally found you because I have two 10 yard dump trailers I rented out and I've been getting busy with them and was looking into what brand roll-off was the best. I really enjoy your content and I would love to see you post videos of just a normal day recording some pick ups and record them being dumped. I know you have to make them interesting to make people watch though lol
you need to have signs clearly posted on the sides of bins, no concrete or dirt and add extra cost if they do. If they do, you can charge them for the costs of cleaning them out
Yea, we use a snatch block all the time. We can get it on the trailer easy. It's driving it around and trying not to destroy the axles that is the worry
quickly install DOUBLE LOCKS, rooftop surveillance cameras everywhere. all the state, county, city inspectors, contractors employees, subcontractors employees', DG employees, ALL delivery trucks, DG customers AND CONSTRUCTION SPECTATORS are going to terrorize your company. Good point! We usually us the shorter dumpster. So it doesn't rub. Of course this was the only one I had available at the moment, without going to the shop for one.
I wonder if they used water to control the dust when they tore down that building. Because if so they flooded yours. That guy would be getting charged for two dumpsters my time of unloading half of it and he would be getting charged for a repair to repair the dumpster. I know you like to be nice on some of that but then people like to take advantage of things too. Now if you knew by chance you were going to get more work from that contractor I would possibly let a few things slide but they were definitely be paying to fix my trailer and for two dumpsters. And that is pretty cool that you got the computer stuff got to make your life a lot easier
I run MAXXD, and I've been following you since I started 2 years ago. How is docket? Do they show what dumpsters are put and what ones are available? I am going to look into it. I have 10 dumpsters at the moment. Haulin Cache Roll off Dumpsters & Trailers
When you shut the water off in your shop did you open the lowest point in the system and let the water drain out? Just shutting it off the lines will still be full of water, somewhere between 30-65 psi. You have to drain it out to give some room for expansion once the remaining water does freeze. I know you will figure it out. Good luck 👍
@@rollingops that's terrible. All you can do now is turn it on and see where the pipes burst and repair them. Maybe you have a shared water line with the old restaurant that fed into your shop? Trace all your lines and see what you find out.
Love the video. The algorithm sent me over and I agree don't let people use your age against you in business. Sadly this happens alot and I have had to deal with this as well which leads to some hard feellings at times. Thankfully I've only had to have a few of those times be a very short answer that the other side didn't like however I had to stand my ground at the time due to safety or at least staying in the black. Hopefully this dollar general gets better and you can focus on other things soon!
Sometimes you just have to know what's best for you! Long-term, it's very important, because you will have a lot of people around you telling you what's best and what you should do. Trust the gut!
Dollar General actually does more harm than good for communities. The force the smaller community based stores out of business by selling similar products that in smaller quantities for a little less and the community members end up spending more in the long run for the same amount of product
I'd agree. But this small town has no place to get basic needs outside of a small gas station....for 20 miles. As annoying as this is for me. This town needed something
If you’re not using full size Mack/kenworth 880 size trucks your dumpster business won’t last long. Have to have heavy duty trucks capable of hauling 12/14 tons per load to survive in your industry.
@@rollingops I wish you the best there hand, but eventually you’ll make the move to class B straight trucks tagged for 60,000+lbs. guarantee it if you stay in the bizz. Good luck homie wishing you the best.
@chadrides914 maybe if my goal was to go that direction and compete with a full sized Waste Management type business. But I am aiming to have a different business model. More like 1800 got junk. I'm not saying those trucks are definitely not in my future. I may end up with a few. But at The moment there not my priority. 1800 got junk, runs trucks rated for even less GVWR than the trucks I currently run, and it's a multi-billion dollar company. So, to say my business will fail simply because the truck I use is different than the "big guys" is just a different line of sight. I respect the opinion and see what you're saying. It's just not currently in the vision for what I'm planning my company to look like.
@@rollingops, Diversification 101. Offer Big & Small 1800 junk services. Small leads to big and big leads to small jobs. Offer the burger, the drink and the fries. Not just one thing.
Where do you wash the dumpsters out ? I’ve watched a ton of VID’s across RU-vid and no one ever speaks about cleaning these roll offs and how to contain the unknown dirty water used to wash these dumpsters. Certainly not cost effective to pour a concrete wash pad with a drain and seperator to contain the nasty’s. Look forward to your answer !!!
That's what happens when nobody is there to keep an eye out stuff happens to your property take the dirt and put it back on there property and make them buy you a new dumpster your being way to easy on them there going to keep taking advantage of you.
I see your point, but this really was a one and done deal. We could of hauled it. We have def hauled more. But with the machine there, it made way more since to just split it up, and he was totally okay with it and offered to do it himself!
I've got bigger problems to stress over. Makes this stuff easy to get over and handle without losing my cool. I've learned the hard way, losing it never ends up being very productive.
Man i have a maxx d roll up set bumper pull i loaded mine with about a lil bit over half way with dirt and a a 2-3 blocks of concrete 4x6 5 in thick and it was able to handle it
Yea man, can definitely load it. We've hauled some crazy weight, but we're just trying to respect the rig. Hauling 8 tons on 7k axles all the time is just asking for trouble
I always said to others that no one has worse luck than me but gotta figure we are lucky to be in a prosperous country with lots of food and anything we need is easily available guess we are pretty lucky after all 😉
That store is going to cause you big time problems. So keep track of everything that goes on between you to because your eventually going to need to sue them for harassment if this is just the beginning. They want a business next to them that will bring them more business not trash
Do you prefer 14ft dumpsters? I'm thinking of buying iron bull 3 bin 16ft 16 yards with 16k axels Or would you suggest instead smaller trailers to try avoid overloads? Maybe even 14yard trailer with 16k axels
Highly suggest the 14 ft. Some times I don't think some of the new manufactures think about legal aspects of hauling. I believe Iron bull in particular, last year was making 20ft cans with two, 7k axles. Talk about a recipe for disaster. The 14 ft cans are also pretty easy to navigate in tight spots
I use to do it myself. I had 2 or 3 free or cheap systems that basically ran my business. But it was so clunky and patched together. Docket made things seamless. I compared them to another big company, but I heard better things about Docket. Loved the user experience side, haven't looked back since.
@user-sm4lv3mx5n on uneven surfaces and hills it gets a little tricky. The container doesn't hang up, but the bottom of the trailer might. Have to take it slow on those
@user-sm4lv3mx5n I leveraged an existing property I had a lot of equity in for the down payment on the shop. About to do that on another property as well. Video will drop today about it
Yeah so you way of strapping those down please tell you use two straps cause I’m sorry if you use one well I’m afraid if dot stops you well they will make you restrap you load no they make you explain the details of what is a proper secure load with the proper tools and etc ps if you drive down in Canada and if someone saw that yes you will be called in and dot comes finds you
@@rollingops attachments it’s a very dangerous load right there beleave me I had to go through a process to do that Secure the load I had to make sure that two skid steer are properly secured same as the attachments if I didn’t do it correctly I had to restart over and over until you get it
@farrellmorgan4916 that's wild - are you local? It seems my channel has gotten more local attention lately. Before, it seemed to be everywhere but local.
I am a sales rep and Quincy is the biggest part of my territory so there atleast 3 or 4 days a week. I’m from Macon Mo. 1:20 minutes south west of you. Come up there a lot to the races also.
I do full understand good customer service but in that moment that guys not a customer and hes damaging your property you run your business with and he needs to fix it i feel like maybe thats just me
I want to own my own business but seeing business after business get shit luck over and over and knowing I am a very unlucky person.. Im close to just join the damn electricians union and just milk overtime on thier dime... lol
lol I was send here by the algorithm and I must say this is a very VERY interesting channel. Bad choice if music in my opinion, but no one ever cars about my opinion! I SUBSCRIBED

Do the digger drivers in your country get taught how to driver digger mind I'm from England and technically don't have a digger licence but know how to use one I know one would feel that dumpster that match with that stuff if the guy does have a licence he should have it taken off him
Is that your boat parked in front of your grandfather's house too? If you really care about your grandfather, move YOUR dumpsters off his property. It may be convenient for you, however it's a nuisance (both sight and sound) for his neighbors. Im guessing its not zoned for business. You are being selfish. Move your things to your property or business. If you really care about your grandfather. Be responsible like a grown up.
