Thanks for watching this video! I love you guys!
In todays video we will be investigating the Moskvitch car brand where they have all sorts of vehicles like Moskvitch 3 and Moskvitch 6.
After Tucker Carlsons videos about Russia a lot of people might be thinking that living in Russia is amazing and that the prices are low, nobody looks at the fact that Russian wages are very low.
If you enjoyed the video you might as well like it comment and subscribe!

Hello Ivan, I am Olivier from France. For your information, Renault did not sell the factory but simply gave it away for a symbolic 1 ruble because the Russian state did not want to pay. This is a big financial loss for Renault and I think it will dissuade any Western car manufacturer from investing in Russia in the future.

@@SanctionedIvan Thanks Ivan! You are a good person and I really enjoy your videos. It's a shame for the Russian automobile industry because Renault had studied a specific car to meet the country's demand in terms of quality level and price. Renaults made in Russia were different from French Renaults.

The same thing went down with quite a few Western companies that left Russia. Russia is burning all their bridges, oh well
@chtiworld3896
@chtiworld3896 5 месяцев назад
@@Gertieness No, it's the opposite. It’s Western companies that are cutting ties and I don’t think that’s good for Russia because soon there will be no more foreign investors for the country and that’s not good for the economy. Only China and North Korea will remain as Russia's partners.

The deal was that they sold it for 1 symbolic ruble but with the small print that they have the right to buy back all the assets in a period of 6 years for that same symbolic ruble. In the meantime the gov of Moscow make a deal with the Chinese JAC to use the factory to produce these cars. So that ¨6 years¨ deals says a lot... probably more than one VIP politician knows they plan to restore relations within 6 years after february 2022. We mortals never know how these guys play on our backs. All the info is online.

@andreivaughn1468
@andreivaughn1468 5 месяцев назад
My granddad had a moskvich, I remember riding in it in the early 2000s, he sold it roughly around 2012, he had it for 40+ years, I remember from the back seat you could see the road from a hole in the floor, not only had it survived 40+ years but that was also in our small town in Ukraine where the roads were really atrocious, plus he was an on-call dentist that would drive out to people at odd hours - my point is it couldn't have been that bad of a car to have such survivability. He wasn't a mechanic or anything and never said it gave him much trouble, although he swore at the thing like no tomorrow. The only reason he got rid of it is because we all saved up to buy him a way nicer car from 21st century. My uncle had a similar car although maybe 10-15 years newer, which we would take to the black sea every summer - so based on my own experiences, i'm not doubting the roadworthiness of the old moskvich cars.

Did you know my hubby worked at the same automotive parts factory for 43 years. Sure it sold out a few times. Well Obama DID TO STOP JOBS FROM LEAVING THIS COUNTRY. He also passed a law to stop monopoly garbage out of companies, like that At&t been pulling now since Trump got in and undone all that Obama passed to stop corporate abuses. So what happened after not rich Trump got in and undone those protections which explains why Trump has filed bankruptcy 10 times and a failure, by running into the ground all his dad and grandpas work. Jobs started going to Mexico so that factory had less jobs. Less pay and no benefits for workers in Mexico and buy new machines for down there because old ones was about beyond repair at old factory. Ok what happened next, two Chinese men came here for a year to see how the rest of the automotive jobs worked. So company rented a building over there and new machines bought and those two men ran it. That's what Trump did, lost millions of jobs here. So factory went from 400 tops working there and most times 350 with 3 shifts to only 80 people working and 18 months ago doors was closed. Biden has to brought millions of jobs to this country and stock market been some thing else, the dow and all. If we get Trump in again, it will be just like Putins Russia within one year of that jackass in.

It must be annoying to think the ruble is the same value as a USA one cent/penny. In the USA a couple with minimum wage can’t afford a new car, unless they saved a huge down payment. Those cars seem to not be suited to snowy Russia. The sedan especially had low profile wheels/tires. Hard to travel with chains or studded tires if you need to drive through thick snow.

For your info, the electric charging port you saw is the standard CCS (Combined Charging System) port used throughout Europe - the top circular port is used for slow charging (usually at home or at malls where you're parked for hours) and you open the bottom two-pin port when you use a fast/rapid charger that can deliver a lot more power.

Plus he's comparing used Cadillac escalade with compact cars.... of course, most cars would feel small & the starting price of Cadillac in US is like $82k, most would end up around $100k.... if he claimed that the chinese cars cost twice in russia compares to the chinese cars in china then I would guess that the same car would cost around $170-200k in russia if there's no sanction..... Plus most new 'sporty' cars won't have old "wooden" panels that he loves inside his car.... "wooden" panel is so 2000s..... with the way inflation is in the last 4-5 years, even the same japanese cars comparable to the chinese cars (in term of amenities) would cost extra 20-25% easily...... So it's definitely not apple and apple comparison......

I live in Canada and have had 2 different Ladas in the 80’s , the second one was like a little station wagon with a back hatch and storage area, can’t remember the model name. Anyway, I bought a new car and a friend called to say a Russian fishing ship was in port and looking to buy some older cars , especially Ladas. As I drove up to the ship guys were running out offering different amounts to buy it. The story was that on the way home the guys could use tools and equipment on the ship to repair the vehicles , make parts if needed, repaint them and sell them when they got home. They knew Ladas well so liked finding them , they weren’t that popular by then , I used to get notes left on the car calling me a traitor.

So, how much does a European car or an American car cost? - One that is complemented by its smell.

Do you pay sales tax when buying a new car? What percent? What is the interest percent on a car loan?

Ronald Regean had a joke about a Russian who wanted to buy a car. After specifying out all the extras he was told by the dealer the car would be delivered in 40 years, time. The buyer asked the dealer if delivery would in the morning or the afternoon? The puzzled dealer asked why? The buyer responded because he had the plumber coming in the morning.

Very valuable piece of history for those who appreciate it. Thank you for your video. Being someone who dealt with Renault, Peugeot, "btw two pos". I simply wouldn't buy them but that's another story . Don't let the hater's comments bother you. You and your lady are on the right track. I wish to visit Russia one day and it's beautiful museums. Your english is amazing , i teie to learn Russian but no dice. Good luck to you both.

I think the same car but with the original JAC JS4 badge sells in China for $6000 less than the one in Russia with the badges swapped to Moskovich 3... Very expensive badges!

Wow! I wonder how they expect to make any sales with prices like that, they look okay, but that is a lot of money for not a lot of car. The name is cool. Thanks for another great video Ivan.

As an expat American living in Brazil I can tell you cars aren't much cheaper here. The average wage for someone in the Sao Paulo area is maybe at best $600.00 a month and to buy a new say Fiat Uno the cost is $25,000.00 so they down payment is at least $5,000.00 and your payments for 5 years will be at least $300.00. Crazy prices and the interest rates here are crazy too 11.75% today. Must be a BRICS thing!😂

I agree with you, if those cars were 10-15,000 dollars they would be good deals. All the displays and screens look like they did 15 years ago in cars here in the US. For a 10,000 dollar car, sure that's acceptable at that price, but for 40,000 dollars I'd be expecting the center console to not look like a knock off Ipad glued to the dash with the last generation display screens that stopped being produced a decade ago.
