Thank you so much 20 years after the car came out. I’m still having a problem but you finally fixed it and the chip is in the key not the fob I don’t even have a fob.
BRO!!! I have an 04 convertible. Same exact problem man. So obviously I don’t have the same speakers but I put em as close to the back speakers as I could, and it worked!!!!!!!! THANK YOU🙏🙏🙏🎊🎊🙌🙌
Np dude took me forever to figure it out and I was the first I could find on yt that did this but saved my ass many a time and a bit of money too I'm sure
I've also heard if u disconnect the battery for a while and reconnect it that could work and if all else fails check the connector peice under the battery holder sometimes it gets water in it and corrodes
Unlock it and toss the original key fob and install a aftermarket alarm. The computer will detect that you have the right key and bypass the original car alarm system.. And should disable anti-theft when it goes through the boot processs ☺ usually on the second attempt to start.
The first time this happened to me it cost me 700.00 before the last mechanic said it turned out to be a fuse. Its happening again and I had them order the fuse, but as a woman who knows nothing about cars lol i dont know which fuse it is there are 3 in the relay box marked 30. Going to try a couple more of these fix's before i try to figure the fuse out again.
Shit I heard u can get the key programmed at a ford a dealership and that should do it but I never tried that so idk anyway good luck on tryna fix it if u find something something that works come back here and post it it might help someone else as well
Mine started doing it today and it was the just battery cable was loose where it goes into the negative terminal. Took it off and cleaned it and it started up
@@bigblackearl6852 I had lost my chip to my key which made the car not start.I found it out it back in the key and the car runs fine. Thanks for the video though.
Thats friggin crazy. My suggestion is change the battery in your key fob. Maybe thats why putting it next to a battery works and why the car thinks its being stolen part of the time. If its got a dead battery, it may not be registering the fob. I dont know. Just a thought. Thanx for the video tho.
@@bigblackearl6852 I have the same issue as well doesn't happen often at all I think the issue is with the key itself I'm pretty sure a new key would fix the issue. I haven't done it cause I'm not to worried about it but now I'm trying to sell my car so I might just spend the 80 bucks to get a new one.
The 10 minute wait worked for me, although I reset everything by unhooking the battery before I found this solution. Resetting does not work on its own.
I tried that it worked a few times but not everytime.I came up with this after my buddy told me try it on my lunch break and it worked thats why in the description and comments I added what I seen worked for others may not work for some this saved me so much time and money on and aint seen this shit before but hey whatever works man I'm tryna help ppl
Woah that’s crazy. My first mustang Gt was a 2000 and never happened to me the 3 years I had it but now with my 99 Gt it happened to me after a year of having it at 135k. Imma try this I hope it works.
I've got another fix for you guys if this one doesn't work. I have a 2004 mustang and last night the alarm kept going off and it wouldn't let me start my car, it would just make a click noise when I turned the key all the way, and then usually the power would go out. How I fix it was: you close the door and put the key in the ignition (you may have to turn it one click and put your car in neutral, you may not) and then you turn your key until the dashboard lights up. Then, quickly, you turn the key up and down to turn the dashboard lights on and off 8 (for some its 12) times. You have to do this in 8 seconds or less. After you turned it off and on 8 times you leave the key turned so that the dashboard is lit up and you press the unlock button on your key fab. Then voila the antitheft system is turned off and your engine will start. Hope this comment helps anyone!! If you have any questions or if it worked for you please leave a comment
That's the hard way to reprogram ur key fob it may temporarily stop the pats system but the problem will return... Chances are if ur dealing with a situation like this the tranceiver that reads the chip in ur key is intermittently failing... This tranceiver relays a radio frequency that is then sent to your pats module that authenticates the frequency and sends it to the pcm if this process Is operating properly anytime the key is in the ignition and rolled forward to the on or run position the pats system is disabled to the best of my knowledge
I'm going to try that, I have a 99 mustang GT, runs excellent and I only use it every now and then but I left it sitting for a month the battery went dead and I was just blinking that and I tried everything that I seen on RU-vid and nothing's working, but I've never tried this so hopefully it works
Bad habit to get into just flash the computer or change key tumbler set and reprogram it with new key ignition timber you'll be left with door and ignition seperate keys but its almost better that way anyways
True I would have considered that an option if I still had the car sadly my ex wrecked it into the cement divider on the interstate a month and a half after I got it :(
Hi , sorry to say but this idea di not work I have a convertible which means no back speakers they are on the sides of the back seat compartment. So this idea when tried didn't work. Just so you know the sensors are in the keys themselves and not the fob the fob is mostly for the doors and trunk. Qell that's all that shows up on my fob is the lock and unlock then the trunk and horn buttons only.
I've looked at hundreds of videos about getting the anti theft light to go away even tried the magnet thing nothing seems to work any other input you can give an getting this stang gt to turn on and stay on...
The procedure is called Anti-theft Reset. With my car I have to lock and unlock the driver side door with the key (not fob) in a particular order. Methods vary in different makes and models.
When it happens now I: 1. Power the windows down a few inches, then all the way up. 2. Lock the doors using power lock. 3. Exit the car. 4. Unlock the driver door using the key (not the fob). 5. Start the car, hopefully. I rarely drive the car and I've read that the fix involves the computer and often goes bad again so I've not tried to fix it.
I tried that. Heard it works for some. Didn't work in my case. The 10 minute wait did a few times but other than that this was the only thing that got mine running
Just a quick detail, on my '02, even when car is locked, the door unlocks and opens when door is opened from the inside. Does that mess up the sequence? Being as you lock the car when you're inside, then go outside and unlock it?
right now I did a 3650 swap so I now have a 5 speed and new computer and went to start it and no sign the fuel pump ever kicked on and had to fuck w the theft system a lot but it would turn over like in the video but not start and is no fuel pressure in fuel rails, don't know if its theft problem or fuel pump, there is power to fuel pump and no blown fuses
@@cainvalencia3438 I put in the original computer back in, the new computer didn’t recognize the key, if I wanted to use the new computer I would have had to get key programmed or rechipped or whatever
Hi, tried this idea but it also didn't work. Will continue to troublenahoot this issue? Still happens engine turns over but won't start. Theft light flashing fast no intervals just a steady fast flash, also the odometer shows dashes instead of numbers, when both are doing this engine won't start. But if the numbers are showing and theft ligjt still flashing it will start and run. No error codes show up, check engine light is off when engine is running, have my own code reader and no codes are showing up. Thinks I am stealing the car. Mine is a 2001 ford mustang GT 4.6L convertible. Engine was replaced and is now a 5.0L. Worked well for 2 years then started this issue 2 years ago now.
Im not sure how to help here mine doesn't do those things just the light and it won't start but I will not be diving further into it. My apologies but I no longer have the car
Haven't gotten it to start going on around 2 yrs already. Damn PATS started giving me issues rt before the pandemic. I get dtc p1260 - theft identified, vehicle immobilized. Got a new transceiver halo ring but no luck. Gonna try to get new keys made. Sigh, hopefully it works....
@@mod95red unfortunately no bro. :( Took the car to a specialized shop but they still haven't gotten it to run. They've had it since Jan. 15, 2022, its May 26, 2022 rn and they had new Ford keys made, got a new (used) instrument cluster but still no luck. Gonna pick it up this weekend, since its been way too long. Not sure what else to do, taking it directly to a stealership to have it reprogrammed there? Gonna try to hot-wire it like in movies, idk what else to do...
So I’ve had this problem on a 98 dropped my key it broke the glass that’s right I said glass chip in the key I had to get two reprogrammed for 150 in the situation I have now a 1999 the car has been sitting for well over a year but from watching this video I believe that the magnets on the speaker may have actually charged the copper wrapped in glass I will definitely be trying this tomorrow and if it works it will be very interesting a strong enough magnet would charge it for a longer period of time if this is the case the key fob simply controls the doors trunk alarm will not deactivated pats
Hung the same problem... driving down the road car TURNS OFF.. Theft light blinking and not won’t turn over. Have fuel spark and crank. Battery is brand new.. and my steering wheel won’t lock.. kinda lost right now
Thats true before I got the job I had at the time I was just gettin stoned and I'd vacuum once every 6 months or so I was never home after that i had another job I'd barely sleep but I've moved since
i’ve been having this issue except when i turn my car, the car doesn’t even try to turn over it just makes a loud clicking sound as if it was the starter. but when i disconnect and reconnect the battery, it turns on just fine. i’m at a total loss if y’all can help in any way i’d appreciate it, thanks! ‘99 GT
Dunno bout that man u may just need a new starter but I'm not sure I'm far from a mechanic but I pinned ur comment hopefully someone can help ive also listed a few fixes I found online that didnt help me but seemed to help others as my own pinned comment but ive personally never heard of that I'm currently trying to buy a an 03 coyote swapped 5 speed for 8k we will see how she goes
@@jordannn392 thanks man ended up falling through dude was pretty firm at 10 was a nice car though rode nice and sounded good I'm thinking of just a gt and a coyote motor and doing the swap myself I already have some parts from where I was planning to swap the v6 in the video to a coyote but my ex wrecked it. Anyway gl with it man this issue cost many lunch breaks before finding a solution
I was having the same exact issue as you last night. I tried a bunch of different things for like 3 hours stuck in a parking lot. What ended up working for me is while the alarm is still going off you turn the key so that the dashboard lights up and then turn it back so that it turns off. You do that really quickly 8 (or for some people 12) times under 8 seconds and then you press the unlock button on your key fab and then there you go. It turns off the antitheft and allows you to start your engine. I'm not sure why these stupid antitheft systems keep malfunctioning but I'm going to see if theres some place that can completely remove my antitheft system for me
I should add that earlier today when I went to the store it happened again, and I did the same fix I described in my last comment and it worked. Same thing for when I left the store. I'm really hoping this isn't something that's going to happen every time I go to drive my car now but if it is then hopefully atleast my fix will continue to work
Could be. For me though the car was fine while moving only would do it after I shut it off and try to start it again it happened allot but not Everytime but lmk how my method goes it worked Everytime for me
@@inquire7148 yea it ended up being the fuel pump fuse in the bay, the 20 amp, but it kept popping the fuse so i had to trace what wire was fucking it up and my o2 sensors were hanging/melted together at the h/xpipe causing it to surge/short out
I changed my transceiver but still no luck. Got it on Amazon for like $ 35 was hoping it would resolve the issue but still the same thing. Car won't start. :(
Maybe on the video but in real life I don't hjt lock when I try to start it and it still had this problem sometimes it would start other times it wouldn't and it was annoying af but this worked for me everytime for as long as I owned the car
@@gunna9289 hey thats awesome man have fun on ur drive ima unpin u though no offense or nothing but just leaves more space for people who still need other solutions
I hate to tell everyone that says it worked for them, that fob has NOTHING to do with car starting. The chip that the transceiver reads is inside the key
@@bigblackearl6852 ya thats why someone can lose their fob and the car still start. The transponder that is "energized" once key is turned on is read by the transceiver around the ignition and sends a signal to the pcm saying what the key ID is and the pcm says ok this ID is programmed to start or no it's not
@@bigblackearl6852 I changed the transceiver mine still did it, I dug a razor blade around the chip at the edge of the black part of the key where the little square is and it started to work, gonna get new keys made soon, only one I got for this car, I guess I was wrong and it’s the key...
@@JohnParisi83 i never tried the razor blade thing. I did change the battery in mine but that didn't fix the issue. Either way glad something worked for u man
