New Edition are so phenomenal and man you can’t blame our girls so much in love with them. Bobby, Mike, Ralph, Ron and Rick man our brothers where the real deal New Edition.
I do it because they are iconic. Boys to men and so many boy bands credit NE for opening the doors for them. I believe any group or person who paved the road and broke through barriers. Should be honored....❤❤❤
The Human Durag Flap no that's not how old are you because if you from back in the day then you stupid as fuck I was born in 2006 and even I know who is who
Dang, Bobby is such an adorable, fineee chocolate drop and his voice is sooo cute. He was and still is my NE Man Crush!!!!😍😍❤❤💕💕 There will never be another BB.
Ralph and Bobby both had that star quality but Ralph had that voice and the looks. You can't even lie NE would have never made it with Bobby out front. Ralph was and is that dude his voice and theatrics/hand movements are legendary within this group.
Ms.Shantel I am a true NE fan unlike yourself which means that I have nothing bad to say about any of them. Just so you know, management was going to give Bobby equal lead time as Ralph because of his star quality before he was voted out of the group. He is definately adorable, a great singer, charismatic, and could move an audience with his dynamic swagger and sex appeal. There was never competition between them because they were brothers who loved and supported each other. It is evident that you like so many other haters are not confident in who you like because you need to downplay his brother. That is so sad and distasteful not to mention very immature for your age. Please try to get the facts before spewing out untruths just to satisfy your ego. SMH Bobby was the most successful of all the NE family. No one can touch his notoriety or career success. Respect the legendary R&B king.
Ralph actually stated that when the group was initially formed, Bobby, Ricky and Ralph were all supposed to share the lead vocals but Maurice Starr and their record label thought that Ralph would be best suited to be the #1 Lead
you can really see how much Ralph Tresvant, already at such that young age, knows how to work the "crowd" so to speak and has the most star power...hence why he was the lead singer I assume.
Ronnies little part proves he could hold a tune , they didn't give a change for a longer part especially when they were younger . i'm tired of everyone saying ronnie couldn't sing at all . he probably couldn't hold a larger tune like ralph & bobby but dang it could've had longer parts . i feel like ronnie's voice was so underrated 🤷🏽♀️
Yes! He also had a solo on Jealous Girl that showcased his vocals...the part where Biv does his "breakdown"...On .NE Heartbreak he sang a little too. I wished they had encouraged him to co-lead on a few songs...I know he said he was shy but that would have been good for his brand.
Boy back in the day when boys wore there pants up to their waist and belts too!! lol I was12 when this came out I loved them then and still today, my kids shake their head and laugh when I break out in song
This takes me back to some of the greatest memories. I was a 12 year old new edition fan when I went to my first concert n it was new edition, midnight star, the Barkays etc. I will never forget that concert. Bobby had a falsetto just as good as Ralph's. They even sounded similar n if you didn't know them apart could mistake one for the other...I felt like I lost a relative when Bobby left n was pissed when they did that count me out video with Ricky lip synching his verse. I can't wait for them to start back touring together. My last concert was RBRM,now we need all 6 back together........Shannon b
You can definitely tell Maurice Starr was the one who dressed New Edition in those outfits, because some of those same fashions he sported on the next group he'd later create, New Kids On The Block.
Yeah, I had ALL of the NE posters and music! Loved them! My room was a total representation of it back in the day! I would love to see a group come close to that today :-)
ANYBODY REMEMBER WATCHING MUSIC VIDEOS FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY EVENINGS AND NIGHTS SEEING THIS VIDEO. THOSE WERE GOOD TIMES. THIS GENERATION DON'T KNOW GOOD MUSIC AND FUN TIMES LIKE THAT.
I never knew that Bobby was singing that one part, him and Ralph sounded a lot a like. They even let Ronnie have a little part in there. They was tight to be so young too.
All of us are around the same age.I remember them on the Jerry Lewis Telethons. They were Like 12 or 13 years old before they became famous!. He would give new artists a moment to shine . And They Shined! They song " Popcorn Love". I will never forget it. That was 40 years ago. Proud of my age- I was 12 at the time! Saw History in the making- NEW EDITION! TIMELESS
What a lot of y'all don't know is that this video (along with "She Gives Me a Bang") was filmed in London, England in the Spring of '83. I believe "Candy Girl" was a number 1 hit there first before the American charts got a hold of them.
OMG...take me back...I was in middle school 1983 - 1986...those were days...we had soo much fun..we couldnt wait to get the monthly school newspaper to see who had crush on who by the shout out page - u sent a shout out to that crush thru a song dedicated to that person...child's play..it was fun lol
My grandmother took me to see New Edition in 1983 after bingo at the clay house inn in bermuda, she loved this song, she sang it all the way home after the show.
