Dr. Ken Berry used an interesting phrase in his interview with Dr. Westman: "I think this is what I believe currently". Too bad more people on the internet aren't as self aware...
Happy holidays to you both. So great to see the father-daughter team together again. Thank you for that review. I would not have guessed the chocolate flavor would taste as well as it did.
We were genuinely surprised as well. After it sits in the fridge for while, all the cocoa powder dissolved. It's a nice change of pace from the usual fruit flavored drink packets.
@@SeriousKetoI like the LMNT chocolate flavors by themselves with hot water or even jazzed up more by mixing in some butter or cream. But you don’t need nut milk, in my opinion, to make a yummy hot chocolate.
Courtney is really growing up beautifully!! Need sunglasses to watch her 😍 Her humor, education & class are brilliant! 😎💎 I don't remember hearing the equivalent amounts of electrolytes in the 2 contenders just that the capsules were less...?? Thank You for all the work You do for us!! & for sharing Your wealth (You, Terri, Courtney, Connor, Colton)!!! Pray You have so much more in 24 ☺️🏆🗝️
I watched Chris and Miriam this morning. He's such a smart man. Looking forward to an order of these to try out. Less salty sounds good to me. And a better price always helps. Thanks for your input. Happy New Year to you and your family 🎉 See you in the new one.
It's actually not that much cheaper, when you consider LMNT's free shipping without making you buy so much first (especially for those of us who can't afford the huge expense). And LMNT offers a no questions asked exchange or money back guarantee if you don't like it - or a flavor - which I've used and they were great about it! I will try SALTT though, when I can save up enough (still recovering financially from trying the Keto Chow - which I liked but too expensive!).
Hey Steve and Courtney! Enjoyed that father daughter duo, you guys rock. I haven't tried any of the electrolytes except the keto chow drops so it looks like i get to do some comparisons as well. Thanks for the review as always!
How you have a Happy New Year! Enjoy the time off. I'm going to order these, probably just the fruit flavors for now, give it a try! I read the packaging as Salt-Ts (since it was dual Ts). 😄
I use propel powder for flavor, bulk potassium citrate and magnesium sulfate, AKA Epsom salt, dissolve in water, the potassium and magnesium become free ions, the MOST absorbable/available forms of minerals. @4+g potassium, and 600mg of magnesium/day. Mear pennies, though I plan on switching to potassium nitrate when I use all of the citrate. The Propel is BY FAR the most expensive, 30¢ per.
Happy New Year Steve and family, wishing all a healthy, happy and prosperous 2024. Personally, I just take magnesium glycinate 2x/day, use potassium chloride and redmonds or Himalayan salt in daily bone broth and 2x per week make dashi (Japanese stock) for miso soup that contains Irish seaweed (iodine) miso and maybe some scallions (no tofu of course) and finally my fill of mostly raw oysters once a week.
i don't understand why electrolyte products have so much sodium in them? i've heard content creators say they drink 3 or so servings per day. with lmnt, that's 3k grams. yikes. some of us want/need the minerals but either shouldn't use that much sodium or prefer to ingest our on choice of salt in food etc. it seems like the makers of these products eliminate part of their market with the high sodium content. am i the only one who thinks that? i dunno. thanks for the review. good to see you and courtney together.
Marketing has a huge influence on purchasing. LMNT has flooded the YT arena with ads and affiliates. Keto Chow has never let me down,so Im going to give them a buy even tho I do like LMNT. Used your link TY
Hard to say. I've had companies that have contacted me and essentially told me what I should say during my product reviews, how I can't compare them to other products in my review, and that I need to link to their website in the first 3 lines of my video. I have told these folks to move along. If you ever see a video and there's a product link in the first 3 lines, that's a pretty good indication of a company who wants total control over their "affiliate partner".
all the chocolate flavours of LMNT are my favorites! but the recent price increases have made that brand non-accessible for Canadians! so I had to give it up😢 will be looking at pricing of these now to compare...
It will be interesting to see if their electrolyte even can compete with LMNT. After reading their ingredient list, for keto chow electrolyte, they’re using a pretty cheap form of magnesium. I’m sure it’s a great attempt keto chow, but not even re-lyte can compete with LMNT. I am a sucker, though when it comes to keto chow, I will admit that so I will more than likely be giving these a try.
Happy holidays! Thanks for all you do, looking forward to 2024 and reconnecting to the low carb lifestyle and your channel is such a huge help and a motivator so thanks for that also ❤
Thanks for the review, Steve and Courtney! I did place an order using your link/code 😉. I have used LMNT and am currently making my own “Sole” water. Enjoy your week of rest with your family.
I've been enjoying the LMMT Chocolate Caramel as a hot drink with a bit of cream, very delicious. I'm excited to try these, just ordered the "all the things" sampler - thanks for the promo code!
@@SeriousKeto so I'm drinking one right now and I'd say the SALTT Carmel Vibes is similar to the LMNT, but has a bit less of the flavoring, and a bit more "mineral" taste which I think is because it has more potassium and magnesium (which I like). It's not bad though, just different. You know you're drinking a supplement, where the LMNT Chocolate Caramel is like dessert (again, not bad to me, just different.) I'd for sure consider getting these again after trying just this flavor, and I have all the others that I haven't tried yet.
Steve, that is a bookmark, you know to hold your place in a book, haha 😂. LMNT offers a free box when you order 3 boxes. For now I am staying with LMNT. I also got a free Nike hat , stickers and a water bottle with my order from LMNT and I am not an influencer.
Might buy some but I started making sole water with Redmond salt and magnesium powder then adding my own flavorings it was cheaper . Thanks Steve and Cortney
You know, I also hope someone designs a cool new & slightly slanted scooper for use in water bottles very soon-one that actually fits in the bottles when using this type of product-great idea you had! 👍🏻 Enjoy the rest of the year off, Steve. Happy New Year in advance! 🥳
After over half the flavors of KC I have tried have next to no flavor I hope they actually aren’t terrified to add flavor to these. The chocolate malt tastes like white milk so I am having a hard time wanting to try anything new they come up with after hearing Chris make comments that he didn’t want to add more flavor to things. Maybe he is a super taster. If they have an actual reasonable priced sampler box I might try them but it’s going to be hard to beat LMNT , that tastes great , or some of the relyte flavors
Haven’t tried the keto chow electrolytes but just got my LMNT chocolate caramel packets. Intended to try it in coffee as a mocha, but the saltiness made the coffee taste weird. Next decided to try it in hot water - ok, but thin, so I added a couple oz of heavy cream. Great hot cocoa! Perhaps the keto chow version would work well that way too.
Great timing Steve and Courtney! I'm going to ditch my current magnesium supplement as it contains "Natural Flavors" I am a posse member of the ingredient police, and for 2024 I'm going to be really strict and see how this helps my Hashimotos.
The one thing I have never liked about LMNT is that it isn’t the right ratio for a regular 16.9 ounce bottle of water. I would have to try and split a pkt and it never comes out even.. 💋🧚🏻♀️❤️🇺🇸
Merry Christmas Steve! Hugs to your family. I miss your full keto videos. I was 20 total carbs for almost 2 years. Then I tried to transition to about 50. Then I had a major death in my life. And for the second time in my life, I’m on the Mac n cheese, pizza, beer, and sub diet. Fooking Katrina was the first time I ate this crappy. Edit. That was hurricane Katrina. Google it if you’re too young to remember it. I ate a lot of of emergency meals from FEMA.
It actually got better after a couple of hours in the fridge and all of the cocoa powder dissipated. It reminded me a little of YooHoo drinks from my childhood.
Steve, I see below you have not tried LMNT. I'm betting if you contact them, they'll send you a sampler pack, they do support other Keto influencers here on RU-vid. They used to have a sampler pack they'd send you for about $5, but I can't find it on their site right now. Looking at the nutritional information, it looks like SALTT is giving you a lot more potassium and magnesium for the same sodium level of LMNT, so this might be something I'll look into, I'm a huge fan of LMNT, but I have an open mind.
See ya next year, Steve! Thanks for letting us know so we aren't worried! I appreciate that! We use LMNT. I tried the Perfect Keto first and found them not to be tasty enough. I should say, I tried the watermelon flavor since I love the fruit. I should have realized it would be a salty melon flavor, but it didn't register. I do not accost watermelon with salt when I eat the fruit, so it was a big "DUH" moment for me. I ordered another flavor... I am thinking it was a lemonade... and it was much better. After receiving the free sample pack from LMNT, it was obvious to me I would be ordering from them for future orders. Good to see Courtney again! Maybe on your break, you can work on the guitar duet. LOL! I'm certain it's at the top of your list. 😆🤣🙃😊 Praying all God's best on your 2024!
Lol! The first time I tried LMNT chocolate I was hesitant but really liked it. Mixed it with cold water and later found out it's supposed to be mixed in hot water. It tastes great in coffee too. My favorite flavor of there's is raspberry. I might try this brand depending on price.
chocolate salt is so awesome in chai tea...I drink one every night. Let's hope they bring it into the jars as the packets are just too pricey (only LMNT chocolate salt I buy in packets). Otherwise, perfect keto and redmond electrolyte containers.
Great video Steve! What kind of salt does it have? Some electrolyte drinks have REAL salt or Himalayan salt in them. I tried LMNT and chocolate was nasty and I'm a chocolate lover. There is another company called Myoscience that makes a drink called Styx and it has creatine, taurine, and REAL salt which isn't too bad. There are so many on the market now you could do a whole series of videos like the bread and taco wrappers.
I’ve tried all the flavors of LMNT. It’s way too salty for me, which I find surprising. I am a chronic over salter on food, but for a drink it feels too much. 🤷♀️ Might try one of these. Your comparison to Gatorade makes me think I can tolerate this one! 🤗 Thanks for the review! 🙏
The LMNT chocolate ones don't dilute well in the cold water either. I lobed them in hot water, like a hot cocoa. This is how i will try the saltt as well!!
I always put my electrolds in cold water. They taste good that way. Pour half the water out into a cup. Then put your electrolytes in then shake the heck out of them. Then pour the rest of the water back in then shake again. That's how it dissolves good in cold water.
I got the LMNT multi pack, and I thought the same thing that the chocolate was going to be horrible, surprisingly it was pretty good. I wouldn’t buy that one again I definitely like the citrus best but it wasn’t that bad. I like the LMNT but the price is still pretty high at a dollar a pack. I’ve just been putting Redman’s real salt in water and taking magnesium and potassium citrate supplements but the drink is definitely easier. I know you don’t like him, but Dr Berg sells some of this which I chose because it’s the cheapest, 100 servings for $42 I like having the pre-matured portions whether it’s a scoop or a packet, is definitely convenient to just have a pack or a scoop every day. I’m not a huge fan of salt, so I usually mix it with 32 ounces of water or more, and just sip it throughout the day. Does it say what type a sweeteners, or what type of of magnesium and potassium are in it? Sometimes I wonder because there’s a huge difference between magnesium citrate or glycinate and magnesium oxide 🤔
There are 3 net carbs in each Dr. Berg packets. Also…”flavors”. Just want you to know that! It doesn’t show on Amazon or his website…in fact, it’s deceitful, but when the actual product shows up it is on the package.
If the KC Salty packs are more like LMNT, then they are meant to be mixed with 24-32 oz of water. Which may make the price more comparable to the Perfect Keto per serving.
@@SeriousKeto I agree. I guess what I am trying say is even though per serving the packets are more expensive, it is recommended to mix with more water than a standard water bottle which is 12-16 oz ish. At least that is how LMNT works. So in actuality the packets could be considered equal or less in price per serving. I hope that is more clear.
I mix a packet of element with about 12 oz of water or coffee. I truly am a salt lover. I don’t think I would like to drink it if it was in 24 oz or more. It would be like drinking water.
@@DarnabymomAnd LMNT doesn't charge for shipping and has no questions asked satisfaction guarantee. If you don't like a flavor, they'll give you your money back or send you a different flavor of your choice. Great Customer Service. I'll try SALTT eventually, but on a very low fixed income it's hard to save up for an order.
I tried that electrolyte formulated by Dr. Sten Berg, hoping the magnesium would make a noticeable improvement in sleep quality. No luck, but I like it better than weak sea salt water. I spilled some in the headphone jack of my phone and it took a couple days before I was able to get sounds back.
I ordered two of the variety packs. I already love Chocolate LMNT so I can’t wait to try the Coco Loco one. I am already a fan of LMNT Chocolate Caramel so I am looking forward to the SALTT version. I look forward to the watermelon flavor and the citrus flavor. I am a huge fan of the LMNT version. So the price is about the same but Keto Chow gives you a discount with the affiliate link, LMNT does not - they just give you a free sample pack with it so a free 8 packets ($8). I can’t wait to get my delivery in a few days. We will not get all the goodies - the bottle, the fidget spinner, etc. Chris made those for the influencers, they aren’t available for purchase, but they should be. I want one of those bottles, I told Chris on his livestream.
Now I need another Black Friday for ketochow to put them on an irresistible sale! haha I would be interested if you used any in hot drinks to see if they added anything to them as far as flavour is concerned.
Not yet. We got the product and reviewed it the same day so it could release today. I may throw either the caramel or chocolate into my coffee tomorrow.
👋❤ Hi Steve & Beautiful Courtney🌹 I LoVe that you did this video. I have them in my cart but was hesitant to spend $33 + 7 for shipping (I know It's not that much $) but I have very little of it & try to get the biggest bang for my buck. I was also worried I would not like the Chocolate ones. So this have me more confidence ✋ I Love you all and Pray you have a safe & healthy 2024 filled with many Blessings❤ Ps. Courtney cracked me up, you can use it to pick food out of your teeth and 😉😉
Do you ever buy Keto Chow? If so, you can wait until your next Keto Chow order and then maybe you'll have enough for free shipping. But I understand the hesitation when buying a new product.
@@SeriousKeto I just ordered the essential set & 6 pks of the seasonal flavors for me & my daughter for Christmas lol. Great idea though to wait until I can order again 🤗 Thank You!
You can find recipes online to make your own then add a flavor packet like True Lemon (also comes in orange, grapefruit and lime) or flavored extracts. Add whatever sweetener that works for them. Hope this helps!
Dr Berg's electrolytes have 1000mg of potassium. Double what SaltT has. That's the main ingredient I always compare with electrolytes. Tell Keto Chow to up that potassium, and I'll be a customer.
I'm sticking with Perfect Keto. I like the amounts of electrolytes better. I don't mix my powder into a bottle of water to sip. I put it in my morning drink and just drink it. I don't like individual packets. It just unnecessarily adds to the amount we throw away each day. I don't like LMNT because it is so salty so I probably wouldn't like these. I'm unwilling to spend $33 to try them. At least LMNT has the trial pack to test it out. Being a negative Nancy here but I like the black cherry Perfect Keto electrolytes.
The American Heart Association recommends no more than 2,300 milligrams (mg) a day and moving toward an ideal limit of no more than 1,500 mg per day for most adults. Because the average American eats so much excess sodium, even cutting back by 1,000 milligrams a day can significantly improve blood pressure and heart health. The Zesty Orange SALTT drink contains 968mg of sodium. LMNT has 1,000mg of sodium. I question the health benefit of these supplements.
I feel the LMNT has already saturated the keto social media space. At this point, I'm proud that I'm one of the few influencers that doesn't pimp for them. 😉
The best one is dr. Berg's brand. It is $45 for 100 servings, and cruicially has 1000mg potassium per serving. We need about 3000 mg potassium per day. Aslo , he uses higher quality potassium. The downside is that it is harder to disolve. But by far best bang for buck if you compare cost to get 1000mg of potassium per serving from any other product.
Hi…the numerous nice comments I’ve made have never been acknowledged by you…that’s ok…you are busy..LMNT is the cat’s meow…never have been a Keto chow person…even with the Ninja Creami our keto ice cream is better and a lot cheaper….you need to put keto chow electrolytes against LMNT…price is about the same…we have used LMNT for three years…one every day!
This is my first reply! Thank you! I have looked for hearts I don’t think there has been one and I know you have so many to go through…really enjoy most of all your offerings…you put your heart and soul into each one…Happy New Year to you and your family!
While I would prefer to do nothing but cooking videos, I recognize that not all people have the passion, aptitude, or time to make all of their food and/or supplements from scratch. For these folks, pre-packaged products may mean the difference between staying keto and falling off the wagon. It is for these folks that I do these reviews.
While doing an extended fast a year or so ago, I looked up LMNT’s recommended amounts for daily mineral / electrolyte amounts (which I assume their product is based upon). I made my own version using powdered amounts of those ingredients in the same quantity. TMI, but it caused me to spend my time very close to a toilet.
