Hillbilly you better recheck the torque value on your compensator bolt . It should be at least 150ft lbs . I think you looked up the clutch hub nut not the compensator bolt

My dad way back in the days, painted my uncle’s H.D candy apple red. He didn’t have a paint booth but made his own. He said it was the hardest paint job he ever did, but I remember as a kid that it was an awesome color for a H.D. I just wish he would have taught me. That was about 40-45 years ago

This has been a great series on Hillbilly's Harley. Everything from Rick and Christy donating it, to the road trip, to rebuilding it, has been a great story. Now that it's getting close to done, Hillbilly is nothing but smiles, and he's got his *chompers* to go with his new chopper. Great work by Layton Nation!

Not usually a red fan but that bike is gonna look so sweet in that candy! For the derby, gotta have the fab 3, being Robby, Fab Rats n MORR. Hillbilly should be in the mix as well! Would be cool to see a spot in there with an unknown. An up and coming channel! Perhaps a northern Utah channel with a guy that's all about the good times, drag racing and Mopars! Demo derby seems like the next logical leap! 😆😆😆

It still amazes me the differences between my Dad's body shop started in 1946 and Robby's up to date modern shop. Especially the differences between lead and plastic repair methods, paint booth improvements/EPA requirements. The only tool that I haven't seen in Robby's shop is an "English Wheel" (for rounding fenders) But he sure a modern collect of machines and tools. Super professional.

Bike is looking great! Is the new motor bigger than the other one? If so maybe the carb that came with it is the right size for it. Bigger motor bigger carb. Just wondering. Keep up with the nice build and be safe riding it.

Beautiful Candy Apple Red finish! Back in the 60s when we sold PPG Ditzler paint candy apple and metal flake were the rage. I recall that the base coat for candy apple red was a special, fairly expensive, gold coating though silver was also available. The gold seemed to give it a richer color.

Just for the record, you looked up the CLUTCH HUB spec. but you were putting on the compensator nut. Also, if you can put the chain on without taking the clutch hub off, the chain has way too much wear on it and should be replaced. A new primary chain needs the compensator, chain and clutch hub installed as an assembly. Go easy on the red lock tight, you are going to regret it in the future!

Your paint skills are incredible. Something about quality painting that is satisfying....and very zen. That color would also look fantastic on the Charger build.

Hillbilly you did an awesome job on building your Harley! When y'all were asking what color to paint it, I suggested a deep Brandywine for my 1st choice & Candy Apple Red for my 2nd choice, so I'm extremely happy with the color. I normally do not like paint jobs done in any shade of the red family, but for some reason that I don't understand & can't explain why, I love this paint job!! Robbie, you did an awesome job spraying a beautiful Candy paint job, especially in the hot weather conditions. I was born & raised in E. Texas & have always worked in the automotive industry. At the age of 24 my wife & I moved to N. Texas. I've lived in Flower Mound, Tx. which is a few miles north of the D/FW Airport for 32 yrs. & worked at 1 of the larger C,D,Jeep & Ram dealerships in the state for over 17 yrs. in the parts department before I became disabled & unable to work.I looked over every C,D,JEEP & Ram that came into our Body Shop that had been wrecked or stolen & vandalized & ordered all of the parts for the vehicles. I can remember that during the summer months that the most experienced painters that did all of the complete, complex, or high profile paint jobs wouldn't work during normal business hours. They would come in after dark & work throughout the night until dawn so that they were actually painting at a cooler temperature to get the best paint job possible. Thanks for all of y'alls hard work & continuously doing bigger & better things with your channel that benefit the people that are in your area! As far as the derby y'all are having in the spring, you definitely need to invite Paul & all of his crew, Matt & his crew, Roy & his crew. You can also invite Heavy D & Diesel Dave. I think they'd fit in perfectly with everyone & how easily they can destroy cars. I know they went to several of the Cleetus & Cars Crown Vic races & destroyed a bunch of cars there when they were racing & not supposed to be wrecking the cars!!😂😂 plus any of their crew that would want to participate. I know it's going to be a ton of work, but the more youtubers that you can get involved the more sponsorship $ will follow to help the needy. This would be a perfect opportunity to invite Cleetus and his crew which would possibly have him invite you & the rest of the Ohio gang to his events. Maybe Derek Bieri w/VGG. There's so many possibilities out there in youtube land that could make this the biggest demolition derby in history. Just think of the people who could be helped from the proceeds. I'm sorry for such a long comment, but there was a lot of information I wanted to get in!😂😂

Sadly after 1 month of owning it I was forced to lay it down to avoid a vehicle that pulled out in from of me. Insurance declared it a total loss and taking forever to claim responsibility. If I ever get another one I'll have to take a trip to see yours. Godspeed sir!

gremlin bells, they ride at the lowest point of the bike so the can drip the gremlins away from your bike onto the road. Those drips become potholes. A gremlim Bell is only effective if it is gifted to you by someone who cares about you. The bells cannot betransfered from one owner to another if left on the bike, they can be removed and then regifted. if you go down you need to remove all bells from your bike and crush them into the asphault. if the ones on your bike came with it remove them, send them back to the guy who gave you the bike.
