As much as I wish I had sent my dog to Brandon for training before bringing him home ru-vid.comUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU I am so grateful for this down-to-earth, practical guide. His training techniques and tips really work. Thank you as well for dedicating your life's work to rescue dogs, and to rescuing those of us who want the very best for our 4-legged family members.
A puppy from the shelter chose us as her family. She is just a year and it doesn't seem that she has been taught. Your videos have been a life saver for us and I can't tell you how much we appreciate them. I find myself coming back daily and then implementing the things I've learned in the evenings with her.
i love the kinda informal, almost vlogging style of this video, it really captures how yall are just people going about your lives and trying to teach a little puppy good manners! it makes everything seem so realistic and normal
I've been using this channel to learn about puppy training so that whenever I do get a puppy I feel confident in my training abilities. This is the best, most helpful and clarifying channel ever and I absolutely LOVE getting to know Inertia. I'm more interested in this than some of my netflix shows right now lol. Love love love 💖
Hi Zak! I'm training my 17 week old Golden Retriever, Lisbeth, with you. When I saw how Inertia hugged you, I immediately put the movie on hold - and 5 minutes after Lisbeth was hugging me. :-D You are an amazing dog trainer and I'm so happy to have you "by my side" on my journey with my first dog. For the benefit of both me and my puppy. Greetings from Denmark.
I’ve re-watched this series like seven times and now my dog is the most behaved she’s ever been! I’ve been following along and spending so much time with her! Even with 6 hours of school, I still make time to be with her. Best thing I’ve watched in a while!
Is no one gonna talk about how dedicated Zak is to training Inertia AND making vids? Not many you tubers with 2 and a half million subs are still so dedicated to commenting and liking fans comments. Really appreciate that
While getting Inertia to ignore a leaf......”Get it? Leave it.” 😂 ❤️ Love the fact that Zak can stay lite enough to kid around! Because training SHOULD be fun.
Came across your channel while as we are getting ready to get our new Aussie puppy. Love how you break things down and constantly remind us to give them a minute to respond as they are currently learning a lot.
Another great video. As well as some fab puppy training advice its lovely to see anertia coming on so well.... Things aren't perfect but that's the reality of having a puppy.... Most things take time, patience, care, attention and trust. Great job as always
Zak, you're simply the fucking best. Thank you for always keeping the pup's well being at the forefront of your mind when training/raising your pets. This is the correct way to train and I wish every dog owner was as thoughtful as you are, unfortunately, that's not the world we live in but it warms my heart that you're educating others (educate is the correct word, there's no doubt you've done serious research into psychology/learning methods etc) to do it YOUR way! Love you so much brother, and Inertia is the cutest
I’m going through this series because I’m planning on training an assistance dog for myself, and funnily enough the organization that I’m training through recommended your videos for pre-assistance dog level, essential puppy training! You’re awesome Zak!
Hi Zak, I also watch her progress on Instagram, but RU-vid is my favorite place to watch. Instagram serves as a good reminder for me to go to RU-vid to watch.
I am getting a border collie in two weeks and I am as scared as I am excited. It is many years since I had a dog last time (well, before you could google in all the info lol) so I am heavily relying on your videos. Thank you for all the good work!
This is the second episode this week! I really hope you guys like this one! I love reading your feedback! Follow me on instagram to keep up with Inertia's progress and for more daily video content! instagram.com/zakgeorge I’m on TikTok now too! Follow me there: vm.tiktok.com/5xyXYC/
Zak, this has to be my most favourite video of Inertia’s so far!! Thank you so much for this!!! It’s so comforting to hear you’ve been having similar issues to Roxie and I (Roxie is my 5 month 1 week old Cockapoo) things like the whining in the crate, door bell. To be clear, it’s sad that Inertia is suffering with a little separation anxiety, but to know how normal this is is incredibly comforting! Thank you again, Zak, Bree, Indi and of course Inertia!! Xxx P.S I look forward to every one of your uploads, on here and IG, FB, TikTok etc!!
Aside from loving everything about your training, I really appreciated seeing you recognise Inertia getting frustrated and 'over' the leash training. I have an 11 month old Kelpie and while sometime our training is great, other times it just will not happen because SHE doesn't want it to. So, I guess it's up to me to understand that and not push her too much. It only makes her more defiant anyway, lol.
Wish I''d found your channel a month and a half ago when we first got our two new pups! But catching up on lots watching you train Inertia! If you have tips on how to train TWO at once, I would love to see them!
I am enjoying following you and Inertia. I find it incredible that a person can actually avoid saying “No” to a puppy. Impressive. We will be picking up our 10wk old puppy tomorrow 10/17. I made sure I went back and rewatched videos 1-5 withI Inertia. They are going to be invaluable. Thanks for all the knowledge.
Ive got two dogs ive been watching you videos from the start and honestly can say they are both perfect puppies because of your advice! We are now taking what weve learnt from them and you to foster rescue dogs and get them ready for their new homes ❤ im actually hoping to start a youtube channel of my own at some point to follow their progress ❤
I've started following you and Inertia on Tik Tok! I love how you're showing step by step how to do a trick. I love your videos and I can't wait for the next one!
Loveeeed it!! Thanks Zak! We are adopting a puppy and your videos have given us the insights we need to start this journey! Thanks! (I am in love with Inertia by the way! 😍)
Wow you have her doing so many cool things! I have tried to teach my puppers to wave but she gets confused and thinks I am asking for high five even when I wave it!! It’ll get there but I have taught her to out away her toys on command and its awesome!!!
Mid-week video FTW! My wife and I always look forward to checking out your new videos on Monday night after work (we're in Australia), but getting an extra video in the week, like this one, is almost like Christmas in October! Thanks Zak! (and the rest of your production team)
J BR I don’t have a dog either but have been watching for a while (a few years off and on). I am not in a great place for a dog right now but when I move I will be ready!
Hi Zak, love love your videos, can you give me some ideas of the wait before meal times. My dog is normally starving and it's really hard for him to wait. What about a video about waiting on food. Thank you love your amazing work!
according to these videos your grass grows entirely to fast :) Love your videos and seeing that even a trainer has challenges. What a great breed to use for this series as well. Love her attitude.
Oh my gosh, Inertia is doing so well! I love watching her progress, on RU-vid and Insta. I may just have to create a Tictok account just to follow her. I'm picking up my mini dachshund puppy in about 3 weeks. I know the breed is known to be a bit stubborn, so let's hope I have success in training some fun tricks. I have both of your books, so I feel like I've got this!
Hi Zak! Thanks a lot for your videos. I love the way you insist on fetch :) In a future video, can you address how to train your dog to give in the hand? My pup is getting really good at fetch (and bring too), but he always comes with his head down, object close to the ground. As I am in wheelchair, it's a little tricky to get the object then.. Thanks a lot!
BORDER COLLIES ARE MY FAVOURITE IM SUPER OBSESSED WITH THEM

At what age should your dog be able to walk nicely? My lab puppy (6 months old) can only walk nicely when tired and close to home. He is an energetic Labrador who isn’t as food motivated as other Labradors. His leash walking is doing okay, but at what age do you think he’ll be able to have a better focus? I expose him to many smells and distractions every day to make it more normal. What should I do when he will just NOT stop pulling? I can sometimes wait up to 10 minutes of him just pulling, and me trying to stand still.
It's less about age and more about training technique! Training is all about communicating with your dog effectively. Zach has a bunch of videos on his RU-vid channel you can search about loose leash walking. Kikopup also has a lot of great videos.

Caitlin Bird I have watched them all and he simply just cannot focus for more than half a second and I’ve been training him for months now
@@Dingdongbingaling Competition style heeling is different than not pulling on a leash. Not pulling is much more simple and a 6 month old can easily do it with the right environment.
Inertia reminds me so much of my puppy Piper with the way she moves and some of her sassy eye movements (and that puppy biting, oof!). She's 1 1/2 now, still a puppy (albeit an 80 lb puppy), but I'm nostalgic for the early days!
We don't have our puppy yet, but we're expecting our new addition in early 2021. I've been addicted to watching your Inertia training videos, and I was wondering when did you stop using the clicker for training? I saw it a lot in the first few episodes, and I don't remember seeing it in this episode, but only about 7 or 8 weeks has passed since you brought her home in this video.
WisconsinBound Zak made an Instagram post about this recently!! You should be able to find it pretty easily on his profile, it’s a photo of inertia with the word “WAIT!” in big text 🤗
I tried to watch some other dog potty training video's. But it didn't work well, so I saw your puppy training video, and got interested in your channel. I like to do all of my research from your channel! :) Also, i subscribed!
Hi. Do you have any advice on treating possessive aggression? My puppy is almost 9 months old and has started to show aggression towards my partner at night time when she realizes we're getting ready for bed. This is a really great series by the way!
Hey! New to your channel and I love it! We are getting ready to welcome a golden retriever puppy soon and your videos are a lot of help! I would like my golden to come along with me on my daily runs. How can I train him to do that? Is it the same training as walking? I ask because I would think If I run, then the puppy might get excited and try to out run me?
I'm really enjoying your videos and great advice! But I wonder, how do you keep Inertia and Indie separated, when they don't have "play dates"? Considering they live under the same roof
Ida Due Arvesen when dogs are puppies it’s very helpful to keep them away from other dogs which serve as a distraction. They have to learn how to behave before they get basically “full access” to the house and even another dog that lives there. It makes it a lot easier to train puppies when they’re alone without other dogs getting in the way. He probably keeps them apart especially because he’s almost always actively “training” her. He has to jump into action when she’s not behaving and it’s way easier to control those scenes without another dog there. :)
Loved the video, I always tend to forget that she's still a little puppy and try to overestimate her size because of the video until you pick her up! :P
Zak I am getting a border collie puppy in a couple days. I noticed that your exercise pen for inertia has an adjustable height. Can you please tell me the brand and model for that pen? Thankyou for all the great training videos, keep it up!
