Damn, you guys just don’t stop with the innovations. I got the Ultra 2024 and as a newbie to airbrushing it’s so wonderful to use. I don’t hesitate the way I used to and it has also helped me develop better control with my other brushes that includes the non H&S ones as well. Even though I have a good arsenal right now I might just have to purchase this one also. Looks like it would be so much fun to use.
My first airbrush was an H&S Evolution Silverline 4 years ago, then I got the Squidmar limited Evolution edition in February 2022. The Squidmar was so much smoother and nicer than the Silverline. I just ordered the Squidmar Evolution 2024 Black Edition and I am excited to start using it, I think the improvements presented in this video will genuinely improve the experience. Anything that leads to less strip down and cleaning during a painting session is fantastic.
This and the ultra look amazing, I'm a fabricator welder and have a good understanding of machining, these just blow my mind. I can see HUGE things for H&S in the coming year. I have the original ultra and it changed the way I paint forever, so gotta try to save for one of these. Awsome job peeps 👍

I would like to thank H&S for their innovations, sincerely. I am a miniature painter and for along time we have had to repurpose airbrushes designed for other art/artists. I am so very happy for the breath of fresh air in this space. For far too long this space has been ignored. I can see that H&S has been speaking to artists and incorporating the same things I wish they would fix or add. People entering into this hobby space will have a much easier time expressing themselves with tools that allow them to do so. So please continue to innovate and improve your products. Well Warrick you convinced me on your new Ultra 2024 , so I am joining the H&S family there . But now I also want to get the New Evolution too . Stop making so good of brushes please lol . My current brush is the Iwata Eclipse HP-CS . I think that might be put away in the back of the drawer soon . I am still a beginner with about 1 years experience, so thats why I ordered the Ultra. But I so want to be able to do smaller detail paint on my model tanks . So I will also look at the Evolution. Thanks for being innovative and responding to the feed back of the users out there

I bought one of these last weekend to replace a broken airbrush. I have more than a few friends who use H&S but until recently haven't had the money to upgrade. Well I had it and went out on a limb and I'm glad I did. This has actually got me excited to try and do detail work with an airbrush over purely brush work. But seeing a lot of the tech behind it is really quite fascinating and I can't want to see what you guys do with the Infinity.

I watched through various parts of this and i see a very detailed description under "two elements" of some properties were changed internally to increase the responsiveness/ergonomics etc. Is the new needle clamping nut design part of the same goal? Today, I bought the solo one of this beauty. It would be already fourth of my H&S airbrushes. I am super safisfied with the old ones. So for precision work this would be right one for me.
I finally had time to try mine and compare it to 4 brushes i own(wont name them). Now i think i wont be using old brushes anymore(maybe 0.2 but i need to compare it with Ultra). Sprayed 3 cups of primer with no cleaning, it didnt clog and didnt care if i put thinner or no. I love it.
Yes, absolutely. The new spares for this Evolution will be published soon, and of course, all head system parts are backward compatible and forwards compatible with all H&S airbrushes, as well as heads from other H&S models being fully compatible with all other H&S products.

I'm interested in the way you pinch the tip to back-mix thinner and paint in the cup. I'm always worried that it might get paint up into the airbrush body. But it looks like it's designed to mitigate that? Would you recommend this as a reasonable way of regularly mixing paint and thinner, or just more of a "can do it if you like"?

My first proper airbrush some 15 years ago was the Evolution Silverline 2in1 alltough I hardly ever used the 0.4mm as the 0.2mm setup proved to be my sweetspot. Since then I've used/owned over 15 different airbrushes from a variety of good brands and still own most of them. This makes me eager to get your Infinity 2024 later on when it will be released. I really like most of the updates you've come up with for the Evolution 2024 but I must say that the one that really strikes home with me is the shortening of the front body.Oh by the way, I'm a scale modeller so that's what I use my airbrushes for and my favourite paint to work with is the thin Mr Paint Lacquer paints... Thank you for doing your high quality airbrushes!
You will be pleased to know that I got my one yesterday and all I can say is WOW! IMHO the trigger action is better than my Infinity, I put a FPC valve on it and it works like a dream.
just received my Evolution 2024 and the atomisation is amazing. please release an optional needle cap (that is similar to the Evolution or Infinity) for the Ultra 2024 so I can start using that again. currently in Prime and Base mode, paint keeps getting caught on the cap and the need for constant cleaning makes it borderline unusable.
My goodness Warrick this video said it all , I'm a fan boy for sure I own 5 Harder and Steenbeck airbrushes and just ordered the new squidmar ultra and both versions of the squidmar evolution.........I use all my airbrushes every day and look forward to using the new and improved versions .......also looking forward to seeing if there's anything new with the infinity in the near future. My biggest gripe with all H&S Airbrushes was always the Trigger Pull. I want instant paint when I pull back the trigger. If this has finally been improved to Iwata Level I would make the switch in the blink of an eye

I have an untouched Infinity CR+ that life has not let me get near for months now, and I had already bought two spare washers as per DRED FX's famous trigger pull fix, but if you ever decide to put spare parts to rectify this on sale I'm sure I (and many others) would be over the moon (and be more than willing to part with our cash)! Edit: I've just seen that you've already answered this question elsewhere in the comments, so don't worry!
At this point I expect you guys to announce the Infinity 2024 next month. Also, I kind of wish I had known about the new Evolution. I got the new Ultra when it released and I am super happy with it (aside from some issues with the seal on the nozzle), but if I had known the Evolution was getting an update I would have waited for that.
It looks amazing, I have most of your airbrushes, but find that the evolution is my main brush, so maybe time for another addition to the family. Will it be possible to get one without the cutout on the handle exposing the needle chucking nut? With my hand size I find that my fingers interfere with fine control, as the chucking nut keeps catching on my finger. Thanks for some great airbrushes!
We have re-pitched the thread on the handle. It is much finer now, so that it is possible to have a range of adjustment of the resting point without creating a gap at the closure where the o-ring no longer grips the handle and keeps it locked into position. This is specifically for people like you, so that you can set the cut-outs top and bottom, whilst having no gap showing between the handle and the middle piece, and also ensuring that you have fully closed smooth sides on the handle in that orientation to address your concern. Go ahead and purchase one, and if you find that it's still a problem, we'll make you a special handle without the cut-outs :-)

I have Evolution Silverline 2.0 for a year now, and it's my workhorse for scale model painting, I love it! However, you managed to upgrade my biggest two drawbacks: "empty travel" on trigger when no paint is coming out, and cleaning area between paint cup and needle packing screw. Nicely done! 👍👍 I have a big question: is trigger/needle carriage mechanism backwards compatible with Evo 2.0 ?
Happy to hear that we're hitting your marks :-) thanks for the comment. With regard to your big question: it's a question to be very careful of. The Evolution 2024 has the following parts common with its predecessor: the airvalve spring retaining screw; the air valve plunger; the air valve o-ring; the air valve spring; the 5ml cup; and that's it... for example, if we did make the trigger/ needle carriage mech backwards compatible, would you expect that your old model airbrush now has the trigger feel and performance of the EVOLUTION 2024? It cannot, just with those parts, because a part of the reason why the new Evo feels so immediate at the front of the trigger is also because we have done a huge amount of work in analysing and working with how the air moves through the body to reach the head, from the point at which it leaves the air valve. So the "quality" of the air (smoothness, consistency, volume, evenness of distribution around the nozzle) that arrives in the aircap is much higher, leading to a better response. Yes the trigger is a part of it, but it's not all of it. So we will answer this question in time, and when we do, we will give a comprehensive reasoning and information set about why we've taken the routes we have. What I can tell you with absolute confidence though is this: if you love your Silverline, then if you do take home one of our Evolution 2024 models, you will not regret it. It's a spectacular realisation of the Evolution workhorse concept, and I'm totally confident in recommending it!

I don't expect my Evolution 2.0 to perform as good as Evolution 2024, I've seen from this and Ultra 2024 video how much engineering effort goes into improving these airbrushes, and it would be unrealistic to expect similar performance from older ones. I asked this because I was curious about possibility of making my Evo trigger more responsive ( when I get a new airbrush I still won't get rid of this one, I love working with it too much to get rid of it, it was more along the line of improving it a bit using original manufacturer parts).

Hi Warrick! Amazing looking airbrush. I actually got one myself for Christmas (the squidmar black edition), but I'm having trouble understanding the build of the airbrush and what each part does. I've been airbrushing for about a year now and I wanted to upgrade my ability to spray finer details, since I mostly paint miniatures, and so it seemed like the evolution was a good choice for that. But so far I haven't been able to properly use the airbrush for that. Would you happen to have an instructions Manual or something of the sort? I checked the website but didn't find anything. I also tried changing the needle/noozle and was at a loss 😅 thanks again and keep up the great work!

This is amazing! I use a few airbrushes for painting model kits and even though I absolutely love the design and feel of the Evo CR plus I already have, I never was a big fan of the trigger response itself. But here the subtle changes you have made in this area makes me want to try one out as soon as it becomes available!
This looks beautiful, but I already have a Giraldez Infinity and probably don't need another airbrush. :) Will it be possible to buy the new 0.28 and .45 heads separately and use them with the Giraldez?
I have just ordered one, I already have an Infinity CR Plus, but I have got multiple sclerosis, and this might be easier. Can I fit a smaller needle to my CR Plus for tiny figures and small parts?
Hi Kevin - certainly, but if you have ordered the 2in1, then try the 0.28mm that comes with it first before you buy any other finer heads. The performance is incredible for fine detail. But if you want to fit the smaller head, then you can. Please don't buy the 0.2mm however - this is a waste of your money - this new head works finer than that, and uses the 0.2mm needle too. If you want to go SLOWER, then the 0.15mm still offers an increase in performance, and of course will fit. But try this 0.28mm first :-)

Hey Tony - it works, but in my opinion it is not optimal. On the 0.28mm it's OK, but on the 0.45mm it chokes the full pressure air supply a little. We are releasing a new fPC specifically for the 2024 airbrushes soon.

Hi Mark - yes, for sure. It is one of the rules here at H&S that you can interchange heads between all of our airbrushes. We maintain that rule on all of our new airbrushes.
Man, I made the mistake of jumping straight into the Infinity. Very tempted by the 2024 brushes, they sound so much easier to maintain and trouble shoot, then work my way up to the big boy. And wait you can just pince the front to backflush? I was using the yellow cap because I thought the needle was extremely sensitive and I was afraid of bending it. Time saver.
Not at all a mistake - the Infinity is a great airbrush, of course! With regard to the back flush - yes just pinch. The forks prevent you from bending it. Once you have developed the feel, you'll find that you can even pinch it even with the needle cap removed and you won't damage it. This one of the points of the system - each needle cap becomes progressively less protective with more access, until you have learned the feel to either be without it, or using the very minimal Giraldez Sketching Caps.
Hi Martin - please understand that when we refer to the new trigger action on these airbrushes, there are so man contributing factors which RESULT in the feel at the trigger. The changes which make the difference are in the trigger, the body, the needle carriage, and even the airways within the airbrush - these all contribute to this. I will create a video and a reference document which covers all the parts which can be interchanged, as well as an assessment of the effect, and whether it is worth paying for. Please hold off for that before you spend any money! For example, I can tell you without doubt that putting an EVOLUTION trigger into an old Infinity will not improve the trigger response by much more than a few percents. However, if you are interested in it purely for the larger button, then it might be of value to you. I'll give much more information soon! Best regards, W
@@harderairbrush Thanks for the detailed reply Warrick! I've had my Infinity for almost 2 years now and I always use it when I'm painting my 1/700 scale models. My only complaint would be how I'll need to pull the trigger a bit further back to get the paint to start coming out, that's why I'm not able to fully utilize the quick lock mechanism on the Infinity that often. Since my Infinity is still relatively new, it would be a shame if I ended up replacing it while other folks still use the same Infinity for almost 10+ years!
Yes, certainly. Actually we did not change the 5m cup at all on this one, only a small adjustment to the interior of the 2ml to facilitate easier cleaning and a very tiny tweak to the exterior shape just to let us carry the volume a little lower down in the cup.

Good to see all the new developments at H&S.I love my Evolution CR-Plus and AL-Plus. I'm not a fan of cut-away handles and limiters so the only part that I'm interested in is the shorter body. The 2024 Infinity will basically just a Giraldez version without his bling bits. I still think for fine artists, there is a place for a side feed based on the Iwata system.

Is there a flow vs trigger/needle travel graph available for the new evo? I'm very intrigued by the new performance of the evo. One thing I found while testing my airbrushes is that nozzle sizes don't tell you how an airbrush sprays. I've got a mid price airbrush and a budget airbrush with both 0.2mm nozzle. Surprisingly, the mid price airbrush sprayed 2 times more fluid than the budget airbrush despite having the same nozzle size.
Just order the new 2024 evolution, Not really a beginner and not good enough to be intermediate so hopefully this was a good choice, currently have a paasche talon. Can't wait till you all start shipping :). Keep the great video's comming

Hello - and thank you for the question! The process of building an aluminium airbrush is different in many ways, yes. One of the issues that we have, for example, is that aluminium chip (or shavings) from the machining processes doesn't break up at the tool head like brass does, so we need to go into the machines several times a day to remove the aluminium chip so that it does not wrap around the tool heads in these very long strings, and ultimately cause tool breakages. This also means that we cannot run the machines overnight, as we can with brass. So this is the most significant area that aluminium adds cost to the airbrush - simply because we cannot get the same numbers off a CNC machine per day as with brass. Therefore, if we replaced the base model with an aluminium one, yes, the lowest possible cost of that model would indeed be higher. Hope that helps your understanding of it :-)

Hello, I recently purchased an Ultra 2024 and have recently added a Evolution Silverline 2 in 1 to my collection which I have not yet used. Could I please ask how is this better than the Silverline and is it worth my while returning the Evolution and ordering this? Please help as I am in a bit of a dilemma. Thanks
Hey Bobby - hoping that the video explains exactly that question rather well! Generally speaking, of course it is a big step forward - that's the purpose of the all the development and investment that we've put into these new models. However, even though it is a big step forward, the Silverline is still a great airbrush. I hope that this goes some way to answering your question.
I have an older model of Infinity which has been my #1 brush. It has brought me a lot of joy. But I truly do want this one. It sounds amazing and while not a bad price, many are now wondering how to make their rent and buy food. America is the Titanic and I can hear the orchestra on the deck. How sad. Hey Scotty... the trigger isn't just the trigger. It's about how the trigger interacts with the body of the airbrush and the needle carriage system. I can tell you 100% that fitting a new trigger to an old airbrush won't give you the performance of the new airbrush. Otherwise, that's all we would have needed to do :-) there will undoubtedly be some benefit, but we haven't yet quantified that to the point where we're ready to ask any money for it! However, we will be evaluating this in the New Year and we will make our recommendations to you then. We didn't design this new Evolution as a series of upgrades. We designed it to be true to the purpose of an Evolution, but to be a brand new airbrush from the ground up, without compromise. The only parts in common are the 5ml cup, the air valve spring, the air valve spring retaining nut, and the air valve plunger. Literally every other part is new. We know that some of the parts will fit, but we have not sufficiently evaluated all of the potential combinations to give our recommendations yet. But we will, and we will make the recommendations as transparent and useful as possible.
Hey buddy... no... sorry I was not clear. I tend to think of the airbrush as one thing, and the headset as another. The needles, actually are unchanged too. The air caps are all changed, and the nozzles are changed BUT... Your 0.4mm needle will work with the 0.45mm nozzle AND the 0.4mm nozzle. Your 0.45mm nozzle will work with ALL 0.4mm needles, and ALL 0.4mm air caps. Your new 0.45mm aircap will work with ALL 0.4mm needles, and ALL 0.4mm nozzles, but it prefers the 0.45mm nozzles. Eventually we will rename the needles as 0.45mm to avoid confusion, and state on the label that they are compatible with the 0.4mm nozzles as well.
In my opinion, you make the best airbrushes. I have 3 different infinities (cr plus, cult of paint, and giraldez) and an evolution AL plus. Looking forward to seeing innovations in aluminum builds and infinity as well. Then i may have to buy a 5th one...
Good question! Mainly because we're terrible suckers for detail and therefore our production start up on the ULTRA was a little later than ideal due to some small tweaks we decided to include for you before starting serial production. And we can't really delay the launch of the Evolution much more as otherwise we would struggle to get them to people before Christmas. So it's a difficult decision on our side! But I can promise you that the Evolutions will not start to ship until the ULTRA orders have been fulfilled. Here at H&S we do operate a very strict policy of fulfilling our orders sequentially, as it's the only fair way. We anticipate that the ULTRA orders for the Squidmar version will be finished by the end of the month. Which is the same as what we said on the launch - delivery in November. Hope that helps answer your question :-) we're doing our best, I can promise you that!
Yes, we will create that next year. Right now, we just wanted to keep it simple to get the launch done :-) This was an Evolution version that we never did, but people always asked about it. Next year, it will be there. Probably end of January. With the 5ml cup and the 0.45mm.
Today came the brush, and I have to try it out and like Warrick Said, the trigger control is far away from the old evolution. this was the reason that i changed to Iwata. the color flows through the brush, the quality is outstanding. I would highly recommend the Evolution 2024
I have 10 airbrushs, and I use them all sall are great, the Creos 771 is great, the Evo is more work to clean. But if you must chose, take the Evo 2024 and the 771. I am waiting for the Infinity 2024. Enjoy the hobby.
I do like the H & S except the point where the paint comes out it isn’t consistent. For an airbrush that is supposed to be well engineered can they not figure that out? I love the fit and finish of the evolution and infinity but I can’t trust it when I do fine detail. I think my next airbrush will be a micron but I’m hoping H & S can fix the problem.
Very happy to have someone ask this question. To be fully transparent, we do agree about that ever so slight inconsistency at the very front of the trigger. In these new versions of the ULTRA 2024 and the EVOLUTION 2024, the FIRST point on the development list was that issue. The creation of a trigger system which absolutely ZERO slack at any point in the stroke, a totally direct feel at the very front of the stroke AND no stiction at the very first break of the needle from the inside of the nozzle. I think you'll find the answer you're looking for in their reviews :-) We did send one to DRED, but both of the other guys just purchased the airbrush themselves, so they are completely impartial. Hope you stick with us - we've worked really hard on this, and we're VERY confident that our solution is totally comprehensive.
Trigger response, better. User-friendliness, better. Ultimate detailing and slowness of spray to support that, the old Infinity still has the edge. But if you fit that 0.15mm head to the new EVOLUTION 2024... hmmmm... sometimes it takes a deep breath to always answer every question totally honestly, but that's what we've committed to do in all of our marketing. So there's our honest answer! The old Infinity is also lighter to hold, which also is a consideration to some.

Ok here's our advice :-) if you can afford both, take both, you will use both - they have completely different characters and will give you MVP in different areas of your painting needs. If you can't take both, just stay in your budget - either will be a great experience :-)
Given that the Ultra 2024 is out of stock everywhere, and no idea when it might be in stock, would the evolution 2024 be too much of a step for beginning? I have been using an old Paasche single action F brush for a while but want to step up to a dual action . Mainly for priming and base coating warhammer miniatures but then maybe starting to move into more detailed work as I get more used to a dual action. Trying to decide if I should wait for the Ultra to be in stock again or just get the Evolution.
Ah Pete - the nostalgia! I remember the Paasche F! Always felt that the nozzle size on that was a little bit too small to be great at what it did, but the H, as a tool for creating texture - wow! It's no surprise that the Paasche H is still the tool of choice for texture creation in Special FX for makeup and costumery in film and TV. Anyway, I digress! I think that taking the Evolution is not necessarily a problem as long as you have make sure to pay attention to your trigger action - down, back, forward, then up. Make this muscle memory in front of the TV whilst you're watching your favourite show. In the dragon video, I do make some references to equivalent settings on the Evolution as comparable to the Color Control Collar on the ULTRA. Take a look at that and see what you think. Aside from that, we are working very hard to bring the ULTRA back into stock!
I just ordered this 2024 Evolution after seeing this video. I've been using the Infinity CR Plus and Evolution AL Plus to paint my miniatures. Hopefully, I'll be able to get it in the US by the end of February. Any idea when they'll be shipping from Germany to the US?
Okay, I’m in the marked for a new airbrush. The new evo looks so so so amaizing good. But I’m curious, what will have the new infinity over the new evo. I hope @h&s you can’t point me out here a little bit
We will be making some content on this point soon, as it is a really important question. The new Evolution is seriously good, and VERY versatile. Those who have used it have been quite surprised by what's now possible with this format. So what's on offer from the Infinity - well really, it's about the connection. The ability to work the finest of details with the greatest possible feeling of intuition and connectivity with the paint appearing on the subject. It's a subtle different compared to focussing on the feeling with the airbrush. For an ULTRA user, it's important to foster a feeling of connection with the airbrush - this facilitates learning and muscle memory - DRED FX made a few videos where he talks about the "feedback" that he gets from the ULTRA - this is highly intentional on our side - to connect the user with the airbrush, so that they can really feel the tool and learn the muscle memory. The Evolution is all about starting to focus more on process, speed, the beginnings of intuition in how you paint - a lack of thought. So the spring rates are lower, the responses are more instant and the range of spray available is wider. And finally to the Infinity - the goal is to make the airbrush disappear from your thinking. That you are only connected with the paint. So the front of the trigger must be so sensitive as to almost be a thought to start the paint. The less joints need to move, the great the precision - it's just a flex of the pad of your finger to start a whisper thin stream of colour appearing on the subject. That's the feeling that we're going for with the Infinity, and we think we've done it. But you have to be ready for it, and for those painters that we have been trialing with, the feeling is absolute intuition directly with the paint. And everything about the other two is all about getting your ready for that. The cams of the Excenters progressively take you in this direction... Can the Infinity be your first airbrush? Yes, of course... but I truly believe that the other two will prepare you to get the best from it. But please, don't take that as a sales pitch to buy all of them. It's just my thought process on how to bring the three concepts together into a properly defined set of design goals which we can then distill into engineering goals to realise these feelings. I can't yet tell you about the specific features of the Infinity which bring this about, but I believe that it will bring the level joy in your painting to new heights. However, I do feel the same about the new ULTRA and the new Evolution, in their own ways. I think the Evolution, at the price point, is very special indeed. Hope that helps to explain our process!

I still have an evo (black limited I tought but the first release after the focus) and last year bought the kyiv, (mainly to support the project). I was thinking last 2 months of the giraldez version. But didn’t decide yet, because I like aluminium body of the kyiv. (I dit do the trigger fix to get more precise spraying, but it’s not there yet with that) I asked, because I linked the black gold design of squidmar. But that one is limited as wel. (So can’t wait to long to deside)

I'm looking at possibly getting the new ultra soon, but the part about not backflowing to mix the paint kind of puts me off. Is it not possible to backflow on the ultra at all?
Not a problem at all. Personally, I regard it as an intermediate technique, which is why I don't talk about it in the ULTRA painting process, but we do with the EVOLUTION. But yes, absolutely possible.
Have a look at the video just released by squidmar. It's a beginners airbrushing guide and he backflows the ultra by basically "chocking" it. Seems to work (though I could never really get it done on my old ultra)
I own an infinity & now the new evo. My plan was to have 1 for large areas n 1 for detail. I like the trigger response on the new evo, would it be worth putting my 0.15ml needle & nozzle in the evo for even finer detailing or is there something special about the 0.28ml? I mean the answer seems obvious to me but you're the expert so was just looking for some advice.
Hey buddy... the new 0.28mm is pretty awesome... Try it and see, but I think you'll find that the 0.28mm is pretty hard to beat! It's new gen... Nozzle size controls speed of application, but detail capability is much more of an aerodynamic design issue than just the size of the hole in the nozzle. And the 0.28mm is our latest gen on this. Lots of time, lots of research, lots of testing :-)
Appreciate the reply, so the .28 will give equal, if not better fine work than the .15? I mean it's the only nozzle I've used so far in it, but as I say, I have a .15 literally gathering dust so just figured it'd make a difference . I guess I'll have to do some testing for myself n see what suits, but so far am happy with the .28, just sounds large despite obviously being designed for detail and small bits
Meine neue Evolution ist heute eingetroffen und ich bin schwer begeistert. Optik, Haptik, Qualität und die Neuerungen sind umwerfend! Hut ab und Respekt !!! Wird es ein neues FPC Luftventil geben, denn das bisherige funktioniert an meiner neuen EVO nicht !
I am a happy InfinityCRPlus owner for years now, so I am not that much interested in getting an evo - even with all it's new features. What I really want is an "Infinity CRPlus 2024". The Infinity line of models combined with the new cool 2024 features. As you said in your video, the evo is for the intermediate user - what about the pro's? Will we see something like the evo2024 for the advanced user too?

Lovely new airbrush, but i had to stop with the squidmar ultra variant, since i'm a beginner in terms of airbrushing. Do you know when will the AB arrive? It was stated in november, yet i'm still waiting... the hype buildup is too high!
