Tao didn't really want to leave the group, his father had to remove him because Tao suffered very serious injuries that could have permanent consequences. SM wouldn't let him rest and continuously required him to perform pirouettes in EXO's performances. It got to the point that the fans had to watch him come and go in a wheelchair. Tao's father was a powerful businessman in China and was able to contact a specialist in the United States who could treat Tao's injuries. He took him on his own and sued SM for his bad treatment and threatening his son's health. Unfortunately, the clauses of SM's contract are very strong and Tao has to keep paying a percentage of all his artist income to SM until the contract expires. Now Tao has founded his own company, and he's doing very well in China.

All three of them did leave due to some form of mistreatment. Kris was the first one to leave and he again left for more musical freedom and opportunities since they weren’t being given to the Chinese members in comparison to the other members of EXO. There was also a time when exo-m’s managers were really sketchy with with how they were treating the members. Both Luhan and Tao left for mainly health reasons as they were never really given a break by the company in order to take time to recover, but they did face the same things Kris left for. There’s actually a video of Luhan’s last time performing with EXO at their concert and he’s pretty visibly weak at some points throughout the whole thing. If I’m remembering correctly Tao did take some time off to heal (I think in the US actually) when his leg was seriously injured and during this time his father was trying to convince him to break his contract for his health.

im so happy that they are more success in china when they leave exo. they leave for their good and glad that they choose a right way instead. fyi, they create their own masterpiece career and manage to broke multiple record in china from music to acting. this is a solid prove that all of the member ( from exo before&after ) is so extremely talented. ps : for this im more in love with your channel sir

Sir austin, I hope you react to “coffee” by luhan (ft.kris) and “sensitive” by luhan (ft.tao) these all happened in 2020. The 3 of them just reunited in one of china’s show and it was heart warming and nostalgic. I think luhan has the cooler relationship with the members than tao and kris since luhan and some EXO members still follows one another on their social media accounts and Luhan and lay caught starring each other in an award show or something and mean while they secretly go out together. Luhan is one of the most loved by all the EXO members because of aside from being matured, he is also very adorable.

Thank you for this Sir Austin 😭 It's really hard when you stan EXO during their peakest years which is 2013. Then the next year, slowly the 3 Chinese members are leaving :< it's really so hard and Luhan is my first ever bias in EXO and it really hurts when the 3 of them leave because they are a part of EXO and already had this brotherhood that has built during their trainee days. But I'm still happy that they are doing well as a soloist in China and we're still supporting and loving them ❤️

Still follows him and even liked his enlistment pic. "Bowl thick noodles" is my fav kris song. I remember when I first heard it and kept playing it on repeat for days. "July" "november rain" are also very good. I love tao. He is so straightforward and savage. If he was still in exo then I cannot even imagine the savageness the maknae line would have pulled out. SM's mistreatment of its Chinese artists was unimaginable. As a trainee, the company opens you a debt that you must pay once you debut. It is difficult for Koreans to pay it in full with the small percentage they get from profits, it takes years for them to see some money because everything goes into debt. Now, SM paid their Chinese artists a percentage that can be considered A JOKE. Imagine how long it would take to pay off SM debt. Add to that that SM didn't promote EXO M to the same level as EXO K. The Chinese members had almost no lines, the only one who could sing for a considerable time was LuHan because he was the MAIN VOCALIST. Kris, Tao and Lay had short lines (also Xiu). The case of Kris, specifically, was more about the freedom he had to participate in the group's music. Back then it was ... 0%. The company didn't let him contribute anything at all. Also, Kris discovered that by being in the group he would never have the freedom to do what he wanted to do with his career. I think we've all realized that he's not a Disney boy group type artist. Very few people know that LuHan went out for health reasons. At that time SM would not let them rest for a single minute, LuHan was exhausted and his physical condition was very bad. As the other guys have mentioned before, it was tough. And Tao, Most of the fandom know the reasons for his departure, it was for his health. It hurt us to see him every time he had an accident on stage, even at ISAAC when he had the accident in his spine and they had to call the paramedics because he couldn't move and was screaming in pain. Seeing that he had to get to the airports in a wheelchair and with a purple leg because he had to meet his schedule, are really painful memories.

Out of the three, I think the members have the best relationship with Luhan after they left the company. He and Xiumin used to be best friends in EXO-M. Even before Luhan left, there have been rumours of him leaving due to his health, so the fans, and I suppose the members, weren’t as shell-shocked. The “messiest” departure was from Kris, because allegedly, he left without telling anyone, not even his members knew. Plus, it was right before their concert, so everyone and everything was thrown into disarray from that.

WAHHHHH I REMEMBERED WHAT KRIS SAID IN ONE INTERVIEW 😭

So I’m just gonna say what I remember from the olden days lmao Kris’ role in exo was as a really cool guy and the leader of exo m, and he had a really cute relationship with Suho back in the day. Tao is an extremely talented martial artist (he did the flips in overdose and mama) but he’s also a huge coward and acts like a girl sometimes (idk if he identifies as genderfluid but he’s said that he feels like a girl sometimes so we love that). Luhan was the oldest along with Xiumin and he was a dancer and singer. Xiumin was Luhan’s emotional support kpop boy because he was always looking at him and holding onto him (I think it started as Luhan just not being fluent enough in Korean to understand the weird shit the others were saying and him taking cues from Xiumin to them being really close friends/being oldest together. I don’t really think Luhan was suited for the role as oldest cos he’s so Soft and I think it made him really anxious to have that kind of position of authority lol). He left because he was getting really fatigued to the point of having to go to the hospital, and you can kinda see on the stages closer to when he left that he looks skinny and sick and one of his eyes was all swollen from his migraines. He just needed rest and that snake sm wasn’t letting him have any so I’m glad he left but still miss him and Tao and Kris with exo lol But yeah my favorite thing about Luhan is that he has such a handsome face when he’s not talking but as soon as he thinks or emotes he just makes the funniest expressions and I find it really charming lmao. Like when he laughs his face looks all disjointed. Luhan was also really well known for being sort of androgynous with his makeup and clothing and he had some Absolute Looks for his solo concerts. He also writes his own music and produces his mvs and he’s been in tons of movies and dramas, although he’s not as talented at acting as Kyungsoo!

So Luhan was the main vocalist of exo-m along with Chen. But as you can see he do some rap in solo activities. He used to known as exo-m dancer too besides lay. He was the center and one of the visuals of group. He's solo activities are actually realy beautiful. They are more like soft and warmhearted but the video didn't show those ones. You can check Medals. This is my favorite and he sang it for one of his movies. He's one of the most famous artists in China and people know him as Xiao Lu which means little Lu. He's the sweet boy that you just fell in love with.

Tao is so funny and dramatic. He made exo showtime for me 😂
