Thanks Bill, and thanks Manuel for another good video. I too live in Colorado and am looking for a new bike. I realize that it does not have the suspension of a CFR/KLX which I have also been looking at. However I imagine it is much nicer on the road. In your opinion, would it be a decent bike to ride 60/40 dirt and do some of the Backcountry Discovery Routes on it? I'm 6ft and when I sat on it briefly it felt tiny, but I have not had a chance to ride one. I don't expect to be doing crazy single track routes, and will find myself mostly on two track mining trails and gravel roads. I first was considering the 390, then I started looking at the Tenere 700 but that bike just feels so tall and top heavy. Do you know whether there is a seat that increases the 390 seat height? And last question is how it rides when you are standing? Have you made any changes to its bar height? Thanks. I appreciate the insight and I am now reconsidering my choices. Cheers.

@@mart7404 Hi, what you describe as your intended use is exactly what I use it for. I'm 5ft 9 and standing on it in the rocky stuff feels good although, as with any bike, it took several miles of riding in these conditions to understand the bike but again I'm impressed with it. It does not feel top heavy to me. Riding position is more like a dirt bike than a street bike. Handlebars are lower and you ride high on this bike. That makes it feel smaller than it is. At your height of 6ft, I would say you would want to raise the bars a couple inches. There are many after market risers for this bike. The cables dont seem to have enough slack in them to raise the bars but others have done it - ask a dealer if it would need longer lines if you decide this bike is for you. KTM makes a seat that is taller for this bike as well. The bike is shorter and its quick steering means it's more reactive off road at slower speeds. I love this. It's easy to pick your line though tougher narrower sections of trails and it just feels good. It's light feeling and I think the suspension travel is plenty. I have yet to bottom it out. I dont jump the bike and I'm not in any race but I will ride fast at times for the conditions and understanding I'm on nearly 400lb bike. Unfortunately you can't test ride new KTM bikes. They won't start until they input the owner into the computer and download files to the bike. I had to trust the countless reviews I watched on this bike. I'm 185lbs and the power is good for riding on the highways over the mountains. You do need to downshift to pass on the steep sections but acceleration is good. There are many reasons I chose this bike... I'm a explorer of sorts. I love the old mining trails, the lonely little used trails that crisscross our mountains and throughout the desert southwest. I need a light bike I can pick up by myself and one that can live off the highways and get me where I want to go but still be reasonably comfortable on the highways. This does all that for me better than I expected. That's why I wrote it surprises me everytime I push it a little harder. I've not ridden the 790 but I sat on one. It didn't feel any different to me although it was slightly taller and I could have bought one if there were any for sale... and it might be better in every way, but Covid put a stop to these bikes reaching the US shores and my 390 was what I wanted based on what I just described and by some miracle it was the last one available anywhere in the western US at the time. How's that for a run on sentence? If you can actually find one to test ride, try it out and a 790 if possible. Hope you find your perfect bike. I found mine.

What do you think of the power? Does it not feel under powered to you?

@@jpwerth8610 I sold an FZ-07 for this bike, and yes the power is down compared to that. But the 390 ADV pulls away from any car light to light and will cruise comfortably enough at 75 mph. I don't need more than that.
