I am an engineer and I have also worked as an escalator operator. Nowadays escalators are one of the most Hi-tec as they are installed with a lot of sensors. The escalator will automatically stop if any kind of unusual thing is observed and requires a key to reset it. Every escalator has minimum 3 stop buttons that are accessible to civilians. You just need knowledge. But still precautions should be taken as it is a machine and failure can be there.
Just use staircase simple. Advantage 1)we will be healthy. 2)less rush as people would be using escalator. 3)no fear. But I know staircase is not everywhere.😢😢😢
Funnily enough, I never took the escalator not because of fear of getting shredded, but because I have trouble with movement without me moving my legs or doing anything, because I tend to lose balance.
I alredy had that fear... Because when i was 3 years old my foot got trap'd inside the escalator 😭 and i was so little that the escalator keep moving and i was going down 😭 and my family did'nt realice until i started screaming like hell, and they told my brother to help me and he couldn't get me out, and then my father help'd him and i manage to get out, but the escalator never stop't 😭 now i am much older and i have a mark in my foot, and i will never forget that day 😢 i got traumaticed 💀 so yeah 😭👍 oh i forgot, i don't speak english, i talk spanish, so im sorry if i wrote something wrong, bye 💀👍

That should be an automatic response for a mother, shouldn’t it?- for me, although not as severe, there was a baby at a tire park- her mother was on a bench on her phone a few feet away while the girl was on the a path they made out of tires they cut in half (so instead of laying flat they were right side up). Ig I just had a bad feeling so I went over to the girl and walked behind her, turns out one of the tires was instable and the girl nearly fell, there was wooden beams and such with really bent screws and such, and if she fell, it would have been quite the nasty spill- idk how I managed to react so quickly, but I kinda just immediately grabbed her and ended up taking the fall myself while keeping her from falling- the baby was safe and I fractured my ankle pretty badly lol- worth it though because the baby was indeed adorable-

I saw a school of younger children on a down escalator, some kids weren’t paying attention and I see them all piling up at the bottom on top of each other 💀
Me too whenever my parent go to escalator I would go to stair and walking and look at them with fear even with elevator I would go to stair too or just don't go there go back in car💀
l have actually had this accident when l was young like 3 or 4 years old my mom told me that l wanted to buy an icecream and they werent getting me cuz l was sick and we were in a mall on an escalator so l sat down on the escalator and l didnt noticed we had reached the other end and my back somewhow got stuck on the part where the escalator panels go under the floor ldk😂 anyways so somehow my parents managed to pull me out thankfully 😅

I used to fear the end of escalator as a child. Thinking it could suck me in. When I grew up, i thought how naive I was. This just threw cold water on me
Same I was scared alot, one time I went in a escalator with my mom and dad I was so scared that I almost did a split because I was so scared but hopefully the security man was here, he helped me go in the escalator, if the security man was not here then something bad would happen.

Same story, so me and my older brother went to a shopping centre my mom was busy shopping and my older brother too😅 everything was ok but then I got stuck in the escalator I was screaming so loud that half of the shopping centre heard me… my brother runned to me bc I was screaming so loud he got me and lifted me up from it……😢😢 but somehow he got stuck him self😢😢 my brother is a hero if u think too like

I was scared of escalator while travelled in London, because I grabbed my parent's hand. Poor woman who stucked in escalator. Fortunately, a man felt lucky.
