Thank you for this info. That bloody auto start button is the stupidest, most miserable feature of any modern car and accessing it through 400 screen touches becomes annoying. I really appreciated this video as I will no longer be driving my car into the local river.
I'e got mine set to Mute and Cancel Guidance. Using the Auto Start/Stop button is already in my muscle memory. 😉 Thanks for the spreadsheet Simon, V. Useful.
Source change! Yes! It’s a pain going between phone and radio on the centre screen while driving. Not sure why you’d use it for auto start/stop when there’s already a dedicated button
Hi Simon Could you show us how to get the start button out, I’d like to put an old school kill switch in the line somewhere but figured it would be better if you break your plastics instead of me!! You could even do the whole thing Neil
I switch my auto start/off to off when I need to do a hill start (Discovery 5) as the car has a tendency to roll back just a tad as the engine comes on when I take my foot of the brake pedal. I switch it back on again almost immediately. Another instance is when waiting to turn right and another would be at level crossings. Here in Japan we are required to always stop at all level crossings and look left/right before crossing. A daft rule if ever there was one as all level crossings have lights and barriers.
Simon…I missed this film when it came out …..a victim of the mad removals. However as I type it seems 10 days since the last video so I hope everything is alright. Are you back in France fighting that old Range Rover??? I’m sure the viewers are missing you but I hope you are well! Stay safe, Richard😳🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🙏🙏😀😀😀😀
@@simonjefferson Simon I’m pleased all is well. In sure you will be posting again soon but tonight I looked at used Defenders. I found a 124 mile x Dynamic HSE D300 with options but in black at £94950 quoting a list price of £84300!!! I configured a P400e version of the new green Special Edition 75 and that came out at £114,100!! So the Discovery Sport stays for a while yet!! 😨😳😀😀😀😀
can't you just buy the Gap ID system and permanently turn it off through the system? Also there's a video i havent tried yet that permanently turns it off... ie.. start truck... press it... turn truck off, open door close door... start truck.. it's supposed to be off
All I have to do is press the start/stop cancel button. In my use case I want to be able to toggle off start/stop semi permanently. But when I go to town I want be able to turn it start/stop on again.
Yet to receive the new update. Also with iOS 16 due apparently it makes use of the digital dash for Apple CarPlay, wonder if Defender has the capability.
I did watch the apple developer release a few weeks back with George ( my son ) and we got really excited about the apple dash but i think this will be a few years out.... but lets see
