@@NFS-shade it depends on the battery mode. I charged my active 2 yest morning 10am to full, and then kept active display on for like 6 hours, and while sleeping i turned it off. It still has 38% charge.

Looks nice, but the battery is half empty after one hour workout. Bluetooth hast many dropouts with my InEars. Support ist not helpful: It's a feature, not a bug....

Hi great reviews, although Wear OS is standard across all these watches. Wear OS is not kept up to date and has a lot of bugs with eg the Wear OS assistant and Samsung phone. Could you please do a review which phone works best with WearOS watches eg Pixel. Appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi! I’ve seen your reviews on the Skagen Smartwatches, and I’m very inclined to buy one of them. I do have a question though, about the watch’s full compatibility with my phone. I am an iPhone user (iPhone SE 2020), and I’d like to know if I could control and change my music played on a Bluetooth speaker, with the help of the watch (spotify). And overall, if my phone and the clock would be completely compatible on all of the functions. Thanks for your help!

Mike, great review. Using the Falster 3 now for about 4 - 5 days. So far so good! Battery life ok even in extended mode but all other features work really well. The one thing I cannot figure out. If you press the top button, a screen opens up giving you an option with multiple colors. When I tap on the color chosen example red it reads "you don't have any styles saved" Start customizing. Do you know what this feature is? Thank you again for your review. It made my decision to purchase the Falster 3 way easier.

If you tap and hold your watch face to change it, you can select the settings icon at the bottom and change the color and design of most watch faces. You can then select "save watch face" and it will save to the Skagen/Fossil watch app that you are referring to. It categorizes styles by background color It is supposed to be an easy way to switch between your favorite colors

I´m on a Huawei Watch 1st gen and looking for a new watch. But as long as basically every watch has this two and big bezels around the screen I won´t buy a new one. The Huawei Watch 1st gen has a bezel which protects the screen and is very small.

The battery power is just a diaster - buy a mobvoi ticwatch pro 2020 - or a fossil hybrid hr if you don't want to charge your watch every night - tested the all and settled with a hybrid.

Great looking watch. I just bought the Falster 2 a couple of months ago brand new for just £155. Wish it was bigger like the Falster 3 but I much prefer it's polished look as opposed to the plain aluminium.

Nice design watch simple design with nice UX. But i hate the watch lug design, it will easily broke if watch dropped from 30cm. Once broke, it's very hard to repair (you can't glue, nor solder the lug back to it's metal body).

i prefer to wear my watch on my right wrist, does the display rotate so the buttons is pointing towards my fingers when worn on my right wrist? Every video i've seen so far of smart watches have people wearing them on their left.

Thank you! That's a good question. Both watches have a similar aesthetic and similar fundamental functions but the 3 just does things better. Snapdragon 3100 vs 2100, 8GB storage vs 4GB, and other upgrades of the sort. If you're on a budget though, it's hard to argue when the 2 is half the price

I wonder too. Two weeks or so ago I brought the falster 2 but returned it about 5 hours later because it was so laggy and the battery got low so fast that it was unacceptable for me. But the falster is in my opinion the best looking smart watch these days. (I‘m now happy with my fitbit charge 3 now by the way. A week battery life just can’t be matched by any smart watch :D)

Beautiful chassis. But yeah - it's just a Gen 5 internal with a different body and Wear OS's battery life lets it down. It's still fine as a perfect driver as long as you do not care about tracking health or sports. I am very happy with my Active 2 after coming from a Gen 5 -tho the only thing I feel the Gen 5 does better is Google Voice and Google Pay. (Samsung Pay support sucks in my country).

Good news for skiing. Samsung Health has scores of workouts you can add including skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, orienteering, riding, rafting, you name it. Just add it to your workout list and your Galaxy Watch or Active Watch will record it. I've used it skiing, snowboarding and mountain climbing and it works great. Not sure about other watches though I'm sure they'll have something too.

I bought a cheapo last gen Wear watch and generally like it but it only has two buttons, which sucks. That rotating crown is a massive quality of life upgrade. I may have to consider one of these. If only the bank(s) in this region would get their asses in gear and allow Google Pay on a watch...

Only 60% of applications has their main ui set focus correctly to let the crown scroll. Even Google Assistant scrolls the menu instead of the answers which forces frustrating users to use the touch screen for scrolling

The battery life is far from impressive, but it's on par with most smartwatches, so I didn't list it as a major complaint. If you want a powerful watch in a relatively small form factor, you're just going to have to charge it every other day.

I got a Skagen a long with an Apple Series 5. I like the Skagen best. It’s great looking. I don’t like being an Apjple clone. However, it has it has great functionality. Skagen does too. Skagen is a distict watch. It looks good and it does everything I want it to do. On another note, I wondered if you were American or Canadian for some reason - something you said. American. We’re not far apart. I don’t understand America anymore. I think you’re a nice guy. You sure sound Canadian. And as I’ve said before, you’re very good looking but you’re bright as they come. I have trouble with some of the RU-vidrs as they simply aren’t. I know who I like listening to now and who are just blowhards. I sure avoid them.

Excellent review, nice looking watch, a brushed silver metal bracelet or milano style band would look great on it. I would love to see a day when Samsung allows its Tizen OS to be used on other watch brands. Wear OS is really terrible to use, it's so messed up, and Samsung Pay is actually far better than Google Pay. Galaxy Store watchfaces would look great on this too. Plus, I could use it with my smart things appliances at home!!

Brian M Imo, Tizen is frustrating compared to Wear in many ways. All Wear needs is improved battery life which is getting better. Heck, the life is comparable to the Apple which is rated # 1

@@randyb3576 ehh, Apple Watch battery life is absolutely the worst on the market. Which means Android Wear must be pretty bad. Wear is a bad OS, very inconsistent, you have to scroll sometimes, rotate sometimes, you never quite know which is which. There's a reason that Tizen OS is the second most popular watch OS after Apple. Despite all the Wear brands on the market, Samsung sells more watches than all Wear brands combined. Android Wear was pretty bad, and things haven't improved with Wear OS which is surprising to be honest. I don't think it's a priority for Google. Just FYI Apple quote 18 hours battery life on Apple Watch 5 with AOD switched off. 5 to 7 days on Galaxy Watch and 3 to 4 days on Watch Active 2. I don't where you got Apple being No. 1 for battery life. lol.

@@randyb3576 Wear OS is, like a lot of Google's consumer stuff, is bloated. Tizen worked well on lower specs, so on currents specs runs really well. Wear OS has only just become decent enough. And that's just performance. Tizen has a much better UI and the features it has, such as the dial, are almost universally used.

You don't need a watch in the shower. I want to clean my arm where the watch is. I don't want to get soap and shampoo on it. That being said I almost bought this but the Samsung Galaxy beat it. I was also considering AmazfitT-Rex and GTR even though those watches are limited in what they can do.

Hi Mike. Great review. Any chance you could advise me? I use an app called Wear Battery Full to notify me when my watch is disconnected from my phone. The latest Wear OS update has caused my MK GO watch to disconnect when not on my wrist for around 20 minutes. Always on display also turns off. Seems like a battery saving feature, but it is not desired behaviour, and it occurs under every battery mode. I'm trying to establish whether this watch exhibits the same behaviour before purchasing. The Google watch (Pixel Watch) is like the apocalypse. Some swear it is coming, everyone wonders if it is coming, but nobody knows for sure if/when it will be here. With the Fitbit acquisition, who knows. I recommend getting this for now if you want a smartwatch with Google assistant

Battery life is still too shite for me to move away from Garmin which has an always on transreflective display and enough smart functionality to me. Nice looking watch though.

Weird, my battery life sucked the first couple days, dead by 5-6pm. I run custom batter with only ok google off, display at 4. After 2 weeks, Im getting a full day, 7am, now 10pm and 13% left. no idea why its settled down.

Oh yeah - the back charger. The only benefit of the Fossil design is that since it is not wireless it charges super fast. BUT - the design is prone to failing I much prefer the Gen 3 charger style.
