I'm building one and is the reason i'm watching this. I have the Gibbz sidecharger upp and waiting on the Iconic Industries Ultalite lower for the Glock mags. I have the Hipertouch trigger. I don't have a barrel or bolt yet. I hope its a quality build I have a Holosun 504c red dot on top.
The arc stock has a buffer lock for easy take down. Just press down the button on the bottom of the stock with your thumb above the pistol grip ... then charge the gun. The buffer should separate from bolt and tilt rifle down to allow gravity to slide bolt home . Take down as normal
I have finished one today. The last round does hold the bolt open. Mine separates like an AR. I do have rear charging handle. I did think of a side charging handle. But went standard. Can't wait to try it out.
You may have figured it out by now but but there is a MUCH simpler way to take down the gun using the MVB ARC stock. Once you lock the buffer back with the button on the stock simply slide the bolt forward through the ejection port with our thumb, pull the pin and you're all good. Use the forward assist to move the bolt forward on regular upper receivers.
I’m looking into making a New Frontier Arms 40 S&W c-9 ar pistol. I’d like to use the SB Tactical CQB Brace on it. Also, use ETS Glock 22 thirty round magazines as well. I’ll by the side charging 4” upper and stripped c-9 lower. Then, install different brand grips & trigger.
Just for aesthic purposes, I'd like to see an AR type 9mm platform take curved magazines. Either Sig MPX, CZ Scorpion or HK MP5 mags, all of which look more appealing than straight stick magazines.
Maybe you could machine a 5/8 24 thread adapter so you would have a normal thread. Mine is probably the same way now I have to check it. if you do that a 9mm can could be used on multiple platforms such as .223 with adapter or 300 blackout. I have also heard of cans that are 9mm working on .22 not as well as 9mm but 1 stamp multi caliber.
John, better watch that left trigger finger with this thing and its short barrel and forearm. Ever wonder why the HK MP-5K forearm has a hook at the end? A few too many folks shot their fingers off. I noticed where your finger almost went when you brought it up.
John, I have that same side charge upper on a 300blk SBR, I would be very interested in a spring loaded handle replacement as well. My only other concern with the side charger is the cam pin and the way they cut it. I am showing some wear on mine.
My only problem with it is why and the he'll did they can't the mag back just a little towards the stock .it makes it look odd. Thompson made there smg with a mag that came straight down .hk made the mp5 mag can't forward .if the would have copied ether one of those builds when it came to the mag it would have been perfect .the crazy thing is there was no reason to do it that way any feeding problems could have been solved at the mag and the feed ramp.
they have come out with new gen 2 or 3 charging handle for those Gibbz & x-products side charges... my question is why use an 80% lower & then turn around and SBR the gun? just wondering? i thought the idea of an 80% lower was to keep it a ghost gun, no numbers, not registered? so SBR is just opposite of that? now its an NFA item. unless the 80% lower was all that was available at the time. its still its a cool build.
Steve Adkins It's not legally a gun until the lower is milled out. Therefore, he can build the whole thing, file the paperwork, and then mill out the lower after the Form 1 is approved. Alternatively, he could have built it as a pistol and then changed the stock after F1 approval. Or he could build the lower and wait for F1 approval before building the upper. It also avoids FFL fees and transfer taxes where applicable.
cymond thanks for the replay. but in this video the lower is milled out, he sticks a glock mag in the mag well & the stock clearly makes this an sbr with that short barrel? so are you saying he can somehow avoid the sbr tax stamp by milling out the 80% lower after form 1? cuz a short barrel upper doesn't require any paperwork or stamps until its placed on a specific lower like pistol or in his case an sbr. i knew everything you said already? my question was to the builder? did he change his mind? or was this the only lower available? because doing any tax stamp on an 80% lower is just opposite of what i thought 80% lowers were all about? unless it was only lower he could buy at the time of his build & planned to do an sbr regardless.
Steve Adkins I was just trying to give reasons to use an 80% lower other than going paperless. I was not suggesting that an 80% avoids SBR paperwork/tax. And yes, it certainly is fully milled out in this video, I'm assuming he already had received an approved Form 1. I was simply suggesting that an 80% would be a way to assemble all of the parts legally before the tax stamp arrives, and then mill it out after the stamp arrives. Plus, it might be cheaper because he has free access to tools, and doesn't have to pay the usual fees for a standard lower (when I lived in CA, every gun had $60+ in fees & sales tax, plus whatever the gun shop charged for special orders).
Let me put it this way: How do you think he should have built his SBR? Starting with a pistol, and having useless pistol parts left over? Starting with a rifle, and having a useless long barrel left over? Starting with a bare lower receiver, and waiting to buy the rest of the parts until after the paperwork? This way, he could buy/assemble everything, and then just mill out the lower after the paperwork was approved.
One stop waving the gun around especially at your employee. Its not a new toy. Two keep you fingers away from the end of the barrel. These are bad habits. Guns are to be handled with respect and in a professional way. They should always be considered LOADED Three maybe to much coffee? Ps YES I support the second amendment fully

I guarantee there are many people out there that agree this guy is foolish but they don't comment because they think people like you are hopeless.
