I didn't take your words for it; I bought one and tried it for myself. This is a great backyard gun. It's accurate, has enough power to get rid of some iguanas, beautiful wood stock, and such a joy to shoot. I didn't stick with the stock scope though, kinda blurry to me; so I got a Hawke scope in its place. Best part is: it likes the cheap pellets that I can get at Wally World, 500 for $6. I can shoot until my arms fall off from the 41lbs cocking effort. Love it.
Buddy I have put days if not weeks of thought into buying this exact rifle for backup to PCPs. Granted I love my PCPs for obvious reasons but still this platform and it’s multi shot capability is just awesome. Strong enough to do pest control and accurate enough to do pest control with confidence my friend. Really digging this rifle. Thank you for doing a proper review on this platform. Thank you so much.
Reminds me of my Hunter Extreme .177 although it is single shot. Made in England. Also my gen 1 maxxim . Nice looking gun and great review . I just love the look of wood and metal. They should offer more wood stocks .
@jimmy Burnett Sure ! But I'm satisfied with pellets performance that i use so far i guess for me why fix something that isn't broke ? My gun likes the super cheap Winchester ammo 9.6 grain round head , don't ask me why i have no clue? Most alloys are spendy .
Thank you for the great review . I did an impulse buy yesterday and picked up a Gen3i . Put 100 pellets through it this morning. It was a quick trip out to sight it in . I only used the tail gate of my truck and my arm for a rest and I’m amazed at how tight the groups are. Can cover 6 shots with a quarter. I can’t wait to put it on a bench rest to really dial it in . It’s an Amazing out of the box gun and accuracy is great . Thank you for covering it.
I bought my Bone Collector the end of May this year. I don't shoot a lot but I have the gun out most days rubbing Old English Wood oil into the stock with a nice old soft white sock. I took off the scope it came with and put a Hammers 3-9x40AO on it and am happy with it. Just wish I had more time to shoot.
I watched your review you did a year ago on the gamo swarm magnum and you gave the magnum and the bone collector 5 stars so I bought both of them and I’m not disappointed they are great break barrel rifles.
Super review. That gun is awesome. Even when I don’t care particularly for a gun, your reviews are entertaining. With the right blend of info, opinion and honesty. They are not overly intricate. Those tend to lose me. Keep them coming JC.
Just unboxed and put some cheap Crosmans through my new bone collector, your review was spot on, I just ordered the bsa outlook 3×9×40, I hope that was the right choice.
@@martinanderson4803 That was an excellent choice. Those scopes are durable, designed for the reverse recoil at a reasonable price. I really like this rifle! You just need a trigger screw kit to dial it in. That will be the best $10 you ever put into an air rifle! I appreciate you watching! Happy Shooting👍😉
Looking to buy my first air rifle in 50 years and have been on the fence for the past month or so. After watching your Bone Collector review I ordered one yesterday. Shot a Sheridan silver streak growing up and at first was leaning towards something similar. After seeing your Benjamin multi-pump review I remembered all too well pumps 8, 9 and 10, hahaha. I'm a fit 64, and while I like the idea of variable pressure for stray dogs and such, and open sights for running rabbits, squirrels and trick shots, I think all things considered, the Bone Collector seems to be the practical choice. Going to use it for plinking for fun with my son and have a new dog we rescued that wants to hunt. It's a little more than what I was originally planning on spending but would rather go ahead and pull the trigger now than wondering later. Same reason I'm not starting off with a pcp. I'll see how much I use the break barrel and go from there. I'm 30 minutes from a town, probably an hour from someplace that would charge tanks..... so convenience weighs heavily. Thanks for your reviews and keep up the good work.
You are so welcome! I really appreciate you tuning in and sharing your comments. The only thing I suggest is after you shoot the rifle and get use to it, purchase one of my trigger screw kits. It will be the best $10.00 you ever spend.👍😉
I always wanted the Gen 0ne ( I own the original swarm magnum and have owned the original Swarm Maxim ) Bone Collector; but now I’m leaning towards this one ... I just wish it came with open sights . Thank You for another very entertaining and thorough review on an awesome pneumatic weapon.
20+ foot pound Gamo break barrel sounds awesome. I haven’t seen these in the sites I buy from but this seems like a really good buy. 800 FPS is definitely going to help past 30 yards or so. This is easily a 50 yard gun. Thank you for the review. I own two Gamos and have the first Gen Swarm and thought that was a good gun. I want this now! Lol.
Great review. I had such trouble with the .22 cal Whisper Swarm. It is my opinion the magazine is flimsy. Had to replace the mag arm shortly after I got the gun. The pellets would not drop into the breach. This looks like a much more substantial gun and I like the horizontal placed mag.
It is great to see a company that is not outsourcing everything to China like some German airgun brand I ordered one of these and thank you for the review it was very informative
I purchased one about six weeks ago. It has earned its right to hang on the wall in the living room along with the German HW rifles. Unlike yours mine is extremely pellet picky and likes only the Red Fire and the 16 grain Air Arms 5.51 yellow tin. I did try lots of brands, weights and so on at least 20 of them. I shoot an airgun daily and have pellets everywhere. I put a Hawke 6 by 24 AMX scope on it due to tired eyes........Grin!! and have shot at least two tins of pellets through it each week, so well over 1000 shots so far. This is the Compact model AMX, long scopes on this rifle will interfere with the break action. It needs to be a short one. At 25 yards there is only one ragged hole. No group, just one ragged hole with a 10 shot group. At 35 yards it is one inch and under consistently, and this is how it earned a spot on my wall. This morning I shot some groups at 50 yards and they averaged 1.25 inches. This is no fluke as it is consistent. I will get better, next time I will not drink any coffee.....lol! There are now two Gamo rifles on my wall, the Bone Collector and the .22 Swarm Gamo Magnum. I have had Gamo rifles in the past that were deplorable, terrible, worthy of only the trash bin. However something has changed, perhaps and just guessing, BSA is now making the barrels?? In any event this one now hangs with the clan in the living room. Good Job Gamo , you hit a home run with this one. Cheers Kit
Kit...thank you for sharing those excellent details. This is my favorite Gamo as well and ironically it made my ring of fame in my office next to the HW's 97, 98, TX200, and a Feinwerkbau. 👍
Hi JC,Great review as always, really this new Gamo is five stars, this stock used on the BSA gives it extra charm.A full-featured break barrel, with an improved bipod and trigger, perfect.my friend all the best.Like 👍😜.
I have a Gen-3 Magnum I will be reviewing soon. They upgraded the magazine system as improved the inertia movement. Other than that, the same rifle. Happy Shooting!
Been wanting one since I heard it was coming out. Now I have zero doubts, your reviews have a way of doing that. I'd go looking right now, but just pulled the trigger on a second PCP. Never thought I'd go that route as I like springers and their simplicity in the field. The SWARM feature really shines too. Great job bro; keep the shiny side up!
Thanks for this nice review JC, I love Bone Collector rifle its a very nice piece, Nice work the right blend of info, opinion and honesty. Thumbs up!!!
@@AirgunDetectives I REALLY DO NOT LIKE SPRING PISTOL BREAK BARREL AIRGUNS! I only shoot the compressed air, no-recoil airguns which have much better accuracy.
Great looking rifle, I want to see Gamo craft a rifle similar to this in how its a break barrel repeater, but create one with a side cocking lever, make lever a detachable high quality, steel, or 7075 T6 aluminum for longevity. A side cocking rifle, will be good when shooting off the bench.
Love my Gamos too! Excellent video my friend! Just ordered this beauty from Midway USA, they were the only outfit who actually had it in stock besides Gamo.
Bought one and the suggested ammo, and from 100 ft, I put a pellet through 4 layers of 1/16 corrugated steel vis a vis the sidewalls of two tool sheds…
I shot 99% of my 300 plus rounds before I added the screw. However, everything on film, as far as shooting was with the trigger screw upgrade. Thanks for watching 😉
So I watched your video on how to install the trigger screw and as I said I repair watches for a living anyway thanks for all your videos and the tutorial on how to install it even though I'm happy with the pull I still may give it a try to experience the difference that and I want one of your bipods
Great review as always JC! Haven't had a chance to shoot mine much but thanks for reinforcing my purchase decision. SInce this rifle is so good, It would be awesome for you to compare it to a comparable German wood stocked break barrel? I truly think this rifle has the capability of being a 50 yard hunting rifle, what are your thoughts and 50 yard accuracy and power?
@@gmanneod8085 hey Buddy. I think 40-45 yards would be a safe beat for humane hunting or pest control. I think Gamo jumped into their BSA supply line for this stock. The best I have seen by Gamo yet. What a great rifle👍It sounds like your collection is building 🙂
@@AirgunDetectives JC, yes it is strategically so! BTW, did Gamo provide the BC Gen 2 rifle for review? I'd love to see a second BC review with some 40 yard targets comparing the bundle scope to your BSA outlook scope. How much more accurate would it shoot? Maybe the Hammers Magnum scope VS the BSA outlook. Gamo may like that review. I really love my Bone Collector. Awesome quality like you said. I hate scratching wood stocks while hunting (BC is my bench rifle, & backyard pester) so I will be looking for a synthetic multi shot break barrel to replace my tired 10 yo Benjamin Trail. I keep eyeing that Crosman Magfire Ultra but with Crosman moving it from the Benjamin line to the Crosman, no good reviews ;-), I have my doubts, but it still has a 5 y warranty? Ultimately, I wish Umarex would make a good powerful mag feed underlever, the Walther LGU in a multi mag. style. Or a Gamo CFR with a mag. and the Mach 1?
Loved this review! I'll say this. And I'm just speaking from personal opinion. As someone I'm well aware is in the minority on this, I have zero interest in the swarm mechanism. So Imho, if Gamo would just put a whisper fusion mach 1 in the G2 bone collector stock, that would be their best ever.
Great video sir, I was checking your video and I buy one, but can you leave the magazine with full of pellets on the rifle for nextime hunting/shooting?
I would equate that to any magazine in regard to spring tension. I would always remove several rounds from my duty magazines after every shift to spare some spring tension. I also put new springs in my duty mags occasionally. This is the same principle I wouldn't leave a full magazine stored for an extended period of time (weeks). However, I do leave about 1/2 the rounds in the mag when I store the rifle just in case I need the rifle for rapid pest control. I also have a few magazine spares as well. But if you are on a weekend hunting trip..load them up! Happy Shooting 👍
Few months later, i just love this bone collector. Cocking effort eases and it is a blast to shoot it now. I am looking for a scope. What would be your recommandations ? By the way i put on the screw you sell on your website....amazing results thanks
I went with a Hawke Vantage on my Bone Collector amzn.to/3KEBgbb I drilled a forward stop-pin hole in my RRR and used two-piece scope rings. I put the ring with the stop pin in front. You can't use the back hole because your mount will hang over and make contact with the rear portion of the RRR (Recoil Reducing Rail)
Just found your channel and I just started shooting airguns and I'm getting into rifles more and more, they are a lot of fun. I'm doing some comparisons on this to the new Swarm Viper Gen 3i, seems like the basic difference is the stock and magazine feed. Would you agree?
Actually, the Bone Collector Gen2 and 3 is more powerful. It has the larger Mach-1 Chamber. It is also a little more difficult to cock in comparison to the Viper. I appreciate you watching 👍🏻😉
.22 gen 2 10x.. .22 swarm maxim gen 1 And old bone collector .177 and Crossman F4 Nitro piston .177 All love the Crossman premier hollow points.. No need for ANYTHING else!! 68yds. .22 in my Magnum.. In one side of the head and out the other on an adult groundhog! Y'all want to buy expensive pellets, be my guest.. I pay 3 cents per shot! But a crappy thing about the mount that Gamo includes, they say it is a recoil dampner.. NO IT IS NOT!! I blew up 3 scopes within 1500 shots.. Bought the "Diana" mount that absorbs 95% of recoil.. I purposely bought the cheapest scope at walmart was 20 bucks.. 1000 shots later.. Still driving tacks at 35yds. Good investment! But, kudos to Gamo, I've shot probably 5000 pellets through my Swarm magnum gen.2 10x in .22 and still touching holes off the bench at 40 yds.
@@AirgunDetectives sure is.. Those hollow points hold together.. And people complain they are dirty.. I clean my barrels every 2-300 shots.. Run the bore brush with old No.9 And 3 patches, ready for another 2-300 Thanks for the reply!
@@garylamerex5518 what is ironic is I picked up 6 cans of the Crosman Premier HP, 14.3 gr. They are the cleanest and most shiney pellets I ever purchased from Crosman. They may have upped their game recently.
I just got a Bone Collector "Bull Whisper". It has a green synthetic stock with black inserts. The bluing on it is insanely good. It's not a 10X model. Does all this make mine a gen 1? Also came with a 4x scope. NOT a 3-9x. I think those 10X systems are a bad idea. Not really a fan of them.
Hey JC, Thanks for the great review on the Gamo Swarm Bone Collector Gen 2 in .22 5 stars. WOW!!! So, the big question for me is how would you rate this next to a Weirauch or Air Arms TX 200? The reason I ask is because I want to get an heirloom piece for my kids. I know these three airguns are not the same price point, platform, power output, or same wood stock, but at just around 20 fpe, the $300 multi shot Gamo Swarm Bone Collector Gen. 2 in .22 with a beech stock beats out the walnut stock, single shot, 15 to 17 fpe Weirauch 77 or Air Arms fixed barrel under lever in .177 or .22 at nearly or over $500 in terms of "Bang for the Buck" bargain. Am I missing something? Is there another criteria or factors I should consider? Which is a better deal in your opinion? Better quality, fit, finish, durability, collector desirability, resale value, etc? Thanks again. Stay Safe. Be Well. GOD BLESS.
Hey Ken, the Gamo is a 5 star rifle for the price and the performance in its category, but is nowhere near the level of a TX200. The TX200 is like a Rolls-Royce and the Gamo is like a Toyota. The TX and the HW are rifles that can be passed down as heirlooms. When you are ready, my friend Mike will set you up with on of those and provide a full-tune at no extra cost. Just email me when you are ready. Happy Shooting 😉👍🏻
@@kenfan5666Gamo is like a Seat. Air Arms like a Rolls-Royce and Weihrauch is like a Maybach. There is no comparsion with them. Even the cheapest Hw30/35/50 is still better than any gamo
@airgunhunter927 Thanks for your input. I'm still saving up for the two HWs; I think it will probably be the 95s. Do you have any recommendations or favourites?
Is the action of this rifle based on the BSA lightning, if so I was wondering if the trigger could be retro fitted to the BSA lightning as the BSA trigger is no where near as good as the game.
Not to question you but, how does it shoot so accurately with the bipod? I’ve never had luck with any medium powered springer/nitro piston gun with anything but an artillery hold even shooting from a bench. It kind of defies the common understanding. Does this bipod seem to work with all springers you’ve tried it on?
Awesome rifle yeah..gotta love that wood stock deffo..just a little disappointed in the actual power compared to the power they say it is but still not too bad.. I'm also left handed and I have 7 air rifles including a gamo maxxim 1.77 cal 1rst gen and its so comfortable for me..my next one will be the bone collector I'm thinking 👍.. my most powerful air rifle rn though is the 5.5 cal Artemis GR1600W and there ain't many break barrels out there that can compete with its power and acuracy but its a killer to cock lol.. and its longer than my service 7,62 FN was too but thats what makes it so acurate and hard hitting even at long range..this bone collector would compare more to my 5.5 cal Artemis sr1000s in power though which is still pretty good and I love this gamo bone collector so gotta convince my old gal first.. she's always saying I already have enough but u know how men are lmao 🤣.. I'd have em all if I could hehe.. thnx for great review 👍
We can never have enough. Just like the ladies with purses and shoes. But I think we get much more enjoyment out of these. This Gamo truly is my favorite! It is the perfect balance between FPE and cocking effort. The 10 round mag works really well. Totally worth the investment. The stock is the best I have seen on any Gamo rifle. Happy shooting 😉
I have a problem with my gamo whisper fusion Mach 1 , week ago purchased? Every time I shoot it takes fifteen to twenty rounds to get centered on bullseye from previous day, without touching the scope. The first 12-15 rounds are hitting 3”- low 2”- then 1” - back on dime groups in bullseye, the same results 4x 20-shots each ? All 25-yards back yard range shooting, is there expert explanation or a breaking in period needed here? The pellet ammo didn’t matter here crossman 14.3 domed does the same with all ammo ? Please, advise we have 2 other gamo rifles and they have been fantastic for years , that’s all I have for now, like your tech show, thx wildbill
I have had that similar experience. I can't remember does that model you are shooting have open sights? If it does take the scope off and do the same testing. I have seen temperatures have that effect on scopes. The expansion contraction issue. If you don’t have open sights try another scope. My guess it is your optics make sure the stock bolts are all tight as well as your scope mount.👍
@@AirgunDetectives I am upgrading my scope with parallax adjustment and ordered your bi-pod as well , the stock scope is not clear at all distances with power optic’s used mostly at 4xpower ! I believe and trust your judgement here- thx, for your support, kindness, honesty, helpful knowledge 🎯 that’s all for now, wildbill
I went back and forth between this video and the 1 you did of the whisper fusion mach 1, the whisper fusion shoots at a higher fps, is it possible that gamo " tuned" down the pressure in the new bone collector?? I know that there will be slight variations in rifles, but I've watched a lot of reviews on both, the whisper fusion is consistently shooting at a higher fps, the cocking effort is higher too I think, just a thought and observation
You have to find just the right pellet. We often say "The rifle will chose the pellet" I have had several identical rifles and they often like different pellets. Thank you for tuning in and Happy Shooting👍
What really made me shake my head when I laid my gun on bed to remove scope. The base scope piece that attaches to gun fell right off.The pin was lined up too. I never messed with that. When you start looking at the underneaths of the gun. CHEAP plastic safety lever
@@jcdupuy4809 I would stay with what you have. The new magazine holder is slightly a lower profile. The inertia system has slightly improved, but they use the same identical inertia magazines. Look for my review in a few weeks on the Gen-3 Swarm Magnum.
I hate this phone. Will try to complete message before sending. Bone Collector is my next Springer. But, curious. Am fairly new to airguns and have a Gamo Swarm Maxxim in .177 cal. Love this rifle. 7.9 grain Crossman Premier hollow points shoot tight groups at 25 yards. I have some Gamo "G Hammer" 14.52 gr pellets that shoot very respectably. Could you possibly do a review on this rifle with the budget pellets as well as some heavier loads, including the G-Hammer? I don't as yet own a chrony, and would love to have this fps and fpe data to compare. You could have some fun and do a limited accuracy comparison to boot. By the way, J.C., any update on when the Gene bipod will arrive? Rabbit season opens here on Nov. 10. .
i would like your advice/opinion on something,, i'm trying to decide on which rifle to add to my collection, i don't hunt flying sasquatches or saber toothed caterpillars,, so i don't need to have enough power to take down an elephant, i own 2 gamos, both 22 cal, the original magnum and the swarm maxxim, gen 1, i have the hatsan carnivore 30 cal, wood stock and the weihrauch hw50s,, in 22, now my question, i've been eye balling the diana 48 , in 22 of course , and now gamo just came out with the gen 2 bone collector swarm, which would you pick, if money was no worry, i'd buy both,, but i'm just getting 1,,, thank-you
Hey Buddy, many factors here. First the Gamo Bone Collector 2 is my favorite Gamo rifle. I like everything about it for a multi-shot. The Diana 48 is German made and has a fantastic fit and finish. It has similar power as the Gamo. The T06 trigger on the 48 is awesome and I would give the 48 the edge on accuracy. It's not necessary, but you have the option to add a Vortek kit to the 48 one day. t is really an awesome rifle. So you have to decide if you want another multi-shot or not. You don't own a Diana yet? I think you will be happy with either choice. Let me know how that works out.👍😉
Hi!, Maybe you could answer my question about 10x mag from Gamo. I'm wondering if we can take the mag a part and shoot single shot without the 10x? Or we are force to deal with it all the time? Hope my question's clear. English not my first language. Thanks!
You can remove the entire Magazine assembly and shoot it like a conventional Break-barrel. Just be careful not to damage the assembly when you remove it.
Good review as always. As you kbow in England we have a 12lbs limit on our air rifles anything ovwr 12 lbs need a firearm certificate to own... We also have a large percentage of shooters who think shooting off a bipod is a big no no on springers / gas ram rifles, many saying its less accurate that way whats your view on that ???... Knowing you sell /supply your own the concensus here is artillery hold over bipod on spring / gas ram ???... your view would be appreciated .. must say i like the bone gamo it looks the part and i love the stock deffo something i may look at... Ps any chance you could do a review on the Lee enfield Sentry "... !!!!.. check it out... 👍👍👍 much respect from across the pond. 🇬🇧
The stock reminds me of the BSA models. Gamo did a good job on this. It's a great combination. Thank you for watching and I appreciate your comments 👍😉
