Rep. Virginia Foxx (NC) was the one shouting shut up. The American people just want representatives to answer for their actions. They act like we can't get information, and we are completely oblivious to the facts. It's high time for the children to leave office, especially when all they can say is shut up when asked a tough question. I truly hope she gets voted out next round.

I learned at a very young age that telling someone to "shut up" much less yelling it was considered rude and crass and would reflect poorly on my character as a person, so for a sitting government representative to yell it at a journalist in full public and not be admonished by anyone made me feel sad and disgusted. That type of behaviour should be called out and the person shamed not only by comedians but the media in general. Allowing elected officials to speak like that toward members of the venerable institution of journalism without recourse oils the slippery slope for discourse to slide even further into the abyss of thoughtless comment, dubious rhetoric and crass rejoinder regardless of the subject.
