Inexpensive guitars are getting so much better and this one looks really nice. I’m not a fan of the 9.5 inch radius necks as I prefer a flatter neck like this one has. Having 12 guitars I’m really tempted for one more. Thanks so much for the demo
At $109, minor adjustments expected. Something we don't often mention about beginners is that they may have a teacher. If they have a teacher, the teacher should know enough to adjust the pickup height, which is probably a one minute process. Let's put some of these minor setup issues onto the teacher as a measure of how useful the teacher is and what a particular teacher offers. I'd give big kudos to a teacher who also teaches the student how the guitar functions.
I agree on everything you said on this guitar. I love the looks. Finally a black pickguard on a budget guitar. I absolutely hate white pickguards on natural or burst guitars. The black hardware also is nice. Locking tuners is a big plus for beginners, not that they are better but because it makes restringing a lot easier. It's a guitar that really doesn't need any mods. Thanks Joe for another great vid. I'm gonna check them out now
I love the music players get out of the strat (Hell I listened to a bunch of Stevie Ray last night). However, I just can't enjoy playing them for some reason. I think the nut is only about 1mm narrower, but it seems to matter. It's simply amazing how excellent these extremely inexpensive guitars are compared to what was available in years gone by. My first guitars were ordered from Sears and Montgomery Ward in the 60's, and they were never great, and forget about setup issues. My first REAL guitar (after Silvertones, Harmonies and Kays) was a Yamaha FG-180 which Greyhound lost for me in Cleveland, Ohio circa 1972.
I really like your videos. You should make a video about all your guitars set them up throughout the room and go through them one at a time maybe like one minute per guitar
I'm not super picky about headstock shape as long as they're not just weird or ugly but yeah, this Arzuza headstock looks pretty nice. Overall a very nice looking guitar that seems to be fairly well built and finished. Agree the fretboard looks like it has a flatter than usual radius than standard strats. That solves my usual complaint with the feel and playability of strats. But for many, the exaggerated radius of a strat neck is exactly what they like.
I love Paulownia as I remember the Stagg you demoed was Paulownia and with a thin body. I think the stigma of thin and light is just an old mind set. Y ideal is a Strat that is closer in thickness to an Ibanez S type. Is this one also a thinner body?
I actually prefer non-locking tuners…they are usually less weight, you have a lesser chance of breaking a string and with more wraps you can down tune or if you have to slacken the strings to work on the guitar, so you can possibly save the strings…but thats just me🫤
