Actually mind blowing how good this kit looks. Same thing I don't like the GP02 at all but I will definitely be getting this. This would be an MGEX line kit from Bandai and they would try to sell it to you over $200 lol. The bazooka ev3n does the spinning thing from the show like wtf bro. If Bandai ever had plans to make an MG of the GP02 there's literally no point now that this thing exists.
they might've done TOO good of a job here. i wouldn't be surprised to see bandai drop the hammer. i'm praying that doesn't happen, this is like a dream kit.
@@RaggenZyou’re actually wrong. Matter of fact the Chinese government has been shutting down a lot of these types of companies because of agreements with Japan.
Third parties have been killing it ever since the "Judge" by: infinite dimensions came out. It's starting to get to the point where you have to wonder. With bandai making less and less master grades, and not clearly showing an intent to continue the line ( with trying to make the full mechanics or RE100 more prevalent or only releasing one Ver.Ka a year ) are we now starting to see a new era in 1/ 100 scale mecha model kits? An era where bandai is no longer king? It makes you wonder.
Well bandai is no longer allowed to close down business in china see the news from last couple of years relations with china have fallen apart and with Japan taking Taiwan side. Also a lot of Chinese companies have been kicked out from the stock market, followed by an economic collapse in china in the last 9 months.
Bandai would create more MGs if they wanted to, the problem is with production due to them setting up a new factory and Japan's economy not being good ever since COVID hit and keep in mind that said economy has been in the decline since the 90's, this is not to mention that they were actually becoming economy wise better before COVID came along. This is why you see more FM and MGSD because Bandai needs to fill that MG gap somehow while going cheap when it comes to production.
tbh i never understood bandai's decision with MGSD. yeah they had amazing details and engineering but an SD will always be an SD. its a niche segment that a smaller percentage of people actually liked. sure i've asked for SDs with proper engineering like standard HGs (fewer stickers and minimal hollow parts) in the past but not PG level of details.
@@razrafzMGSD are actually cool , it made me like the SD line. Downside is, is that its just way too expensive on my country, it has the same price for an RG Sazabi.
Bro, this shit is on another level with the parts that move. I’ve never seen a fucking model kit in a master degrade version such as this, I mean, maybe the master grade sazabi ver ka but God this thing looks fucking amazing. I hope they do the gp04.
I know people really want a 2.0 of this from bandai and them not making it is their own fault. 3rd parties will come out and step up to make what the fans want if bandai wont. here's to hoping for the GP01 and GP03 also get some releases if this one is as good as it appears!
only issues i see with 3rd party kits is that you have to put in more effort to make it look good some parts won't fit fully etc i'm a straight builder and thats all i see for 3rd party kits ill stick with bandai because of that not to mention 3rd party kits are more expensive than official products where i live in north america
@@Viper-jr4spDepends on the third party. True, many of them needs more work than Bandai kits, especially the older ones. But the quality of most third party kits nowadays are close if not on par with Bandai, especially the original designed ones.
Finally some good competitor, as a MG UC fan I'm getting really tired of Bandi attitude towards their 1/100 line. Is either reuse some old mold and recolor, and it took 1 year for ONE MG kit retails.. Ridiculous! I hope this boost their motivation for more MG, but i doubt it with how crazy they on others lines especially on 30mm.
UPDATED!!! I just preorderd this. hurry Pre-orders are almost sold out, good luck I truly beleive that CHINA is steam heading the Mecha/robot figure and model kits market my strom and possibly by 2035 they will be the NEW "BANDAI" level quality in regards to awesome gimmicks and functionality in all their models pruduced so far - Im keeping an eye for this one. to me, its worth the money to spend on a model kit with endless opening panels and articulation which only Bandai has did for a handful of their models. we shall see how this all plays out in the end for absolute supremecy in the mecha market to and for the consumers. Cheers
Got mine and hot damn, at first I was sceptical since I never heard of this company but the quality of this kit is on par with a multimillion company. This is how they should take care of their customers, giving them kits that they wanted.
Let's not drive up the price by ordering above the MSRP (or MSRP x 2 in the US to account for shipping)! They have enough production capacity for everyone, eventually. Most people will just put it in the backlog anyway so why not wait until the initial shortage is over instead of bidding up the price
All of us enthusiasts joke about the ineptitude of the Bandai execs regarding their treatment of the Gunpla franchise... it's pretty darn obvious that because they have a stranglehold on the Gundam IP that the can be as lazy and profit maxing as they want. Low cost/high margin HGs are much more preferable to lower margin/high material and production cost MGs. I'm definitely tired of waiting for things this, a 1/60 Nu, etc.. if 3rd party quality can rival Bandai and fulfill enthusiast demand, I'm buying. There's no reason to gatekeep a full EW Heavyarms Custom behind two/three Pbandai releases that would cost a fan nearly triple a third party kit.
It is not mgex or metal structure kit from bandai. But how the Salomon model make it into metal structure level in model kit class, that what I currious about.
These third party kits are EXACTLY what we need since Bandai refuses to take their 1/100 line seriously. Supreme Evolution just released a 1/100 Stargazer. Eagle Model released the 1/100 Impulse based on that awesome resin conversion kit. Daban just released an updated version of the metal build Destiny 1/100. (Yes I'm a Seed fanboy.) I really hope Bandai releases more stuff like the MGEX, as I will gladly pay for such beautiful products. But I'll continue supporting third parties who give us fans what Bandai won't.
Bandai couldn't do this even with their MG EX line. Look at the Unicorn and Strike Freedom. Underwhelming and overpriced by all means and gimmicks and features.
This is the first time for me to even think about the third party rip off might be looking good. Bandai just hasn't been able to recreate the menacing physique of Physalis.
Bandai is no longer allowed to do raids in China like it did with other 3rd party companies The political relations between china and Japan pretty much feel apart a few years ago. Why do you think Daban has been making kits like crazy for the last few years same with hobbystar coming back.
Bro idk how your so surprised or amazed. 3rd party and resin manufacturers have been coming out with more stuff fans actually want at a good quality level for years. Bandai doesn't seem to care about gundam at this point
It's to bad that the kit doesn't come with an accurate head sculpt. But I get that they are avoiding Copyright. I wonder how hard it would be to adapt it from the original MG.
i'm a bit confused, the kit won't come with the GP02's head but the parts for it would be included inside the box right? (not like the recent 3rd party Stargazer one?)
The kit will comes with GP02 head in final release, they wont use the actual head on demo to avoid copyright lawsuit, thats the tricks used by most 3rd party.
This will be my first third party kit. It's too good to pass up. Does anyone know where in the U.S. to pre-order? If not any other international spots that people like that ship to the U.S.?
USA Gundam Store and Gundam Place Store are both pretty good with carrying the last few high-profile 3rd Party Kits. I’d say keep an eye on their websites and socials
@@Quote_ationnot to discount what you’re saying but I wouldn’t be surprised if many US retailers (on good terms with Bandai) won’t sell this thing, much like Daban stuff.
not just 3rd party. the whole kit is made from scratch, with only the surface design being plagiarized. mwanwhile bandai keeps making low tier kits nobody asked
No not really. I've built the old Bandai MG and off the bat I could tell they swiped the same design for the leg thrusters on the back of the inner frame's calves. Even the moving pistons on the ankle are identical. I agree with you though, Bandai's release choices have been abysmal (especially now with all the Seed releases that I could NOT care less about 😂)
@@AsimPaints i mean weak buying power of the yen making cheaper 1/144 kits more popular and alot of people in japan living in smaller spaces with less space for bigger kits means its not really on them
@@user-sp9po5qi9q meanwhile bandai prints whole runners just for a couple piece of parts instead of making new runners when they reuse kits. u gotta commend 3p at least for making an entirely new kit from copied designs
Does the kit have Vfin and they removed it while recording the teaser or promotional video? 😂man. Goodluck to bandai. Their poor decision making had led to this. They always think that since the volume of japanese buyer is enough for them to continue the business, it really won't hurt them. Now since there is a lot of buyer left on the global scale, this kinds of Company stepped up and filled the demands. Just look at the MG IBO inner frame. They can milk a lot of IBO Gundam there but just stopped. 😂
I am a gp02 fan from China.I order one because I really love gp02.I am shoked by the video too. I only hope bandai kill it later,so I buy more at a good price.
I just want sprue pictures or an unboxing, would answer everything. Would also like to know if we're getting decals or if we'll need to get them somewhere else too. I bet Delpi will make them if Solomon don't include them.@@RaggenZ
@dejarie47 for all the 3rd party kits 90% we getting water decals, you can wait the reviews but.. HOLY even pre orders were max out in Asia I can't imagine places like US and Australia.
@@RaggenZ So far haven't seen a single place in Aus selling, one had them for like 10 minutes and deleted the page. It's the kind of thing where I worry that waiting for full details means missing what might be a very limited amount of stock.
It just goes to show that when a third party company makes their own design/mold, they're able to kill it. I hope the other bootleg companies do the same instead of remaking Bandai kits but with worse quality control
I think it's about time for Bandai to make RG RX-78GP02A Gundam "Physalis" and a new War in the Pocket MG line up that includes MG RX-78GP02A Gundam "Physalis".
Well bandai will never give us a revive version of him so I just want the to give they the green light to go on with some release that they know they never gonna do in the first place
Bandai needs to wake up, They need fresh talent and ideas! Sad when majority of the knock offs are better then the original company. They are growing complaisant on old kits that need revised. More PG's More detailed kits are needed.
I thought the Re/100 or FM lines would do the trick: giving us super detailed surfaces with basic or no inner frames to save on costs. Yet not only are these just as expensive as MGs, they're just as rarely made... Seriously, Bandai is really pissing people like me off, people who would gladly throw money at Bandai for awesome kits, yet because of their incompetence they are driving us into the hands of these third parties. As a Seed fanboy, I'm ordering Daban's Destiny, Supreme Evolution's Stargazer, and Eagle Model's Impulse. I swear to god if they don't make a bunch of 1/100 new Seed Freedom kits I'm going to be pissed.
Dude, Bandai is barely releasing new MGs, so what are the chances they make a GP02 2.0? Third-party companies taking advantage of Bandai’s failures is a good thing, because it not only gives the consumers what they want, but it also gives Bandai a reason to step up their game and try.
