Hahaha it was a glorious finish let me tell ya. I sucked up all the cool views and ended up between that and owls head. I actually didn’t mind owls head. Shoulda finished there instead!
I feel like a couple of them I gotta do updated videos for. Like the Bonds, and Garfield as I did them on the Pemi Loop. Feel like it would be better to make a day hike or overnight video for most people but either way they are all out there!
That's a goal right there congrats my friend I know my goal is to do atleast 5 before the summer ends but like I've said before keep killing them trails and be safe.
Thank you very much my friend that goal will be complete and I'm up there alot of the time I love it so much and your welcome for the support love the videos excited for more and many more ideas i can do thanks man be safe.
Congrats Chris! Hitting Bonds and Galehead this week myself, and then finishing up Owl's Head after the Long Trail in August. Look forward to your ADK's!
Love your videos and congrats. I just hiked Mt. Jefferson and Mt. Washington yesterday, numbers 8 & 9 for me. I also am from the south shore and your videos are a huge help for me. I do a lot of my trail planning based on them. Keep them coming and keep on hiking. Thanks a lot.
Thanks Jim! I enjoyed Jefferson! I’m very meh about Washington tho. Unless you can get up there before like 8am. Man that place is a zoo haha. Keep crushing the mountains!
Congrats bro! Love seeing your vids, usually check them out while prepping or researching a new hike in the Whites. Just finished off Jefferson this morning to get to #28 of the 4000 footers. Must be a great feeling to be done!
Love it! Ya it feels great. Excited to start hitting the 52 more often. I really like those mountains. Usually quicker relatively, and much less crowded normally. Will be fun!
Congratulations!!!! This is my 2nd yr hiking . Started last April.. did a few littles..then Monadnock...then hit the whites. I got 18 4ks so far...and 9 WAV..did 6 in the winter. This year...I can’t seem to find the time... and everyone’s busy and I’ve done 2 solos up in the whites...but not a fan of that...so I’ll continue to live thru you😊
Not a bad turn around! Winter hiking is always an adventure. Should try some more solo again. It can be quiet therapeutic in my own experience! Appreciate ya watching Patty
You finished on a steaming hot day on Hale! You are probably in a class by yourself! That's so cool; I don't think anyone has finished on Hale. The Firewarden's Trail, which is off of the North Twin Trail, is an old abandoned fire road that takes you up to Hale. It has a view at one point and people like it for winter. Parking is contentious, there is one area that the guy will call and have you towed if you are on his property. I haven't tried it, but it's supposed to be nice.
I’ve heard about the firewardens trail. Will have to look more into it come winter! I actually went up there two weeks ago to hale. Just got around to editing the video haha. Was still pretty hot up there. The summit was baking in the sun. Can’t even imagine what it was like today!
Congrats! Nothing like finishing the AT ;), I remember when I Finished my ADK46 it's still a fun feeling. I love your channel keep up the good work my friend!
Thanks Steven! Ya it was a little anti climactic but even on the AT the end kind of was too. You get to the top of katahdin and there is an indescribable feeling of accomplishment but at the same time you realize there will be no major party waiting and that the journey was really the adventure. The memories and views and struggles were what it was all about. I felt very similar about my 48. You could ask me about ANY of them and I can tell you exactly how I was feeling, how the weather was etc. it’s all about the journey and the memories. Actually finishing and being able to say you did is icing on the cake!
So true, same here I remember all my high peaks in details, I mean ALL of them not only the ADK. Speaking of Katahdin I’m on my second attempt of the knife edge this September, hopefully this time around the weather will be on our side :).
Congratulations, Chris. I'm way behind you on that list, but hoping to join the 4000 footer club one day too. If the Whites were as close to Boston as the Blue Hills, I'd probably be getting through them a bit faster.
Ya the ride can be tough. I actually enjoy the drive up. I usually leave really early Saturday am. Helps soooo much to not have to sit around in traffic!
Hey Chris, Really enjoy following you bout to finish up my 48 in July. Congratulations, maybe we will run into each other out there one of these days. You still planning for the PCT next year?
Thanks Michael! I run into people out there pretty often. People I’ve even seen on other mountains. It’s a surprisingly small community out there haha. I am still planning to do the PCT. will see what happens when the time comes. Best of luck with the rest of the 48!
Congrats man! I've been watching your videos. Nice work. I used to live in Mass. I miss those New England mountains. I live in Kansas now. Not a hikers paradise for sure.
Thanks David! Ya I don’t know too much about Kansas hiking at all but these white mountains are really something special! Glad to have been able to and continue to experience them!
congrats, your 47 ahead of me :P i did mt Washington in boy scouts when i was like 17 :O im 9 days from my first 4k(of which you were .3 from the top of) in to many years heading out in a few min to hike the biggest mtn in our area with just over 1k of climbing but its quite the steep little hill and can see kahtadin from the summit most days.
That one still counts! Washington can be a pretty crazy hike depending on the time of year and trail taken up. Enjoy the outting! Its been my experience that the smaller mountains a lot of times have just as good if not better views than their larger counter parts. Its all part of the adventure. Wave to Katahdin for me haha
Bought some maps for that area about a week ago. Considering taking a week off and just floating around out that area for the week. Will see what happens!
Keep on hiking! Hit a bunch of the 52. Hopefully head out to the Adirondacks this summer. Looking forward to winter camping this year and hopefully if all lines up a run at the PCT next year!
Thanks thought by now she might have them all. On a separate note I know you use the capture clip. I also have it having trouble finding accessories for it Where did you find things you use
I certainly will! I’ve already done a few more on that list as well. I’m probably going to try to knock out the 52 in nh this summer / fall tho. We shall see!
