Breacher can't actually do what he did in this bat rep. It is what he is supposed to do however the rules for walls supercedes his ability. Glass half dead has raised this in his podcast. It's madness. Not sure if this is an error or actually done on purpose. It also means the Kommando breacher can't do his thing either in this set. Edit: apologies Phil this has been pointed out before and you have also responded that the Warhammer+ bat rep features the breacher doing this. Looks like it's gonna need to be clarified. It did seem weird to include a specific character that can do this but then have the wall rules negate it.
Oof! The Breachers are brutal! Their combo abilities are just NASTY! I love it! The Kroot were caught flat footed! I believed I could run circles and catch Phil off guard, but he came through the walls an so much for that, lol!
This is very familiar to the board game of Space Crusade with the gene stealers from when I was a kid, more detailed models and painting the board game wasn't really thought of I guess as I was new but looking back on that, it would've been a nice addition.
They forgot about the Kroot Rogue ability that double cover abilities. Also Kroot never used a tact ploy or strat ploy. Prey could have made all their shoots balanced. Way better then the 6 rerolls he spent the CP on.
Having played kroot a lot recently I can say they are pretty screwed if you forget about rogue, their whole gameplan is staying in cover as much as you can
Did you have a problem with the terrain going together after painting like others have posted ? Ive got 4 sets of terrain on the way and am dreading have to sand the conections .
We did ... Neil was kind enough to paint it up for me so we could get it ready for the batrep and he mentioned how the tolerances are tight and needed scraping to get to work.
Nice battle report. I think the heavy weapon you wanted was the other one. Tri being the clue as it had three curved what evers. I think the heavy you made was the de-skinner. No Kroot wants skin on their meat after all. Did you have to give up a specialist navy breacher option to get two gunners? I haven't gotten my pre-order set so I don't know the specifics. I'm pretty sure there is a combo if you have two of the basic navy troops as they have GA2. Looking forward to ItD. I have my first Kill Team ( Blood Angel Intercessors) painted up and ready to go.
I did ... The second Gunner was made with a Naval Armsman body ... I saw the same thing, but I thought a second Gunner would be better for my gameplay.
All sorts of wanting the Naval team, but having bought the Daemon Codex, Tzeentch Wartome being round the corner, followed by Gargants, me still missing loyalist Knight book (might even skip it this time) and sorts... There's a lot to be had and very little that helps having...
Cool battle report. Nice to see a preview of what's to come. Curious though at the 26 minute mark when the Kroot Heavy Gunner activates he heals D3 with the "eat meat" equipment. A 5 was rolled yet should only heal 3 wounds putting the gunner to 4 wounds instead of 5 wounds. Am I missing something?
Wow what a fast battle report! Nice game, but in 22:28, Im not sure you can pass through the wall cause rules says you cannot pass through regardless any other rule than Accesible trait. So maybe they dont want wyrmblade, ork breacha or even navys do that in this new into the dark edition but still you can do it in normal open games. What do you think? Anyway game seems pretty fun! Cheers
The rule for the Hatch cutter says to treat it as though it is an open hatch so you're traversing an open hatch instead of moving through walls ... If it weren't the case it would be weird to negate that operative's special ability in the only game type it is usable in really
@@TheGlacialGeek from the video of Glass Half Dead where he reads the book for an hour, he says it doesn't work on ItD. We can see the Hatch cutter rules and there is no mention of " traversing an open hatch" or "Accessible" trait in the "Breach Point" ability, so it can't be used with the walls of ItD. It means to be used with the terrains of the previous boxes.
A few observations, I hope you don't mind: The C.A.T. and Gheistskull can't move and dash, it's only APL 1 (unless ordered about ofc). The Londaxi tribalest is indeed the other gun. Arbalest basically means crossbow and so tribalest means tri-crossbow. Sadly Breachpoint doesn't work on Gallowdark walls, per the "walls" rule. It specifically mentions not being able to be ignored by any rule. Also did you forget about the free defence/attack order?
I've also just pointed out the breacher thing. It's madness isn't it, why include a breach specific character if they can't do what they are supposed to do.
