New Invatech 870 Mosquito Mist Blower vs Original Model 868

Not sure how recently it happened but Invatech introduced a new Mosquito Mist Blower to their lineup named the Model 870. In talking to a factory rep he implied the 870 is basically a new an improved version of their very popular model 868. The good news for owners who may have recently purchased a 868 is the two units are identical from an engine, power and performance standpoint. They share the same engine, the same dimensions, the same weight, operating specs etc. That said, the are three "main" differences - 1) Nicer shoulder straps with more padding 2) A larger redesigned chemical tank (going from 3.7 gal in the 868 to 4 gal in the 870) 3) The new larger tank includes a really nice carrying handle which makes moving the blower around much easier s opposed to lifting it by the shoulder straps. NOTE: The newer 870 model $70 US more than the model 868. If I missed any other improvements or identified any of the improvements incorrectly please leave comments accordingly.

Came here looking for any information on the Invatech 870, glad to hear it's the same machine. My husband ordered a model 868 directly from Invatech in Canada. The shipment from Invatech arrived two days later but in the box was a model 870 not a 868. Other than on the Invatech website we couldn't find any information on it. We were going to call and complain they sent the wrong model. Glad I found this video! We called to confirm your claims. All is good. They told us they were out of stock on the 868 so they and are shipping out 870's as a replacements. We're happy!

Glad I could help. I was originally contemplating the Stihl 450 but I'm only spraying my own yard. If I sprayed professionally I would have gone with the 450 but since I'm not a business I couldn’t justify the cost difference between the 450 and the 868. When researching the 868 I discovered other make/models that looked the same … just differences in the "color" of the plastics used. (e.g., the Invatech 868 Mister Duster, the Cardinal 3.5 Gallon Backpack Mosquito Fogger, the Tomahawk 3.7 Gal Turbo Boosted Backpack Fogger etc.) all were of the same design, same aluminum frame, same gas tank, same chemical tank etc. I eventually determined the “primary assembly” comes out of China and final assemblies are completed in the US or Canada depending on the make and model. The 868’s seem to have the best price. I found multiple sellers in the US offering the 868 but decided I'd rather not risk any possible hassle by ordering from a 3rd party reseller In the end I decided on the 868 due to price, being able to buy direct, “and” the availability of parts listed on the invatechitalia website. Not to mention Invatech Italia in Canada ships the 868 via FedEx 2 Day Air to US addresses. The bonus was they shipped me an 870 due to having no inventory on the 868. Cool!

Where is everyone buying them from? Direct from the manufacturer or Amazon?

@@MicahFunk Amazon doesn't actually sell them. The ones your find on Amazon are being offered by 3rd part resellers. In these cases Amazon only acts as the shipper. Don't be misled by the "Visit the Invatech Italia Store" at the top of the page as it just links you back to the 3rd party reseller (more often than not a company called Georgia Spray). Not saying Georgia Spray is bad in any way... they may be a top notch company but if you have problem with the order (e. damage, missing items, etc) you will have to work it out with the seller, not Amazon. Also, although not guaranteed, many of us who have ordered the 868 directly from Invatech received an 870 instead with all the upgrades at no additional charge... a pretty nice bonus. (invatech - dot - com). Fast shipping out of Canada (pssst... no sales tax)🤫

Nice video . im just letting you know what i did to my sprayer because of the weight of the sprayer with the water in it . I have a heavy duty packout frame from Cabelas thats L shaped and its really light weight so i strapped this down to it and its way better on my back than those new and improved straps from invatech .. There is a nice padded heavy duty hip strap that takes a lot of the weight off your shoulders . At 65 years old i can more compfortably haul this around . I also made a bracket for the back of my rider that i just have to operate the hose around making it super easy to use with no weight on me ... When useing the 4 gallons of water on a large yard makes it more enjoyable to use .

TIP: or just view from 1:50 thru -3:23 to see the two primary improvements/differences between the 868 and newer 870 (i.e., chemical tank and shoulder straps).

Pull carabiner bracket, & flip hole to top. It's a much better position because hardware alignment is better, resulting in less chance of damaging caribiner, & plastic bracket.
