Purchased the 868 Invatech Italia from Mister Duster because of this video. It gets here today. After watching this, simply no comparison on the amount of fog and distance between the 868 vs the 200. 868 distance and coverage = superior IMHO from what I saw. Thank you sir for this

It's certainly not painfully loud. I've run it a few times without ear protection and did not experience anything like ringing or pain. However for the majority of the times that I've used it I've worn ear protection. I use noise canceling headphones as I am spraying 5 acres at a time and a little music helps pass the chore. I've not experienced a single mechanical issue yet. It fires up easily and runs well. I run non-ethanol a.k.a. "marine grade" gasoline for my mix and rinse the chemical tank with clean water after each treatment.

I really struggled on what unit to buy and this video sealed the deal for me. I was between the Invatech 868, Tomahawk TMD14 turbo boosted and the Stihl SR200. The Stihl just looked like a toy and had the highest price tag out of the three. The Tomahawk and the Invatech appear to be the same exact machine. Everything appears identical in the same spots, just different colored plastic and a different place to order from. In my research I cam across "Paddock Machinery" which again appears to be the same machine jsut different stickers. Betwwen the Tomahawk and the Invatech the reviews I have found that appear to have tested both machines claim the Invatech to be loud... On the Invatech, can you see the turbo booster pump? If it is present, you need to disengage it before using the dry/granule or leaf blower only. Tomahawk has this plastered all over everything so you dont burn the turbo pump up. Just a heads up to everyone.
@adam8323

Like a toy? It's the typical stihl look. Which almost always means quality. In this case you are definitely paying for the name. Invatech seems like the better buy. Id be interested to know the longevity of the Invatech.

Considering you can spread solids with the Invatech, wouldn't the SR450 be a better machine to compare it to? Not to mention the Invatech 868 has 51.7cc of displacement, the Sr450 has a 63.3cc of displacement and yet the SR 200 has 27.2cc.... it's no wonder the Sr200 was out performed... I realize this a 4 year old video but I'd like to see the similar machines go head to head, this video looks like it was based on price point alone.

The 868 would be an amazing deal at $269. Unfortunately they increased the price to $359. Still a good deal, but when you add in the stihl quality and customer service and readily available parts, it's much less clear cut. The fact that they would increase the price so much on a product they were already selling at $269, is pretty crappy since it's not a new version.

When I was a little more spry and had a little more pep in my step I would use setting 3... i was going for speed. 2 is the optimal setting most of the time for most people. If you're motivated to keep a slightly quicker pace, setting 3 is fine. Just don't trip. Yard divots are out there... falling with a backpack blower/sprayer on isn't a pleasant experience... and if you land wrong the tank can shatter or a pebble can puncture it. Had both things happen over the years. Also stepped in holes covered by leaves and have fallen through an old rotted deck... Hazardous work.

Although a good review... it only scratched the surface. How does the quality of the shoulder straps compare between the two? Strap padding? How about the back padding? Horse power? CFM (cubic feet per minute)? Unfortunately was not a showdown nor a fair apples to apples comparison using the two mosquito misters featured in this review. For example: The Stihl SR200 only has a 1.07HP engine whereas the Invatech is 3.7 HP. FYI: Stihl currently offers three different mosquito mister models - SR 200, SR 430, and SR450. The 430 and the 450 both use the same engine which is rated at 3.9HP which would made the SR 450 a better unit to compare to the Invatech. Regardless... the HUGE price difference between Invatech and Stihl is a hard pill to swallow. Like the Invatech, the Still SR 450 also has the ability to dispense powdered products (the SR 430 does not). Worse yet... when you consider the "pressure tank pump" that comes "standard" with the Invatech... it is offered by Stihl for the SR450 as an $120 accessory option PN 42440071004 (FYI: Stihl also offers a pressure pump kit for the SR 200 PN 42410071996). So... to do a true apples to apples Stihl to Invatech you would have purchase a SR 450 and then purchase and install the $120 pressure pump kit which would bring the total price of the SR 450 to $869 versus Invatech price of $299 (FYI: Its $299 when purchased directly from the Invatech website or $329 if you purchase it from misterduster. All that being said... from a price standpoint... Invatech is the clear winner! I love Stihl and have several of their products but for this most recent purchase I gave the nod to Invatech due to the price variance. More specs: ..Stihl SR 200 - 1.07HP - 341 CFM - 2-year limited warranty - 18.7 lbs (dry) - "Advertises" - horizontal reach coverage to be 29.4 feet ..Stihl SR 450 - 3.7HP - 542 CFM - 2-year limited warranty - 28.2 lbs (dry) - "Advertises" - horizontal reach coverage to be 48 feet .Invatech 868 - 4.3HP - 805 CFM - 3-year limited warranty - 22.0 lbs (dry) - "Advertises" - horizontal reach coverage to be 39 feet

I just sold my 868 Invatech partly because I can’t handle the weight. It must be 70plus pounds when full. I give it 10/10 for reliability and engine performance. If you store it properly, 2 pulls and it always starts, never stalls. BUT, only 5/10 for over all quality. They use terrible quality hose clamps. the one in the bottom of the container disintegrated into pieces. If you are ok with changing all of the hose clamps to stainless steel, 7-8 of them, it might last for years. Typical problem with these chinese items is that anything made of rubber breaks down with time. I’m sure that an Echo or Stihl will out last the 868. But it blows as shown.

You’re comparing apples and oranges.. the 868 is comparable to the Stihl SR430 or SR450. Not the SR200. The 868 has double the engine of the sr200. The 868 and SR430/450 have close to the same size engine. That would be a fair comparison. Granted for the money you spend on the Stihl you can buy two 868s. But still you can’t compare a Honda Civic to an s500.

The Civic will almost never have an engine problem, cost less for brakes and oil changes, every mechanic on any corner will be able to fix it, it will cost less to insure, it will cost less to fill up and get better gas mileage. Yes it may be smaller and a little slower, BUT it’s 1/3 the initial cost too! The 2019 civic is $32k first 5 years. The 2017 s550 is $95k......🤣😂🤣😂🤣. I’ll take 3 civics please
