Tbh I've never gotten used to how the Porsche SUVs look. So this is a welcome relief. The RR Sport SVR always looked a little too big and cumbersome for all that power, but this is just right and a beautiful sounding V8 to top it off. Perfect!
It is competitor in terms of performance. There is no macan with that much power at the moment. Cayenne Turbo is the only Porsche SUV which can hold a candle to the SVR
@@MiroGalabov Is it really? Even though the Porsche has also 550HP, it delivers almost over 100NM more torque and despite being bigger and heavier it's still vastly faster.
Exactly this. The Macan Turbo Performance is similar in price and performance. Bit down on power but Porsches always know how to put power down on the tarmac more efficiently. Even though at the end of the video the reviewer says he's not biased towards British cars, by comparing this to a Cayenne he's making a huge mistake as an automotive journalist and proving himself wrong. Of course the Cayenne Turbo is more expensive, it's a bigger SUV! Unsubbed.
I know all thr German fanboys will give the Jag stick. But now realise from 2017 Jagiar has had a better reliability record in the UK than both BMW and Audi. Also a jag to rival the Cayenne? Yes please!
The 0-60 time is actually too slow reported from Jaguar...people are reporting times of 3.8-4.0 which seem more likely for 550+ hp supercharged v8 with the weight of the car...
.. and the Alfa STILL beats it. 3.6 I love Jags, I don't like the front of the stelvio - but Alfa every time. Jag needs to up their game interior design wise. F-Type shows the way. Saloons and SUVs gotta have SEXier interiors. They are too bland. Engineering is vital but this is how jag can beat the oh so excellent, male German machines. Alfa does it. Now for the British version.
But the normal F-pace competes with glc, x3 and other cars in that segment. E-pace competes with the x1 and other cars in that segment.. Not quite sure what you mean by saying "its their full size SUV"?
Now do a comparison between this and the Stelvio Q. Yes the Jag may have a better interior but I think the Alfa walks it on a road like that. And I think it's a lot more fun/more spectacular.
Did you sit in a new Jag lately? I assume not since you think it might have a better interior than an Alfa. Let me assure, it does not. There's not a panel in a new Jag interior that won't squeak or crackle when you press it with your finger. They're full of questionable plastics and cheap looking glossy black surfaces. The XF feels cheaper than a Mercedes A class inside, and it's supposed to be an E class rival. They're not well put together at all. Alfa on the other hand, as weird as that might sound, is. The Stelvio and Giulia both have incredibly well put together interiors with a very solid feel comparable to Audi, with zero squeaks or rattles. Especially the QV versions which have every single surface in the interior covered in highest quality leather, metal or real carbon fiber.
@@derbigpr500 Generally speaking agree with you but I think you're being very generous saying the QV's are covered in the highest quality leather. I had a poke around in one as I have an ML63 that I am looking to replace and have to say I felt the interior was the biggest letdown. Was thinking to go for the Cayenne but then tried an E63S estate the other day and am now arguing with the wife about we don't need a tall car :)
@@derbigpr500 I actually own a jag XF2015 and compared to my friends E-Class im glad I got the jag... don't even wanna start to talk about audi. I mean yes it got a bit of cheaper plastic here and there but over all its not that bad
@MiroGalabov @caymanblack I think in most cases a turbocharged engine will have more at the top end than a supercharged engine. Is like a VF Engineering supercharged Huracan Performante even when maxed out with E85 still cannot beat a stock 720S.
@@Rascallucci it's not the top end on most turbo cars. It's how broad the Torque is distributed (so it makes more horsepower for a longer time). The area under the horsepower curve on a dyno chart is the total power put down
But it is slower than the Alfa. Does it handle as well? Is it as light? Does it have 50-50 weight distribution? I doubt it. Hot rod in a straight line? Let's see. I think it will lose ..
Cayenne is bigger than the Stelvio and F Pace range. It competes with the Grand Cherokee. Different class! This goes head with the GLC, Stelvio, X3M etc.
Not really a fan of SUVs, but this is one handsome car. And that venerable AJV8 is an excellent engine, I can vouch for that, having put 70,000 miles on one.
"this jag has more poke than the cayenne turbo"0-62 time in jag 4.3 ……... 0-62 time in Porsche with launch 3.9 cayenne also has more BHP and torquePorsche cayenne quicker than this thing... and the RR sport SVR... quite a lot quicker!
The thing is, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo is a member of the officially most reliable car brand in the world known for building indestructible cars, and the F-Pace SVR is...how shall we put it...NOT.
Range rover Velar SV Autobiography Dynamic is the most direct competitor, same chassis, same engine, same tech, same 0-60. Interesting to see how land rover and Jaguar do something very different with the same ingredients.
@@i3e4sty99 That entirely depends on what S-class you're talking about. The S coupe has it very well integrated behind the circular badge. The sedan has it slightly more visible, but depending on how light reflects off the sensor, you can't see it as well as on the Jag. There it looks ugly even on the thumbnail of this video, lol.
comparisons are cayenne turbo and alfa??? alfa is a compact suv and cayenne is a different customer (200k). comparisons are the GLE AMG63 and X5M. Almost exact HP. C'mon auto express.
Those black wheel arches make it look waaaay too cheesy. Why jaguar why???! 80K for an suv and you muck up its sexy styling by making it look like a Nissan Juke.
So you've worked hard all of your life, hit retirement and have the means to splurge on one forever daily luxury car. Do you consider a new F type SVR with options at £85k or a used Cayenne Turbo. I'd only go Porsche in that circumstance. Imagine buying a car that they could bring out last year due to quality issues.....nope.
steve conveniently forgot GLC63s which eats this crap for breakfast lunch and dinner and wipes the floor with it as a bonus. in this category the one to beat is glc63s not macan and definitely not the alfa.
@@yungdadi Range Rover is more "luxury" in drive. It is much quieter and it feels slower. After all you don't want to drive fast. Jaguar is completly opposite, it is loud, fast and things like steering wheel is much sportier. I hope you'll understand ;) Go on a test drive!
Weird since the Velar SVR doesn’t exist. The Velar SVAutobiography however won’t be out till way after this so if anything the velar js a rebadged f pace
