Yak meat is almost identical to beef and Jeffery’s animals are probably being raised much more humanely and healthily than most of the cows you get your burgers and steaks you eat Ethan….

This just shows how disconnected Americans are with their food. It’s so important to support ethical farming, the big meat industry is so sick- the animals have terrible lives from start to finish… as we say on my farm “our animals only have one bad day” ❤️ The way the whole crew is talking you’d think they are hardcore vegans, yet they all are meat eaters?

I think it's funny to joke about but really this is no big deal, if anything it's more ethical than supporting companies who actually abuse the animals. At least he's giving them good lives

I do have to say that although it may seem weird, many people who have farms who care and love for their animals do still have them butchered. it's better than the industrialized farming complex that most americans get their meat from.

Call me crazy, but I actually really applaud Jeffree here for raising meat ethically and not being ignorant to what he’s eating. I think there would be far fewer people eating fast food if everyone knew exactly what happens behind the scenes for each burger patty imo 🤷‍♀️

If we're being mature about the subject, if one wanted to maximize the amount and quality of lives of yaks in the modern world, the solution would be ethical ranching.

If you can source meat you know has a great life and are loved by their owner why the hell wouldn’t you take the opportunity to stop contributing to the torture generator of the meat industry, as well as the carbon of a national or god forbid international meat industry. I really don't get the big deal. He didn't say he would never go into yak meat products, he just said he wasn't doing it at that moment. Plus he has like hundreds of yaks. Not just the cute ones on video with cute names. It's the fucking circle of life. Plus he never said they were his "pets", not literally. He just raises and care for them, and they probably all have different production lines (some are for yarn and fur, some are for meat consumption).

IMO Jeffree Star is living the dream. He has a lot of ups and downs but farming is really a commendable style of living and I'm happy for him. Like what do you expect him to do with dying yak? Rot???

Peace and love but more research was definitely needed. He made a video and stated the yaks he keeps as “pets” aren’t being used for meat or anything expect being “pets” he has other yaks that are just for farming means but they are treated so much better than the regular supermarket meat. The yaks he used for farming means are tagged so you can track where your meat has came from. So much better than your regular meat that no one has any clue where it is coming from

These yaks are getting treated so much better than the meat that you and admittedly I eat regularly. If you’re not vegan or vegetarian I don’t see how you could honestly have a problem with this

Ethan and The crew are growing more disconnected from real life everyday waking day... the “conservatives” he loves to hate are right when stating that this “please everybody all the time” lifestyle is not sustainable. For the first time in a long time we have a healthy, wholesome comment section with morals, displaying a real realization for how disconnected the cast is with real life, Jeffrey star is a terrible person but growing/raising you’re own food is an essential part of human life and is far more humane than the treatment of the food Ethan eats.

Jeffrey isn’t butchering his yaks that he named. Those are pets. He has a pasture full of yaks that are for food. He does not name those. He mentioned that he bought more land (his neighbors properties) in order to buy more yaks. I’m sorry but H3H3 should really missed the mark with this one. You can say what you want about Jeffrey, but you have to admit that man really loves and cares for his animals 💟☮️

Ethan, what is the difference between these yaks and cows? The horns and different hair? I've spent time with cows and I can say that they are beautiful, feeling creatures with souls, that you happily consume. Dont get me wrong, I think cows are delicious, I'm just pointing out the weird hypocrisy. Also, cattle farming is a self replenishing resource. They breed themselves, and I bet JS raises them a lot more ethically than the mass produced beef you consume on a regular basis.

It’s really not about “raising animals for food” or “butchering the yaks”. It’s hypocritical for the owner of a vegan cosmetics company to have a meat company. People who care about animal abuse in cosmetics HUGELY overlap with the vegetarians and vegans. Obviously they don’t want to support a man who has a meat company. Also it’s never a good marketing tactic to show how the animals you’re going to slaughter are “so smart and sweet and cute”. Duh.

If Jeffree had launched the idea of humanely raising and humanely slaughtering high-quality meat, this would not be the issue it is. He could have found a better way to introduce his audience to his change in decision, promoting it with buzzwords like sustainable, organic, humane, etc. And there’s true value there! We need to do better by our livestock and by our bodies that consume what we do. But this dude is just a mess.

About $1000 per yak, 20 yaks is 20k, they reproduce and feed annually is probably about another 2-3k depending on how the farm works, and not that I’m supporting Jeff butttaaaa farm raised meat is a lot LOT safer than American “farms” that beat out actual prices for ethically raised meat
