Used to have a timeshare there when I was a kid. It was much more family oriented than you would think.

In the seventies or eighties?! Because by ‘81 it was no longer owned and operated by Playboy Ent.

Love your videos and adventures! My grandparents used to frequent here. They really enjoyed the food. 😳 At their home bar in their swizzle collection I remember them having the Playboy stirrers. I will have to find them and add them to my collection.

I went there in 1982 for state HS competitions for DECA. There were still remnants of its former glory and I even got a Playboy ashtray 😉

There was a murder there around 10-15 years ago when the place still had a bar and used to house pipeline workers. I served on the jury.

I was there twice-in 1979 and in 1981. A classmate was a bunny there. I still have a no longer fitting T-shirt from there and a chipped drinking Cup,both of which have the famous logo.

The reason why Playboy failed were from multiple factors. #1 promises were made by local politicians to run thru a casino license for them and they didn't come through for them. The game room was constructed for that purpose with all the infrastructure installed. All they had to do was to bring in the tables and slots. #2 People forget about how Hefner's partner was skimming off the top from their other casino's. They we're losing 2 mil a month just at The Brittania in the Paradise island. After that the various entities that bought used it as a write off and then Mulvahill totally screwed with his time shares. My entire family worked there in all different departments and my Mom was eventually their auditor.

I Worked There In 1974 When I Was A Sr. In High School Evenings And Weekends In Housekeeping Stocking The Maid Closets East And West Wings. One Wing Had 8 Floors And One Had 7 Floors. The Roof And Outside End Wall Always Leaked On The West Wing Because That Whole Wing Was Sinking Into The Ground Even Back Then . It Was A Terribly Built Structure. I Still Have My Last Pay Check Stub And Union Dues Book Hotel Restaurant And Bartender Workers Union . I Started At 2.25 Per Hr. And Then Got 2.45. Per Hour. My Biggest Weekly Net Pay Was Around $ 90.00 . I Could Tell You Stories About All Kinds Of Things I Saw And Heard Going On . I Was Like A Fly On The Wall.
