The new 2024 Karate Kid movie will star Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan - and the story has leaked! Will the movie be any good? Ken Cole and Drew Rohaly go over the story and give their reaction to it. The new Karate Kid movie is expected to come out at the same time as Cobra Kai Season 6.

In Karate Kid 2, Mr. Miyagi explains that Karate (meaning Open Hand) originated in Okinawa, Japan, but it's roots came from China... Shin-Po Sensei fell asleep off of coast of Okinawa and woke up on coast of China.. He came back later with Chinese wife and two kids....and the secret to Miyagi-Do Karate....

We've had Daniel, Migyagi, Julie, and Johnny-centric movies/shows. Why not go a bit deeper and have a Chozen-centric movie? He is the sensei who has to teach karate to an orphaned street urchin Kumiko rescued after a horrible beat-down. And since it takes place in Okinawa, where the rules, regulations, and laws of engagement differ from the States, he can go full Miyago-Do training, and we can see what was written on those ancient scrolls be put into action. I mean a "no-holds-barred" that takes the events of KK2 and unleashes them.

For the love of The Karate Kid movies, all 4 and Cobra Kai series, I will go for this movie. I would like to take its first hand experience in theatres. Nowadays, I can't even say this for MCU movies but definitely YES for the new Karate Kid movie. So the patience wait begins 👍🙏

The studio is trying to ride on the success of Cobra Kai with this new Karate Kid movie. Slapping the Karate Kid name on a kung fu movie is dumb.

They're looking for the next Karate Kid globally, so it doesn't necessarily have to be a Chinese/Asian kid relocating to the US. If Ralph and Jacky Chan are in the movie, then the leaked information doesn't make any sense.

Exactly. Daniel and Mr. Han are late/last-minute additions to the story.

@@KenCole nothing about this feels right. I mean is it actually in a different universe from Cobra Kai? Not everything needs to have a multiverse… this is going too far with it. And Daniel paired with Mr Han? That feels wrong too. I mean Daniel (and Ralph) are the biggest supporters of Mr Miyagi. Now he’s crossing over with 2nd rate Mr Miyagi? I know that’s not the nicest way to put that, Mr Han has his own merits. But he is undoubtedly a redone Mr Miyagi, and one that’s not nearly as legendary. All of that somehow feels cheap.

I think they just want to do the will smith kid again because the wokeness in it didn't do that well before cobra kai. Now with cobra kai out there a new karate kid would bank.
