Adding just little more to this comment: is super fantastic I do it all the time. I jut add some liner to the glass lid because I hate scratches in expensive cookware glass lid. But is a wonderful way to fully use that space.
The shallow cupboard where you have the empty glass jars and the disposable plastic would be perfect for the children's dishes. They could be set up the way dishes are normally set up in a cupboard, which would make them easier for the children to get out and put away, rather than in bins. I'd bet Suzanne would have some great ideas, since she was a Montessori teacher!
Enjoyed 😊 My husband and I downsized from a 3200 sq ft country home, to an 1300sq ft uptown urban loft , that's when you really scrutinize what you really love and want to keep. Mostly we sold everything and bought new, l did keep some things my wedding china, my Grandmother's wine glasses and a Pottery Barn linen sofa that we purchased right before our move. It was a lesson in restraint but we both love our new home and lifestyle!!
Hey why can't we see clips on fb of CC like u do Donny? and when we do see clips of her they cut short and cut over to Donny..we enjoy both children luv CC's energy happiness and laughter..thanks for this video always a pleasure watching seeing new ideas😀
I'm watching this and commenting as I go lol. The pioneer woman has a beautiful tea box! I actually did purchase it, and its gorgeous and holds all of my tea, it keeps it sealed tight, and I love it on my small, very small coffee bar!
She could have put them where her Mason jars are, and the Mason jars in the divided trash cabinet. Far healthier for the children. Its closer to the table, so they could help set the table for dinner too. Even if it is just Mickey Mouse waffles. Children like to help around the home, it's a game to them. Jen wont move them, if the amount of comments on the video she took down did nothing to change her mind, nothing will. She is her own worst enemy with her stubborn teenager mentality at times.
She is happy with being able to spread items in cabinets ... why so insensitive about the kids’ things. Spill-over food storage? But no place for children’s essentials? Sad!
@@helene2762 she does yoga, runs, and wekq routines all day. As well as bake sugar loaded unhealthy vegan treats. Her cleaning is wipe the sides down with water, she stopped using cleaning products during this global pandemic for some odd reason. Moving things from one plastic bin to another is not organizing. Its faffing around. Her RU-vid videos would have you believe one thing, her IG stories show completely opposite. People are right to be alarmed. Nothing should be in the same cabinet as trash and food waste.
I have streamlined my container collection so I store them in the cabinets with the lid already attached to them and they look very cohesive and neat I don't have to look for the lid that goes with the container anymore. It works especially if you have extra room in your kitchen cabinets anyway.
I am so inspired by your videos in this series. After the drawer video I went to the container store(finally one in my area!) and bought a lot of organizational things and for working on tackling my house room by room. Thanks you so much for sharing and caring and being you!🥰
OMG, you are SO lucky to get a container store! I live in CT and I have been hoping for years to get one here but they never have! The nearest ones are in New York and Rhode Island. Ugh!
Consider a standing magazine holder, like for a bookcase, for Silpat storage. It looks like they'd fit perfectly there, maybe with room for a roll of parchment, too.
She's getting better on the extreme materialism, with the tripling up on the same stuff. I think she's becoming more self aware of the fetish on containers to hold containers isn't the hight light of life, through therapy.
Beautiful kitchen Jen. I think the extra cabinets at the end would be a great place for cookbooks. Looking forward to the pantry video, need some help with mine. Thanks for sharing🙂
Oh my you inspired me a while ago to do my kitchen strictly in zones so all coffee tea chocolate items including appliances gadgets and all cups in one area. The baking zone has everything there, and prep area has all items corralled there. The pantry is divided into soups /broths/ sauces , all canned, packaged, dry, vegetables on one shelf and all packaged, dry, canned meats on another. This is labeled so everyone knows where it all goes. My storing/measuring station zone is at the island which is also where all types of storage containers are stored -glass, plastic , and zips and lunch bags and baking gift boxes of all kinds. I also keep my twine, ropes for kitchen use to wrap baking boxes. I also keep my trusty gram scale there too. I love that you are back and I love ❤️ your family. And I've been watching silently for years .... Keep up the good work . Oh yeah I also keep a zone for anything nuts and snacks/ desserts. My serving area has all dinner plates and salad plates along with silverware. It really saves time not to have set up table everyone is served buffet style. Kids have there own area setup. They lik playing grownup and select their own plate and silverware. I lastly have a beverage zone where everyone can get their drink and glass. Hope I can inspire you for a change. Thank you Jen
You mentioned that you don't use the glasses often. You might consider putting them on the top shelf and the tea and cocoa bins on the middle shelf so it's not such a high reach. Or maybe put half the glasses on top and put the teas and cocoas that your really into for the time being into one bin and place that on middle shelf with half the glasses and the other bin on top with the other half of glasses.
I am always so excited whenever you post a new video! Today I was feeling down and beating myself up but when i see your videos, they always cheer me up and I always learn a new way of organizing things. Thanks for helping people by what you share; it is truly appreciated more than you can ever know.
Just moved back into our home after it was gutted by a fire and I stumbled onto your video. ASTOUNDED to see our kitchen layouts are nearly exact down to the white cabs with grey island. Thanks for giving me guidance on how to organize it, great video!
I roll my SIL pads and place them in paper towel tubes. You can put contact paper around them if you want. They fit perfectly in the tubes and you are recycling 😉
Can you please link the white plates and dishes that you use? Or provide the name of the line? I’m looking to update my plates and dishes and bowls soon. Everything’s all mismatched and I’m ready for a change! Thanks and I love all your videos!!
I have time off in October and plan to tackle organization. I’m excited! Like you, I’ve found less is more these days. Sounds strange but the less I have the less clutter in my brain.🤷♀️ Not sure if this would work for you but I actually just leave my silicon sheets right on/in my cookie sheet or pan. But I tend to use the same ones all the time so it might not work for you but I pull them out and they’re ready to go and I don’t have to store them separately. Have a nice weekend.😊💕
Do you have an amazon store with all Of your favorite products? I would love to see everything (you have such a great collection!) to compare to my kitchen and where I am missing things!
I use a pan stacker - space saver and PROTECTs the pans. If you swap out your tea and hot chocolate bins with the drinking glasses... You might find it easier access and maybe not hafta move that shelf up if u don't wanna.
I think those shallow cabinets over there by your table (where you have those jars and to-go Tupperware) would be great for can goods, jarred goods, pasta, cereal boxes etc.. because they are shallow.
I love your kitchen. It’s beautiful. I loved your old kitchen but I think this one trumps that one by far :) it brings me peace to see all your organization. Ahhhh organization....
Recently re-did my former kitchen organization. Been making small projects for myself ever since the pandemic hit. Like you I basically refreshed my existing and did some purging. I also came to the exact same conclusion about the baskets in the kitchen. Will not ever use woven or cloth again. Converting everything to plastic.
Those metal wire wine racks that are meant to mount under upper cupboards are great for rolled silpat storage. Just mount in the top of the cupboard which is wasted space anyway.
Thanks for sharing Jen. It is always so nice to see a fresh new kitchen. I completely understand when you say that once you live in a kitchen for sometime is when you understand what should go where.
I feel like we all started to use glass containers because of the chemical safety concerns of using so much plastic. As much as I like those rubbermaid containers, I only use them for dry foods, fruit or baked goods etc. They might be BPA safe but they are still made of plastic. I still use the Pyrex to store leftovers etc because its just easier to reheat. Pyrex does sell replacement lids. They are often sold at Corningware outlets and online.
Thanks Jen, I went out today and purchased the iDesign Lid organizer at The Container store. It will be a life changer, no more avalanche of lids while putting away leftovers. Loved this video, you sound like you are in your element again. Hugs.
Looks very functional and a great use of space! I had to downsize to a kitchen about 1/4 that size so I’m drooling over the cabinet space! But you’re right, having that smaller space makes you choose only the things that you really enjoy using. Nice job!
I think you should try out the baking thing in the cabinet you pointed out. If you don’t like it you could change it later. I also have a thought for your deep pantry units. What if your continued to use the containers you have with one behind the other but keep a clipboard with a “map” so you know where things are without having to pull them out to look inside them. I did this for years at school for all the supplies I needed to store. It worked really well.
I really enjoyed your video. I live minimally and I'm in a different season of living but it's nice reflecting back. Your kitchen is beautiful, thank you for sharing.
Hi Jenn, any chance of an updated baking center video? Curious if you still like the Rubbermaid produce containers? Would love any updated kitchen/fridge videos please!
I am taking a leaf from your book...ok, a couple pages from your book. I love the tea bin, placed high. I currently have large cups with lids there, but I think your placement is better. I’m also getting those loose lid holder/organizers. Wow, it looked so much better afterwards!
Thanks for sharing- inspiring me to do some reorganizing! Would you do a video or post on favorite hot drinks? Caffeinated and non caffeinated. Would love to branch out and I appreciate your focus on healthy options.
I’m always anxious for Friday’s to come so I can see what’s new. Would you consider content twice a week. It seems sooo far apart from Friday to Friday. Love your organization and your new kitchen is amazing. Prayers for a fantastic week for you and your family.
I CAN NOT believe you're keeping KIDS plates and mugs NEXT TO the TRASH BIN!!!! (divided or not) it's ABSOLUTELY GROSS and UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I lived for 14 yrs in a 5th wheel trailer - with ultimately 6 children by the end of that time. We put things in convenient unconventional places. None of my children ever got sick bc of it or were traumatized. I highly doubt Jen lets her trash get piled & nasty in there. Freedom of choice. Let's be kind & live in peace. Your kitchen is lovely, Jen.
Christine Prettyman Christine, no offense but Jen doesn’t live in a 5 wheel trailer but $800.000 home with tones of cabinets... no excuses here .... none !
I was think what about a file holder for your mats ? You could roll them up and it would fit neat into that section . And yes for the flour cabinet .. I have one and it works a treat xxxx
Beautiful kitchen Jen! I store my silplat with my baking sheets. I lay them on my baking sheet and line them up just like you, they never fall out. Great idea on the baking cabinet, I would LOVE to do that. I did manage to organize all my baking pans, sheets etc right under my mixer but my baking ingredients are still in my pantry all in OXO containers. Looking forwards to any updates you do and share. ♥️
It's great that you can spread out in your kitchen! 😊 I have set-up a baking center in my circa 1900 galley kitchen. I absolutely love it! Makes baking so enjoyable. TFS Beautiful setup!❤
I loved this video and your energy! Thank you for adding some positive energy out into the world! On a selfish note, I am hoping you post some fall and holiday themed content this season. A little normalcy in a stressful world! 😊
I cannot imagine putting tea (or any consumable) so high up and hidden. It’s like it’s tucked away in storage rather than something you use regularly. Do you literally pull that box down every day with your tea maker to make a cup of tea? What a palaver!
Wow, I never thought about putting my Corning in the corner cabinet. I have the French white too. My corner is a mess with food storage containers. I need to swap the two cabinets and I think it would work much better.
Hi Jenn, I just wanted to let you to be careful with the bananas on your countertops. They release something that will permanently stain your marble or granite. It happened to me on a marble table and I had to have it professionally re polish to fix it and that’s how I found out about the banana ruining it. Your kitchen is looking beautiful and I love how you organized your cabinets and drawers. I remember finding you when another you-tuber recommended you. It was a long long time ago and I think it might have been Nikki. Anyways my first video I saw of you was organizing your purse and I loved that video and the way you organized your purse and I was hooked on you and your organization style. I have always enjoyed watching your Christmas decorations videos too. I don’t remember if I have ever commented before but I have been subscriber for many years now. Your channel had a different name and I think you had another channel that I was also subscribed too. It’s been a long time. I want you to know that I admired you very much. You are a strong women and a great mom. I’m looking forward to more videos of your lovely home. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed weekend. 🥰🥰🥰
Loved the clip with you organizing the second black bin for tea, Jen. Tetris at its best. 😂 PS. Your current tea bin looks a tad different than your tea drawer of yesteryear 😉 Loved this video! 🇨🇦
Jen you organised you kitchen perfectly .I think your idea about putting your baking needs in the same area is a wonderful idea .I was wondering if not being to rude to ask where have you put all your cook books ?
I still don't understand why you insist to keep the kids stuff in that cabinet. You have SO MUCH SPACE, you said so yourself. Can't believe you don't see how bad it looks.. Even Winnie's stuff stored at better places.
