"Korkers has been a long-time innovator of technical footwear. Starting out helping the logging industry keep a steady foot on the timbers they were taking downriver. With demand from Steelheaders in Oregon, the company quickly saw a need in the fishing industry for a better traction wading boot and delivered.
The River Ops Boa boot is no exception to Korkers' high level of innovation. Its comfort and durability are of the best quality and the BOA system aids in the simplicity of use.
Korkers River Ops Boa with the OmniTrax interchangeable sole system comes in two sole packages. The Felt/Vibram Rubber and Felt/Studded Vibram. For an even wider range of conditions, it will accept any of the offered add-on soles. My favorite is the Aluminum Hex soles. Especially when wading in freestone rivers with large round moss-covered rocks.
It is a burly yet lightweight boot. Its Exo-Tec™ materials make it one of Korkers most durable boots. Built with hydrophobic materials and the channeled midsole this boot will dry fast. None of these components sacrifice comfort as the EVA midsole offers a soft cushion and the reinforced heel cup helps keep you in place and supported throughout the day. On top of it all, they added the Boa lace system making it extremely fast and easy to suit up and tear down each day."

I have Korkers, the most uncomfortable boots for my toes I’ve ever had. Maybe I have the narrowest boots ever made and I’m a regular 10 and they are an 11.

So can you say these work for someone who walks miles each time I fish?

What’s the difference between these and buckskins? I’m going to be using korkers for fishing saltwater jetties and surf

I'm not sure how you would adjust tightness on various sections of the boot, if the BOA control is on the top only? How do you go about it? It's a question for me, in now deciding between the laced and BOA versions. Thank you for posting this review!

For the most part the BOA system is great about pulling where there is the least amount of resistance. When I am putting my boots on I tent to flex my ankle forward as I go to help with this. You can also pull the tongue to help tighten lower down. Like any wading boot I also always tighten my boot after getting into the water for a moment as they tend to pack out a little when wet. This helps to secure the boot overall.

Thanks for the review. Could you tell me how these boots compare to another boot with the Boa option, the Orvis Pros? In addition to comfort, I was wondering how they compare in terms of durability?

Lace vs BOA can be a personal choice. For me, I have found the BOA system to be very coinvent and easy to use without any durability issues. It is also backed 100% by BOA for warranty if an issue does arise. The River Ops are a more "burly" boot as compared to the Orvis Pros. I have used both and found pros and cons on either end. The Orvis is super lightweight and offers excellent traction but you have to decided Felt or Rubber. The Korkers is a heavier boot but allows for the modularity in the sole system. Felt, Rubber, Studded or Aluminum all in one boot!
