Was Brilliant, Father & Son sharing their opinions & passion - My Dad hated bikes & forbade me to ever ride let alone own one - But that didn't stop me ... hv 5 in the Garage nw 😅
@superten1780 You know, it's super tempting.... something even more nuts than the MT10. Thing is, I've had 8 completely trouble-free years with the Yamaha. Could I take the risk??
Way to go buddy ! 😅 That's perfect for keeping a narrow but necessary vision of the game and what's out there ! After all, being curious and opening your mind to other less perfect cultures is pointless for sure 😅! The world should be revolving only around Brits, that's probably the reason why you left to go to the USA, (in order to explain that to these bloody Americans I guess ! 😅) What a tremendous representative of the Brits you make ! Proud of you mate !
750 grams saved by the new headlight. Imagine what shedding 5 stones could do to the riding experience. Chopsy, stop saying a 20 stone fatty and start working on becoming a 15 stone person. You will be amazed at the difference it does to your riding ability and more importantly, life in general. Great to see your new leathers being used as intended. 👍😎
Yeah it's easy to say.. I used to be 25 stone and went down to 17, but now stabilised at 20. I literally have to eat nothing to loose weight and have accepted I'm never going to be a featherweight
Chopsy your living the dream mate !! Some machine the superduke 😮 great track great weather ! And looking good out on the track , and getting the new leathers sliders christened a bonus . Good fun mate enjoy .👍👍😁
Well done old man, I’m in the same boat. A little disappointed watched guys pass u but I could even run at your pace. Between u and 44 I have a true understanding of what this bike is about. Well done and I congratulate you on what you are doing. Much appreciate 🙏
Nice bike. A view level feature for helmet cams would be good. Not just you Chops but so many bike vloggers miss the view when dipping the head during rides.
Nice bike & pulled back from the 1290's crazy lines a touch. So, more approachable by a typical buyer, a touch more power and a clean up of any loose ends from the 1290. Heck, even I like this headlight.
It wouldn't be KTM if there weren't some random communicates, annoyingly taking half of the display space. Every time I see yellow on the display, it gives me anxiety. 😂 Still, worth it!
It’s an amazing experience on track. For me, prior to my first race season in 93, in the Australian 250 cc production series (all on exactly the same bikes - Suzuki RGV-250’s), I was quick on the streets. My first race was in perfect conditions and I thought I was going quick even though I was passed a lot. My 4th race had us back at the same track. This time the conditions were terrible. A completely wet track in windy cold conditions. After my first practice session my soon to be team manager asked how I went. My answer was obvious to me. Crap, shit conditions and the obvious slow. He just smiled and showed me my lap times which were quicker than my first attempt when I thought I was fast. Remembering this was a production class so the available tyres were designed for the roads and mine had exactly the same brand on them.
Cutting jobs in Austria to build in China. Turned me off ever buying one. Can't support the greed and potential quality issues. Just say no to Chinese made.
Looks, sounds and I'm sure is awesome. I wonder if KTM have sorted the electronic gremlins that so many people struggled with on the Gen 3. The lady flaps headlights are growing on me.
I hear you scraping when you corner (on the orange one). Nice. The full akro - I could listen to it all day. It’s a bike I’d never own - but I love it.
I would like to have one also Chops if I wasn’t almost 70 years old I’m much too old for this bike , it definitely looks like a blast to ride thanks Chops
All well and good on a track, but for 95% of users, lets see how it does on the road in real life. And how the switchgear stands up to the wet weather because some of us do ride them in the rain :) Got to be seriously good to pry me off my Gen 1
Loved your description of the dogshit flipflop chicane !! An absolute riot of a bike that would laugh at your meagre 20 st Chopsy 😎 Looking forward to your 1390 build series 👍🏻👍🏻
Looks like they put coffee in the clutch res, odd. Shame about the orange disks on the front and the wavy look, but other than that, stunning machine no doubt. Great review and great work. Nice one, chops. Don’t you sell that H2 though lol
I have the 2021. One of the things I never liked was the smaller tank. But with the stock exhaust the display after filling the tank would tell me I had 150miles. After putting the full race Akra on that lowered to 120. These days I do ride the bike more aggressively so now the low fuel light will come 95-100. As much as I like the new bike and bigger tank. I’m not ready to upgrade. I’ve spent the last two years dialing in the bike with aftermarket suspension. I want to enjoy the time and money I’ve invested in to it. Maybe next year.
Just talked to my KTM guy in Murcia about the price on a EVO model. I’ve seen allisters (44teeth) video on it but, I’m not to his spec. I’m living in Spain for a year now, near Cartagena. I need a 1390 EVO, that’s for sure. If you ever need a workshop, with tools and your own accommodations, give us a message.
Another great review and nice to see some of the other reviewers making an appearance. Must be a party pooper though and question this bike's usability in the real world of rubbish roads, speed cameras, lowering speed limits etc... seems the track is it's natural habitat. 890/990 for me! Cheers Chops, looking forward to the next one.
35 minutes and 54 seconds of grinning here watching this, especially with my evo prisoner in the garage after they salted our North Wales roads again the other day. I'm taking my 23 SDr in for a software update next Tuesday and might just bag a 1390 test, or maybe i should wait until the weather warms up a bit. Still no fan of the headlight but it wouldn't stop me having one. Maybe I'll change my mind seeing one in the flesh? Great vid anyway as always. Maybe i should test the 990, now there's a plan 😁😈
Nice job of not over riding "I don't want to be that guy"...showing the bike is more important than how fast you can go around the track on somebody else's bike...lol!
Great job, truly great job... The standard suspension bike, your lines looked much better, seemed more relaxed on the bike, working less... Am I right?
Awesome videos! Could you think of any niggles on the track/in the street compared to the M1000R or the SF V4 S, like why you would prefer either of those over the Duke? How significant or important would you consider the KTM phone app or more likely the lack of a proper one :) ? I know BMW probably has the best one in the market right now. The SF V4 S doesn't have a fuel gauge, cruise control and chugs gas like a mad man :). The BMW has a horrible bar vibrations and high speed instability. I think I'm leaning towards the Duke (coming from a 21 MT-09 SP). Cheers.
No disrespect, Mr TwentyStoner, but for me Chris Northover is the best and probably the quickest bike reviewer in UK. Is he quicker than Fagan around the track ?
I really like your reviews. Started watching all the english motovloggers/reviewers since im in the market for a new bike. Still am tho😂. But nice to see you and 44 collabing❤
Dual test comong on between this lawnmower and the magnificent M1000R. Big achievement to get a 1350 cc twin to rev 10000 revs, but i can't get to like the twin sound and the front end of the bike. On the streets, the low end torque will probably beat its 4cilinder competitors
Great video Chopsky! Jealous to be honest looks like you were having a hoot of a time out there. Wish you guys would get into some more technical data on KTM set up for track, differences between the bikes you rode, EVO vs Manual. Did all these test bikes Evo or Standard have Apex pro rear shocks fitted or just the standard shock? Curious because the previous Gen Sdr's need more swingarm angle for improvement in rear grip and finishing corners on the gas, this is accomplished with a length adjustable rear shock, the key for good track set up. The bikes you rode looked very stable with no head waggle but I'm not sure what pace you run. Did the hopped up test bike with the Akrapovic sit higher in the rear when you threw a leg over it? Lastly no one tried out that Rear end squat device on the 2024, it's supposed to be an option. Thanks
Doesn’t get much better than two mr chops videos in a week ❤❤ don’t tell mr al but your review is a lot more informative 😉 the Akrapovič is just plain dirty, luv it
Hi Chopsy, Great video once again. Sounds like the new motor will be even better suited to a new Super Adventure S. With the extra mid range torque. And yeah like you I really like the Predator style head light design. Trouble is I still love my 2012 ZX14R, and I can only have 1 bike. Decisions Chopsy, decisions 🤔 And like you I'm 6"2, so I'd fit a SAS much better than my low & fast 14. Can't wait for your on road review of the new Super Duke. 🏍🍻
The best bike for the "smiles per miles" I've ever owned is the 1290 gen 3. It was smashed by a car 2 years back and still miss the bike😅 i was interested in the new 1300 gs , but now hearing you and 44's thoughts and laughter I am feeling I might go for a gen 4 anyways 😆 you liked the gs1300 as well , witch would you go for chops??
You communicated the excitement and the performance of the bikes extremely well. I'm sure I'd have similar feelings if given a chance. Here come the the big BUT. I dislike the color orange and even in black the face is a best distinctive. The angularity of the rest of the bike isn't particularly pleasing either. I know it's a bit shallow but dang I wish they could spend some time on the styling .
Could be well worth a demo ride once the obligatory discounting begins towards the end of the year. Sod paying full price for this bike now when they'll be discounted later in the year, like every year.
Um tough question the M1000R is incredible, for a larger rider the Superduke is definitely better.. more comfortable too. But the M1000R is something very special. I think a comparison is definitely needed 👍
Be honest chops by the end of the year you will have one with the pipe and wheels,,god knows what else,,be a great run of videos,, from northern Ireland ☘️☘️☘️☘️ great video 📸
Glad they upped the cc and power has the older version was a bit limp for me, its a welcome upgrade in this world of speed traps and ludicrous insurance quotes, what a white elephant your licence will last about three Sundays come June on one of these, just get a 690 SMCR and keep your licence for 12 weeks instead
What an early bloomer you must have been, because, brace yourself, you might have had Fagan at 10, but you had me at seven. Can't wait to introduce you to my belly, my haircut and my 1290. You'd have to come to France, though. Cheers, I love your content.
