The KTM 1390 Super Duke R might be sexy on a sun-drenched circuit with slicks, but what's it like in the real world? We grabbed a BMW M 1000 R as a companion to find out... 44T MERCH - shop.44teeth.com/
I've just spent a week in Belgium and Germany. I couldn't agree more with your comments about the collapse of this country. It was pure hedonism driving on roads in the first world for a change, where police forces oddly prioritise crime over speeding... and councils don't allow potholes to exist.
Once you travel you realise that Britain is used by rich people to avoid taxes and to secure their wealth. They don't care about the roads or anything else because they just hop in a private jet and go to nicely run countries.
@paulcartwright7228 many german roads as you will probably be aware don't have pesky speed limits. You're treated as an adult to decide what's appropriate in the circumstances...
Speed Awareness Course, I too said speed doesn't kill and was attacked for it. I asked the presenter if he had gone abroad on holiday and he said he had, on a plane? Yes he said. Well why aren't you dead cos that sucker is doing 600 mph. The laughter went on for a full minute. He had a quiet "word" with me at the break. Any more of that an you will be off the course and get a conviction and points. My friend who was also on the course told me to "play the game" "it is all about money and control" He is right. Bad driving kills not speed itself. It is also dangerous being gobby - that could cost ya points!
There's a politician in Ireland trying to make it legal to drink drive locally if you live in the countryside. Some pub owners have bought minibuses to pick up customers and drop them home at closing.
I love everything you guys put out, from BBB to bike reviews and everything between. but something about you just bantering and putting around town with no real planned topics is always so enjoyable to watch.
so budget bike battle is quite possibly one of the best series you guys have ever put out, looking at this, would you guys ever consider a NON budget bike battle?? o.0
BBB Was much more fun when they did it with capable bikes (BBB italia or benidorm) now it's more of a circle jerk with the boys. I wish they went back to the old format.
I live in SW London right now and Newlands Corner has been my go to when I have an hour or so for a quick spin. So utterly depressing that it's now average speeded, it not only means you can't push on but also that you're constantly looking down to make sure your speed doesn't creep over 40 so you can't actually enjoy the roads at all. Fun.
I'm incredibly happy to have bought the 1390 SDR EVO. The running in phase was already amazing and now I can finally open it up (shortly). It's incredible on twisty mountain roads here in Switzerland
@@Showmetheevidence- German border with unlimited highways is near, and some remote mountain passes don't have any speed cameras or cops around, if you go both ways, checking it out before returning, you can open up to 2kph over the limit!
Just took a look at the new EVO at my dealer yesterday. There are indeed quite a lot of updates, to say nothing of the improvements in electronics and third gen electronic suspension. What a bike!
Hey that’s my old area too being an Aldershot boy, I used to rag my bikes around those lanes too. Namely my Rd, TDR, FZR, NC30, TL’S, etc. Then I moved to Canada in 2000. There’s no good corners in Ontario really at least not close to me, so a 2005 Bandit 1200s now with Scorpion can and Ohlins rear. Good enough for the few decent corners I can find and easy maintenance and cheap to run and insure. Insurance is crazy here in Ontario when half the year you can’t ride due to snow and freezing rain, not to mention well into the minus temps. Haven’t even got the bike on road this year yet as it just about gets warm enough to melt all the snow on the road and then we get a freak snowstorm that buggers it all up again.
The new Super Duke is like the pub munter. First of all, you and your mates are pointing at it and saying look how wide that is. But later on when you’re riding it, you don’t notice how wide it is.
Love all your videos and just listening to the 2 of you gents talk bikes. I've also had enough of staring at those sexy ass RST gloves, I need to find a way to get myself some over here in Canada!
Just ordered the super duke evo after going for a ride out on a demo, what a hilarious road machine! re. Touch screens, Indian have had them for a few years now on the Ftr1200 carbon model. They even work with normal gloves!
Vines Guildford and the 2nd gen RR takes me back to when they serviced my bike and forgot to reconnect the indicators 👍🏻 nearly died rejoining the A3 after a car nearly wiped me out 😣 never had a BMW since 😔
For about $ 8k-$9k US dollars you can still find great, low mileage '18-21 mt10's over here. I found my '18 a couple of summers back, 1k mi on it and I got it for $9400. The guy hated the gas mileage. I put a Yoshimura 3/4 decat system on it and had the ecu flashed accordingly. You've got yourself a 150whp machine that brings a 💩 eating grin every time you ride it. Aside from 23-25mpg, there's NO better bang for the buck. Put a comfort seat on it and it's all day long comfortable. The only problem is, you have to stop every hundred miles for gas😅🤣.
I have test ride with KTM 1390 superduke R. I continuos to prefer my S1000R 2016. Love 4 cilinders, love my great S1k exhaust stock sound, love my bike handling
Cracked me up about how hard bmw was but kept in pro whole time 😂😂😂. Fort fagan was gonna put in dynamic remember you liked it the best on video before 😂. Loved this video 💙👊🏼
The super duke has always been one of my favorite bikes, especially with that wide band power of a twin. This year i finally reached the point where i can buy an expensive bike, but i was totally seduced by the m1000r competition. Picking it up in 2 weeks. Hope i made the right choice!
Well I loved the "seeped venting" part of the video 😂 as for bikes I would still go for the Aprilia Tuono 1100 Factory just because it sounds epic!! And you can get really good discounts on them!
….. but it will break down before you get it home!!! Mine genuinely did every day for the week I owned it and then took it back to Colchester. I got a superduke instead.. all good and now on 10k
Chris - that double bump which caught you out after Elstead 😂 I knew it was coming and would catch you out on that big stiffy BMW !! For that reason alone it’s the KTM for me 😊
Top top Video lads ! Lovin the Tilford Massif lol 😆 live local to Frensham myself & ditto love these roads / routes but my god the huge trench potholes are just ridiculous! Ex Rodbourgh Pupil here ! You ? Hope to see you on the local roads sometime. Dan
You should try Ireland There are better roads in Siberia . The only saving grace is that we can't afford average speed / noise Cameras only the odd van or cop
You two have every reason to be impressed by these factory "road" bikes with the amount of power they make. Who could not be. Then I just saw a video of a bike called PGM. Two liter V8 from 5 valve R1. Looks well sorted. A naked bike with 300 plus HP. Have you seen that? Can only imagine your reaction to that? It's only 180 grand or so. Does it actually exist?
I used to have an S1000r and loved it, it was like an R1 with motocross handlebars. Then I got a Gen 2 SDR best bike I've ever had, never gonna sell it
The one thing that would make the M1000R that little bit nicer on the road would be an option to set the Road, Dynamic and Race DDC suspension settings to Race Pro modes. It’s so stiff because in Race Pro you don’t have any of the dynamic adjustment, just electronically adjustable static settings.
I’m a little star struck that you boys have been around my area and to the spots I go to……surprised you didn’t visit box hill and Ryka’s new look burger joint.
I have used my 150cc scooter as a work truck for years buy hauling and carrying just about anything and everything lol. I'm thinking that if I get the super duke, I could legit tow things with all that torque. I can imagine pulling up to a track day where my race bike is on a trailer and I'm using a super Duke to tow the trailer
I’m hoping for a KTM V4 superbike that blows us all away like the s1000rr did in 2010. Own a 1290 superduke R gen 3 myself as a daily. Had to look long and hard to get the right suspension setup but ones dialed in it’s even a great GT bike
@@juicer404not mods just setup. Start with putting your forks an extra mark through the tripple clamps (lowering the front of the bike) and lower high speed compression to half a turn
Had a 1290SDR but the ergos dont suit my short stature, so sold that on. I'd go for a Tuono next personally. If i wanted an inline-four I'd go Japanese and save some money.
OMG. You lads need to come over to OZ. Get that racing feeling anywhere on our “not in towns” roads, and there are thousands of klm’s of Spain type gassing roads out here for you to rip up!
Hoping for end of the season battle of the super naked. Building a track purpose M1000r. My long time race number is 44. In Korea 44 is number of double death. Scare the competition more. Lol
