Great recap Simon. Lot´s and lot´s of work done with such cool ideas! I was showing this video to my wife and she was amazed with your genius mind! Congrats for all that you guys do. I told you already but believe me you are a true inspiration for all of us. Thank you so much :)
Hello Simon, Tyler & George, I’ve been watching all your defender videos for a while, this week I picked up my new 110 Hard Top, I ordered the Tow Eyes, Front/Rear mud flaps, reversing lights, wing mirror indicators, internal rear light, LR Dashcam, side net and some extra trim clips. Revived them all yesterday and have had great fun fitting it all yesterday and today. Your videos are great and service is 1st class. Great team, thanks for the great videos. I wish Tyler all the best with his Reserve Fireman training. Kind Regards LFP
Wow so nice to hear that you have joined our group of new Defender owners. Keep us updated how you get on and keep watching for more ideas of things to do with your new Defender !
Hi Simon, will definitely be interested in the rear step & handle scuff panels. Also would like to see the rear battery installed. very informative and entertaining as usual. Keep it up, Non Stick Nick
Hi Steve - I am still not really impressed with the clips - I ordered the plastic from the roof to see what it was all about - I can see what they are trying to do but it just does not work. I have made my own design for the clip now just need to source the net and frame - it is a really useful idea and it is really easy to see through when the boot is not loaded. There are a few other items missing - I think there will be a V2 of this one in a few months.
Simon's right - the clips are a bit odd but from my own experience they do work (not sure why exactly) and it makes a good barrier against loose items in the load area.
Great summary! Do you know anything about the "Front Expedition Protection System"? It's not part of any of the packs and seems to be separate from the undershield.
Really looking forward to (and ready to buy!) the front grill/logo bar cover and rear step, and back door table! Camping question: I am wondering if you have any issues with a low battery warning while camping? Nothing to do with a secondary battery, but it seems I need to keep my key in a faraday box and turn off the car's interior lights to allow the car to go into a proper sleep. Otherwise it seems to search for a key continuously. I know your car doesn't have keyless entry, so maybe that's not an issue. Have you used the Activity Key while camping (maybe that's the secret)? But trying to figure out this puzzle. And was wondering if Powerful UK might have a solution?
When we camped at the Ineos even it got a bit funny when we left - no low battery warning but i think that could have been the reason the camera system was playing up. I think the Pivi Pro system wants to boot up when you open the doors so its ready to go sooner and this may be a problem for camping. We did not have any issues in Wales but I think we did have a low battery at the Gaydon Show - the car doors were being opened a lot as people were looking around the car etc ( which I am happy about - thats why i took the car to the show ) I think it would be good if you could put the car into a "camping mode" on the app - this could be over ruled when you drive the car. I will add it to the ideas list - incase Land Rover ever want any ideas !
@@L663 Super insightful! Thanks for commenting. I think you're right about the PiviPro system. I noticed as long as I keep the light off, leave doors open and hide the key from any RFID signal - all is good. I forgot about your warning at the INEOS preview - and I too have had the same error pop recently when I was loading the car for a camping trip (many trips back and forth, with many door opens!). I did charge up the battery overnight and have had no problems since as long as I am mindful of the door/lights/pivi system. So... to your point, a "Camping" mode on the app would be BRILLIANT - and solve a problem since the car in adverts is clearly positioning as a great camping vehicle. I'll bring this up on the LR Advisory Board too! (Maybe someone will add it to a list) Thanks, Simon.
Hi Simon - On the reverse lights - seems you say indicators too? Is that a new product? Additionally - looks like a different surround / mount for them - is that available - my stick on ones have come loose twice - even with 3M tape and cleaning... What happened to the extended checker plate bumper protector? Also the tap in loom for the OH console? THANKS
Hi Simon - we have indeed improved the design - I will work out a deal where existing customer can upgrade the housing for a minimal cost The extended rear bumper cover should be here very soon - delayed with shipping etc The tap in loom V2 is on my approval list ! Sorry for the delays on these.
Hi, I was wondering if you will be at the Overland Adventure Show later this month? Do you have any plans to develop rear ladder? Something like lucky8 offers?
At 9:57 you show the reverse light upgrades. Great additions! It appears to have a different trim. Is this a prototype or what you are currently adding? DEFINITELY looking forward to the tow-eye steps (10:24) coming to market.
Hi Simon, great VID. What ever happened to the power loom that you created for the front seat overhead console? I was hoping to power my dash cam with this power loom. Thanks
Helle Simon I have been watching for a long time. I have the same setup with the rooftop tent and extra Dometic Portable Battery installed. But still after 2 days of camping when you open the doors of the Defender each time the starting battery is draining out. Do you have a solution for this. I asked the dealer in Amsterdam but the don't want to install a master switch because they are afraid that the car is losing his basic settings. When you open the door all basic systems startup everytime and stay on for a couple of minutes. There is (so far I know) not a switch to put or to keep the car in sleeping mode. Now we start the engine every 2 days but that is not so friendly when you have neighbours at the campsite or are in the middle of the mountains. Hope you have the same problems and are looking for a solution. Pieter
You are 100% correct and we have the same problem. One idea I have passed to Land Rover is to have a "camping mode" on the app. The reason i think the car is configured this way is to ensure the electronics power up quicker but the cost is power consumption / battery life. I am trying to think how we could trick the car into behaving a different way. There may be a fuse we could disconnect - we could measure power consumption on all fuses and see which one is taking a lot of current - and then wire this to a remote switch / fuse for easy deactivation. I will add this to my list of videos to do...
@@L663 If we can start the car with the remote app then it should be possible to set the car in “camping mode”. Simon you have very good connections with Landrover and the NewDefender is the perfect car for Overlanding and remote camping. Go for it and let’s hope those factory guys listing to you 💪🏽
@@pjvdbrink I think if i do the video I have more chance of the engineers understanding the issue as often my contacts are more PR and not techical. Several JLR engineers watch my videos and contact me privately from time to time.
Do you have any idea when your black bonnet lettering will be back on sale? I spoke to somebody about it a week or so ago and they just said you had to temporarily remove it from sale just as I was about to buy it.
lets hope your new landrover stuff is better than your old landrover stuff everything i have purchased from your company has turned to sh-t seat bolsters down to the metal with less than 3000 miles use bonnet emblems laquer peeling off to state but a few things !
Hi Graham - sorry you have had problems with your seats and lettering. Please contact customer service and we will try and resolve these issues. I see you purchased the seats in 2017 and the lettering in 2018 but I cannot see any other purchases under your name. We do not get it right everytime but we always try and resolve issues with customers.
@@L663 already did as I bought my seats before my build was finished they said I was out of warranty but they had only been in a few thousand miles in my opinion they should of lasted longer than that before the metal tub of the lower seat side bolster started to pop out
Is the setting supposed to be in the countryside???? Why is a big ugly old English house right next to the campsite???? England is such a SMALL country that you can fit almost 4 of them inside CALIFORNIA..... Now, that's terribly SMALL..... No wonder England always tried to steal resources from other countries
We were camping before doing the Strata Florida ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-N8Ib67n5VRk.html We did do some stealing from many countries in the past and for that i apologise !
