Im a retired school bus driver from California. We would get out of bus to cross them with stop signs in hand. So many time I was ready to throw my stop sign at cars. Your lucky Mr. Lawyer and your constitution werent running my red lights. How dare any human being want to sue.
Cameras only help after the fact. They are a hindsight tool, they don’t really provide any safety benefit. What needs to happen, is the stop arm needs to be extended into the other lane of traffic by about 6 feet. That way it’s more visible. The lighting on school buses hasn’t changed with technology as the rest of the world around it has. There needs to be yellow and red flashing lights on the grill also, as well as a spot light so kids crossing can be light up in the dark early morning so drivers can see them. If all of that seems to not get a seriously distracted drivers attention, then the camera can issue a ticket, I also forgot to add that the 6 foot stop arm is designed to break away if some idiot driver hits it, and not only do they get the ticket, but they also get a bill to repair the stop arm.
Uh what’s the point on stop arm cameras? Cars that defy stopped school buses all have these tinted license plate covers to turn the tables on the school bus stop arm cameras. So when the camera takes a picture of the car’s license plate it comes back as nothing therefore you can’t fine them without license plate numbers.
Well of course he would think it's unconstitutional. Maybe if his kid (G-d forbid) gets hit by a fool passing a bus with it's red on, then all of a sudden the cameras are needed and constitutionally correct. Anything just to cause a problem!🤬🤨
