@@terabellum To be honest; you can use all three classes since you have three character slots, but know progress doesn’t carry over so you have to get them caught up or use a level skip.
“Ohh I missed something” yeah every time they said The Hive I guess 😂😂 Hive and Fallen are called different things because they’re different races, and every race fights with every race Fallen are named after pirates and stuff, Captains, Dregs, etc Hive are named after fantasy and magic, aka Wizards, Knights and Thralls And no, Fallen are not the Darkness, Hive work with the Darkness
While I was recording this series it took me WAY too long to realize the Hive and the Fallen are NOT the same thing, get ready for me to talk on that until at least the 3rd video hahaha.
When you saw the Present Day in the opening cutscene, it literally ment that. The beginning cutscene with the 3 astronauts happened in the year of 2014. Lol.
As for the main story, the year is contested but is generally accepted that it takes place around over 500 years after humanity found the Traveler in 2014.
Your question on how a "floating orb" can make man live 3 times as long as now is obvious. Technology was jump started massively. Genetic manipulation to increase lifespan, cure and eliminate genetic defects, illness and cancers, etc.
@DarthDragon007 Thanks for the info, that all checks out! I was more curious about the actual physical actions the traveler may have taken to improve the quality of life of the populace. Or if it was like a floating library with the knowledge for man to improve their quality of life themselves.
@@terabellum It's basically a giant floating library of knowledge and power (power being the Light). It can terraform entire worlds from lifeless husks into life sustaining planets. Humanity is far from the first species it helped uplift. The Fallen (Eliksni) were uplifted before us, the Hive were almost uplifted by it (the Darkness got to them first tho) and it uplifted countless other civilizations as well....those are all gone though. It's one of the closest things to an all powerful (non combat) God you can get. Not shocking given it helped create the friggen universe Destiny takes place in. 😂
1 - it's great to see new interest in Destiny, despite Bungie's "best efforts" to bury it in corporate bs. Welcome back, guardian ^^ 2 - yes, the music. Hope you eventually get to experience Deepstone Cript for a certain... sequence. Also: came here after watching the recent episode on Season of the Splicer and, dude... You should look up My Name is Byf video on an armor piece called Athrys's Embrace. It will make sense. Promise. 3 - Hope you have a great time :)
I know you said you have other videos and you may have already stumbled across them. But if you really want to dive into more minutiae, trivia, lore, and educated speculation, I recommend MyNameIsByf and Myelin Games. They are two of the largest lore nerds in the community.
@@terabellumi second byf if you haven't watched him already. He has some videos that are whole timelines of the destiny universe that will give a lot of insight into the setting
6 year veteran player here. Well, more closer to 7. A few things. Destiny music is one of the best parts of the game. Few will ever find fault in the game for that. A lot of questions won’t have definitive answers until The Final Shape expansion. Lot of controversy going on in Destiny right now so going to say this. Only play Destiny or Destiny 2 if you really want to. It’s not exactly in a good place. Hasn’t been in a while. A large sentiment is that some players will stop playing once the Final Shape is finished. All I can say is to enjoy the story if it really pleases you. Game takes place in our solar system. The Sol System. It’s post apocalyptic centuries from modern day. Could be longer. There is no definitive timeline of when it takes place, just estimated to be many centuries later if you want something close to a straight answer. Everyone and anyone is coming for us and the Traveler. Heavily trimmed synopsis over. 35:58 Yes. The Hunter subclass is called Gunslinger. We call new Guardians, New Lights or Blueberries. If you play long enough, you pick up on the nuances of Guardian culture. Picking up new loot, dancing at random places, throwing ourselves off the side of the Tower to kill ourselves whether by accident or on purpose. That kind of thing.
Thank you for the clarifications! I have 7 videos in this series recorded and edited. I did all of this before the news hit of Bungie's actions. I felt torn about supporting Destiny after all the news came out. After sitting on the videos for a while, I realized I couldn't stop thinking about the story in the back of my mind. Especially since I hit the first half of the Red War and I was obsessed. So at the very least, this series will be here to appreciate the past work of the team that brought it to life and to enjoy the story, and the lore. Beyond that, I'm still undecided how I'll proceed at current.
I love watching people watch the story of D1 and D2.... I love the lore and it's the game that kept me from going off the deep end. Not the best to play with people all the time but the story and music were fantastic. With Michael Salvatori not part of it after the Final Shape I will likely call it quits then since the music helped me so much. I hope you enjoy it though
All the Bungie news came out after I started recording this series, I almost scrapped the whole series but right now I have videos up to the first half of The Red War. I couldn't stop thinking about it and decided to post it after all, if only to appreciate the works of everyone who was let go. 😭
@terabellum I think that's why I'm still in for the Final Shape - knowing they were still a part of it. Really a big unknown for its future but I really did love everything till this point. I still hope other will too. I of course got into FFIV in the last year and a half and have played a lot less D2 but there is something about being just randomly shoved off of things by clan mates in D2 that always hits the laughs.
Comment no 2: You could write down your question and put them in the description/pinned Comment so ppl can answer (Also beneficial for the algorithm;-) )
Hiii! Took a pause from ff14 for a while and I hadn't seen your videos in a while! Are you playing Destiny or just watching the stories on youtube? Either answer is great! I play destiny, since d1's day 1 launch. It has my heart forever, similar to ff14 but for wildly different reasons ofc.
He played for a couple dozen hours to get a feel for the game. He got the lore of Shadowkeep in game. But otherwise, it's been videos on RU-vid. He obviously hasn't seen stuff like the lore books, and is missing a ton of little details. I'd like him to read stuff like Unveiling, see if it tickles his brain like it did mine. But he seems to mostly be here for the individual character developments. Which is also great.
The saddest news to learn when after I started recording this series. The music has been a major standout feature throughout my experience of this game so far...
