I’ve been after Spirited Away and Dante's Dream for the names alone (what’s widely considered the greatest animated film/artistic animated piece of all time and a Pre-Raphaelite art reference?! Iconic) but the shades are also my absolute favourites of the bunch.
Lisa's marketing skills are ON POINT and I got those two products based on their references. They're both stunning colours on their own right though. 👌
This launch surprised me! When I first heard about it, I wasn’t sure I needed more blush of highlighter but this is some of the loveliest blush shades I’ve ever used. I have pink soap (for everyday) and mountain walk (when I need something with more of a punch). Painterly is straight up my favorite lipstick. It kind of feels like a light and sheer version of velvet blush (which had been my go to).
So glad you're enjoying the blush shades Bethany! Painterly is a lot deeper and more chocolatey than the rich rosy berry of Velvet Blush on me. Both are beautiful! 😍💄 x

The customer support team is great! Im glad I am not the only one who had trouble with the blush. I got Venetian Red and its gorgeous. However it seems to have dried up and I have to squeeze very hard to get the tiniest bit out of the tube. The customer service team was super kind though and refunded me.

Same. I bought three of her first lipsticks, I love them! There isn't anything remotely similar out there, texture snd color payoff wise. But customs caught my package and damn they got a payday with me 😢

I love Lisa’s new release, this was my first experience with cream blush and pink soap is perfect! Doesn’t disturb any bottom layers of makeup and isn’t oily or sticky, just a wash of colour. I do wish Lisa would make more cool shades though😭 Even Love of my life is a bit too warm for me, so I don’t know if I should get velvet beauty, beauty doesnt seem to be that cool as well. But she did make the Delilah gloss this time round, perfect for finishing off a cool pink lip look!
that pink soap blush is calling my name! there’s so many cream blushes on the market now which is great but a lot of them tend to blend together. these seem really unique!
Lovely review, Matilda! ❤️ Painterly is my new favourite lipstick. I have similar difficulties with the blushes (especially Island Glow) but they’re not deal breakers. Also loving the Kitten Mischief gloss and Solar Light highlighter (I love that it has no glitter).

I've been waiting for this video! Your swatches and descriptions are very helpful for making decision. At first, I was very drawn to Rose Official and Painterly because I love rosy-rosewood colors, and they compliment my complexion. But since I already have a lot of lipsticks in that range, I thought of getting Kitten Mischief this time to slightly step outside my comfort zone. HOWEVER, seeing your swatches here shook my determination! Those colors are sins! I don't know anymore! 🤣

Thank you! Working the blush up from the bottom is less of a squeezing motion and more of a very gentle push, while hanging onto the seal. Like how we move toothpaste up from the bottom of a tube, but a much softer movement in this case! 😄👍 x

My blush in Mountain Walk is on the verge of bursting! I am not sure what has gone wrong but the formula is so stiff I can’t get it out. And the small amount I do get not blending very well too thick. It’s very disappointing as I love her products. I think I will contact her team and see what suggestions they have. The other blushes in Pink Soap and Dante’s Dream no issues. I am loving painterly and dance card. I want Atomic cherry next time round. I got Crystal Nebula and it’s a bit too gold on my skin but I wear it anyway.
Lisa Eldridge has such an eye for colours and undertones. Painterly has been my go-to lip shade, it’s just pigmented enough to liven up my face without being too much. I’m waiting for my of Rose Official and Crystal Nebula to arrive. I’m also keeping my eyes out for when she restocks the blushes, as I couldn’t get them.
If you're very pale and cool toned and looking for a nude/mlbb with just a tinge of depth that doesn't come off too ashy or terracotta, Painterly is perfect for you.
You've said you don't like foundation because you like your skin to feel like skin. Can I ask if you naturally have clear skin and that's why you don't see a need to use heavy products, or do you generally like the feel of a natural look regardless of whether you have visible blemishes many people would usually layer foundation on?
My blush hardened too. I just recieved it this way. I have pink poetry. I love the blush and the color but it is very hard to put on because of how pasty it is.

While I didn’t have to get up in the middle of the night to order, you’d better believe that I set my alarm! I purchased Dante’s Dream blush (your blush alliteration was impressive! 🤗), Spirited Away (be still, my heart! 💓), and Songbird gloss (a little light for me, but really love the formula - maybe I should try Muse?).
I want painterly so bad! I’m on a low buy right now so I’m technically not able to. BUT I WANT IT!!! Also would you say the highlighter is similar to something like the Charlotte tilbury Hollywood flawless filter? Or more subtle? Loved the video!

It's also specifically designed to be a highlighter in only four shades, rather than a skin tone match like Flawless Filter ✨ x
I've never gotten the chance to try any Lisa Eldridge products (not readily available for purchase locally & I want to avoid massive int'l shipping costs as much as possible 😭). But wow, those glosses are so lovely & so pigmented!
Unfortunately Lisa doesn't have any stockists, just her own website, but her shipping is actually quite reasonable compared to other brands! If you purchase a few items, express shipping is even free 😄👍 x

I want to see a very dark skinned lady do this style of video with makeup. Firstly, I want to be proven wrong that Matilda is successful with this style because of her skin color. Secondly, so many dark skinned people would be helped seeing makeup on dark skin and most of these makeup products would not work on dark skin and thus save money.

I don’t find at all good that a pricey product has problems with its packaging. That’s my personal opinion. Btw she is a very professional person and I’m pretty sure she will solve the problem.

I've had ongoing issues with the tubes also. I've had one burst out the back and another one the nozzle actually popped off with product seeping out around it 😖 I'm trying to be super careful with the rest. Also doing what you're doing and holding the end of it before squeezing it out cause I've also seen the product moving into the crimped part of the plastic. I also want to mention, I reached out to Lisa's team about the burst tube and they refunded me the money. They were super prompt and helpful!
The consistency of the blush is really stiff, mine broke at the bottom too. But the team sent me a new one immediately. Good customer service! But in the future they should change the packaging.

I missed out on Velvet Affair and I was so sad! I'm going to be hovering over my keyboard in September to nab it as quickly as I can! I have three of her lipsticks (two mattes and one sheer) and I love them MADLY.
Her products are just perfection! I’m not normally a gloss person but hers is incredible, like the best lip mask. When I put it on at night, it looks like I had fillers in the morning
So glad you love the glosses too Maggie! You're much braver than me wearing them overnight though - as much as I love the colours, I wouldn't want them all over my pillow 😂 Hope we might get a clear version one day! x
Luckily I find they last for a few more hours on me, but that's fairly common for cream products anyway! Powder blushes will always last a lot longer than creams that eventually sink into the skin 👍 x
I also had the issue with stiffness on my pink poetry tube. I thought I got a bad one but it’s fine, not that much trouble to squeeze it out. You only need a tiny little bit anyway
