The Lishi factory keeps turning out new awesome designs and this is one that we're proud to be importing and stocking for you. 👍 Am I doing the cringe clickbait RU-vidr thing by not revealing what the tool is in the title? (Keen viewers will likely be able to spot what it is if they looked closely at that thumbnail image, though, i bet!)
I'm giving this one away along with one of the locks from my collection so that the winner can try it out... so signs up for give-aways if you want a chance to take this home!
Happy New Year to all and I hope 2023 is a good one for all of us. 👍😊👍

Thanks Dev! Great video, warts and all. I was watching this morning and vaguely contemplating getting one right up until you offered to send the lock to the winner of the Lishi - then the blending flash of the obvious - I've never encountered one in the wild. So I'll stick with more practical things like fuel rods - which work wonderfully. Why no one came out with any thing like it before is amazing. Keep up the good work and good luck with the eyes.

What about the thickness? I wonder if Lishi will do a top level like the SC20 Lishi. I was surprised my KW5 did not fit the Weiser keyway due to thickness. I know there are other problems using KW in Weiser with Weiser having more depths, but it was worth a try.

@@DeviantOllam All of my heroes are people who give information out for others for free simply for the joy of sharing knowledge and who don't like to advertise or push products and instead let quality speak for itself. For the world of HFC there's Brady Volpe who gives hours long lectures on RF. In electronic repair you have Louis Rossman who created a wiki on repairing electronics and tons of videos demonstrating how anyone can do it as well as fighting for our right to repair. When it comes to locks you have Bill, LPL, and you amongst others. I have a lot of respect for people like this even if it means it takes me longer to find out about their products it also means I can trust their integrity when they recommend something. They don't sell you products they teach you about the thing you use the product for and once you understand you naturally want to find out what they are using and/or use their services/products because you understand the quality and attention to detail now that you've learned more about the subject. So yeah, thanks for not plugging it if nothing else it at least keeps more inventory for the rest of us 😂

First off, glad to hear the eyes are on the mend even if it's slow goin. Secondly, plug the shop man. The prices are good and I'd rather do business with someone with your ethics and business model than a lot of other companies... Hell, these days there's fewer and fewer companies that sell good locksmith tools, even companies that used to be major locksmith suppliers. US Lock got bought out by Home Depot, so they're done, HL Flake (now "Banner Solutions") still sells IF their site is working that day (I think they're on their fourth website in two years) honestly if you were to expand the shop to a full supply wholesaler for tooling and hardware, you'd have my business immediately.

@chasingcapsaicin
@chasingcapsaicin Год назад
More why did they cut out the material leaving it a hump
@bstrickler
@bstrickler Год назад
@@chasingcapsaicin the material that's cut out is what lifts the check pin/finger to the right height. The only reason I can think of the hump being left there is to "excercise" the pin, so it doesn't get stuck in the "unlocked" position over time (thus defeating the whole purpose of the check pin)
@chasingcapsaicin
@chasingcapsaicin Год назад
@@bstrickler I am speaking for the pick having the material unnecessarily removed, also are you familiar with the IC versions of this system. I am curious how difficult it is to decode (after) rotation as it would be possible to keep a running card prior to. Would make it easier to make a control key for said system as unlike almost every other IC system there is no difference in the cut depth for the locking pins for a control key.
@DeviantOllam
@DeviantOllam Год назад
Yeah, if you're referring to what I have named the little "shark fin" at the tip that is, indeed, a curiosity. And THAT is what prevented me from being able to extract the tool. The lifting of the check pin had nothing to do with being stuck in the lock.
