since there are character spoilers here i can't watch I'll just say I'm having a blast with daybreak, i haven't seen the rest of the cast yet, but van and agnes dynamic is just so good, i missed good character dynamics like this, and the fact that the early game is just them reminds me so much of fc, it has so much soul, it's so good it's almost sureal
I was honestly shocked at how much I ended up liking Agnes out of the gate, enjoy meeting the rest of the cast (and all the shenanigans that will ensue :p) Daybreak is a build up game, but it's much faster paced than most other build up games. I mean, you've seen as much already in the prologue xD hope you keep enjoying the experience! Looking forward to all the posts in Discord 👀
So yeah… I was going to wait until tomorrow to write this comment, but I’ve just looked again at how far behind I am when it comes to your videos and man… That’s a lot more than I remembered. Haha... So yeah, time for the run-back (don’t expect these to happen too often, though): → When it comes to the new outfits, everyone with one exception is either better off or at least on the same level as their old outfits, so that’s a plus for me. The only one I kinda dislike is Judith… Now, don’t get me wrong. The new clothes are very sexy and I won’t say no to that, but something about that outfit as a whole just doesn’t really work for me. → Anchorville hype, baby! So… I’ve made no secret at this point I’m a bit of a map autist and love seeing these places Falcom shows in maps visually represented, especially since I feel Falcom punches very much above their weight when it comes to environment presentation, backgrounds and the like. It’s why I get a bit sad when the series moves on from one country to the next and we don’t get to see a big number of locations shown on the map (I could easily name like 10+ locations in Erebonia alone I really wish we’d visited. Calvard will probably end up the same way. I’m gonna be a bit disappointed when we don’t even end up revisiting Altair by the end of the Calvard arc), even if I do understand why Falcom doesn’t bother with visually representing all these minor background locations. Anchorville, believe it or not, is one of the few towns in Calvard we knew something about before Kuro happened. Besides Altair, which we actually saw in Azure, Anchorville was also mentioned and served as the main setting of the book “Sunshine Agnes”. Honestly, for the most part, the screenshots and the description do seem to be in line with how it’s portrayed in the books. The only things that’s a bit weird is that the book describes Anchorville has being located in a somewhat hilly region, but you don’t really see that in the screenshots (it’s probably just not the right camera angle, but curious nonetheless). → I also noticed one of the gameplay screenshots were the party seem to be in a field (battle area) outside of Edith and that’s great. I’ve already mentioned in a prior commented how I didn’t really like how “boxed in” Daybreak felt when compared to other games, so I’m glad they’re adding more outdoor areas in Kai (Like, I get that Calvard’s probably the most urbanized country on the Zemurian continent, but spending like 85+% of the game inside cities and in subterranean dungeons is a bit much even for me). And that’s most of what I wanted to say for this particular bit of news. Not a lot, obviously, but what’s there is good stuff. Also, great selection with the Kuro 1 & 2 OST choices for this video, btw. They work really well with the places they’re played in.
LOL, yeah, they had quite a few livestreams for Kai, plus I recently kicked it into high gear so I could finally finish the Sky FC Evo series before the year was up xD good luck getting through all of that 😅 I get that perspective; it does feel a bit "much" compared to her other outfits Man, I need to read all the books again at this point because I don't remember Anchorville being mentioned at all xD I remember looking at the Erebonian map and being disappointed we didn't even see half of the country. Not to mention the lack of Jurai and North Ambria. Visiting Altair again would be cool. Having more exterior areas to run around in will definitely be a lot of fun. thanks for taking the time to write these up! Ha, appreciate that! Yeah, I just recently was made aware of it's existence! It's not bad for free software. Probably harvests my data like organs and sells it in a back alley somewhere but if it means I get a rough idea of this piece of Japanese media that'll likely not be localized for at least 3 years then I'll accept those terms! xD True, what's with Falcom giving the red-haired characters such unbridled rizz? I love it when everyone gets new outfits, always a fun time.
This game is so damn hype. I sadly can not play it yet even if it came out soon in the west. But I am having fun with Azure. Or at least I would have fun if I wasn't getting sick all the time. Screw you stomach pain! But hey, I am very excited to play daybreak when I get there but also more excited for Reverie actually. Those epilogue games man. Even if we just had 2 of them. Sky the 3rd was my favorite Sky game and I loved having all of those characters playable. Especially that previous final boss. I wish he would also return in a later game. I just wish Loewe could have been playable at one point. I am very excited to have that one other boss enemy be playable in the later games. It is going to be so hype. Can't wait to play Reverie and Daybreak. Once I get there. I also still need to play Ys 7. I hope I have fun with that game. Don't worry, I can handle jank. Ys 6 just had awful sound design and music. For me, because my ears were bleeding from that opening song. The rest of the game was great. At least the bit I played. I just wish the music wasn't so terrible on my ears.
