I've got the same one. Only used it for fence and summerhouse painting and works perfectly. Definitely going to use it on the masonry soon so will give it the jug test on 2to1 with sandtex smooth and see what happens..
Bought the newer version..great piece of kit..just a pity the paint pot only holds as much as it does.would be nice if you could buy a bigger pot to go on it.
Exactly the video I was looking for! Thanks for putting this out there. Just wondering how many coats did you need to cover the roughcast? Does watering down the paint adversely affect the weather proofing of the paint? Cheers
Hey Mark, it took 2 passes to fully coat it but it did have old paint already on the roughcast so makes it easier to cover. If it doesn't it would need another coat or two. Can't say how much it would effect it unfortunately but I'm guessing with enough coats to not look patchy it would be fine. Hope this helps Andy
Hi! I stay in Glasgow in an old tenament flat... the inside of our communal area is all flakey. I'm lookin to paint it myself... it's going to be a huge project but I was wondering if you have any advice? My steps are: Scrap the paint off and sand, use external polyfiller to fill any caps/cracks and then use dulux weathersheild.
Hey Gary, thanks for the questions but I think you've probably already got the best plan. Scrape all of the loose paint off first, although try to remember to do it as gently as you can as you can easily scrape good paint off these walls and give yourself a bigger headache when it comes to filling. If the walls are flat I would also perhaps suggest using a standard roller with non watered down paint first and see how you get on. Sometimes that can be the more efficient way to get good coverage. We tend to only use the sprayer on rough cast as it gets behind the stones a bit easier. Hope this helps and good luck! If you have any more questions please feel free to get in touch again 👍
Sorry to tell you but you would be much better off with a airless sprayer for that rather than HVLP. The Finish looks patchy too. I guess that was the first coat? Even a roller on a extension pole would be faster than that machine and look more solid than that, no need for scaffolding and much better results. This is not a professional paint job and more a 'that will do' approach, but fine if you have low expectations and on a budget, Otherwise leave it to the professionals.
Did you mask up the windows. Also I tried to use this sprayer to do a fence but the wind was taking the paint all over th place. How would you tackle over spray? Many thanks

Ive come to paint the front of my house.only a small bit of paint was coming out.it was as if something was blocked.took it apart and cleaned it but still no paint coming out.have you any ideas?
Did you use the sprayer before this attempt? I've also seen a small bit of grit or dry paint get stuck behind the brass nozzle. How far down have you stripped it to clean?
It really depends on how thick it is. If you're talking about a fence creosote type paint then it should be fine but we do have to thin most of our paints down to get it to flow correctly. Basically anything thicker than the sauce in Heinz beans I would probably say no 😉
