New MagnaFlow Overland Series Exhaust Install on a Toyota 4Runner 

I don’t know what kinda rig you have but I can tell you that for the first 2 years or so my TRD exhaust on my 97 runner was the best sounding exhaust I have ever had. I loved the throaty sound it was the best. Now the bad news. I don’t know where u are. Here in the rust belt your TRD will rust out in short order. I have had 2 of them. Toyota was nice enough to honor their warranty the 2nd time and gave me a new exhaust after the first one rotted out. Some time after. This one did likewise I went back again. They no longer make the TRD for my vintage truck. So now I am in the market for a new system. What did you end up going with?

The trd has no sound at all, Tacoma’s are kinda quiet

@@tknighttt I would say you won't notice much of an improvement unless you install a y-pipe at the same time to remove two cats. I was shopping for side exit exhaust and the Toyota pro was just awful drone so I gave this one a shot.

How are fumes with the back window down?

The tucked away exhaust tip and mellow, drone-free tone.

@@toyotajr I already have the answer for myself yes it would be this easy if they made a kit for the 4th gen. Ive owned 2 4th gens both amazing vehicles.

@@marcr1333 I will admit I was being very negative. It still think it sounds like a factory upgrade rather than after market but, you're right, it's a V6 so I'll cut it some slack. It still remains though, they are touting a barebones system as having features. For instance, an absent exhaust tip is not a feature its just a benefit for ground clearance at the grocery store and.... speed bumps? Honestly, 4runners aren't crawling like that these days. (Maybe I wasn't being negative after all, just realistic)

@@kingrhun It’s a bit louder then the TRD exhaust. But we have to think, this exhaust has to fit a somewhat wide range of people who want something quiet or something loud. So gotta meet in the middle. A lot of Magnaflow systems have some insane drone, this one doesn’t. Also, it is a part of their overland kits. Which is made for overland builds… typically people who do a lot of rock crawling and have insane builds on their Toyotas. If we really wanted to make the Tacoma or 4Runner sound amazing and it’s full full potential, you’d have to just do a complete build out with Magnaflow (or any other companies) exhaust options. I may be a little biased because I know a lot of the Magnaflow employees, since their based in Oceanside, Ca. But even I can tell you, that no drone technology of theirs is a huge improvement. And in regards to their speed bump comments, they knew who this system is actually for (overlanders) but you gotta advertise to everyone. Gotta make a profit and be able to go back and research more goodies.

@@marcr1333 Fair enough, I will say that no-drone portion of the drive was amazing. Are you sure that the market they are trying to reach are the crawlers with this setup?

@@kingrhun That’s WHO it’s made for. But we all know that’s not enough to cover the cost of R&D. But I’ve been in Texas for our stores here and I’m actually driving to San Diego to have Magnaflow do a full system. So I’ll definitely ask.

Because my tailpipe is already bent from the trails and I need an exhaust that tucks in.

Pieces of junk? They sell over 100,000 a year, 4Runners are in the top 5 best resale value, they're one of the most durable and reliable trucks sold to date and some how you're calling them junk? You can't drive a couple of miles anywhere in the USA without seeing a Toyota 4Runner.
