No u can definitely tell a difference if u didn’t know the va changed. It’s immediately noticeable especially to people who have been playing these games for 10+ years
Sadly it's only 1 gibberish dialogue each. But I guess this would do. Edit: I just noticed this. I'm glad they're speaking more instances of gibberish instead of just one dialogue.
I love that they are following in Paper Mario TTYD Remake's footsteps with having voice beeps that actually fit the characters but they stylized it in a way that still sound distinct to Mario and Luigi.
Even basic moves such as Jump and Hammer are now feel like mini Bros Move which is really good to see. My only nitpick is the loading time before battle, it loads a wee bit longer than I anticipated.
gotta say, i actually love almost all of the music we have heard so far. but.... idk man the boss theme just sounds like an average normal boss theme and not the bombastic goofy mario and luigi boss battle themes we have had before.
They should just remix never let up(or a classic mixup where certain bosses and enemies and bosses have tracks of different M&L games dending on their aesthetic or personality )
I love how when Mario does his hammer attack, Luigi does the hammer uppercut to send Mario into the air, and when Luigi uses his hammer attack, he uses the hammer chop instead, that’s a lovely callback from his experience in Dream Team that I really love and appreciate.
@@hiccupasterisk Yeah even the battles seem to drag on for a bit. What made BiS on the DS so great was how quick and seamless the battles were. Dream Team sadly decided to make the battles drag on and on to the point where you had boss attacks that took like 5 minutes to complete.
This game looks so polished and lively! They were able to recreate the Mario and Luigi Box art into the in-game designs very well. I'm so excited we are getting more Mario and Luigi RPG games again. Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga is my favorite Mario game.
It kinda sounds like a theme for Extension Corps related enemies... even though they aren't actually there and just seemed to have siced Gobblick on the Bros.
@dampflokfreund That's an understandable opinion but I find the festive and jazzy instrumentation to be absolutely pleasant to listen to. I actually hold it above most of the others (Bowser's Inside Story included.) thus far.
@@dampflokfreund Damn look at this dude, just the absolute light of the party. Ever heard of opinions? Think what you want, but don’t tell others how to feel.
@@lunaticwyrm4675 there seem to be a lot of returning ennemies based on this. Doesn't even make any sens like why are there haunted trees from the mushroom kingdom and those pineapple ennemies from dream team
@uuytk I've been wondering why enemies exclusive to the dream world would show up here. Maybe Luigi's seen them before? Like in a commercial for Concordia or something? Other than that I can't think of why they'd be in the real world.
something about it looks a little off, like it's missing that Mario polish.. but I think it's just the art direction. Some depth of field and a more dynamic camera would go a long way.
Oof, there’s a thing they missed with the 1Up mushroom animation In the old games, when reviving a bro, they do a little charming animation of “Yeah! The bros are back!” Giving each other a thumbs up or like a fist pump together, like they’re back at max possible strength
the game looks pretty janky ngl, felt like this is their first time doing full 3d game for switch, but it still looks very cool and expressive which i'm glad that is atleast been preserved there are other things i want to talk about; 1. Luigi Logic is so much better mechanic than the one on Dream Team. goodlord i hate how slow that gimmick is especially for battle 2. the pacing of the battle is bit slower for my taste (their bros attack has longer starting animation), but it's definitely on par with older titles which is what i like 3. basic attack has been expanded to use more than 1 button which i did not expect but very welcome change. it makes you prone more to mistake lol 4. when either fainted, other will pick him up, which i forgot which one did not have that mechanic, but im glad they kept that, and it's ofcourse not as annoying as Superstar Saga 5. i feel like the game is punishing you for not be able to hit their head on right time (they had guard if you did not hit the weakness), which is great too. it only makes the battle bit longer 6. it has seemingly one time Luigi Logic attack that stun bosses for awhile, and the QTE prompt is simple enough not to be disruptive and informative. again, much preferable thing than Dream Team 7. Luigi is in much better position now that he is helping Mario more than any of other M&L entries even Dream Team. i think he has been portrayed to be smarter but still clumsy at times, which i'm not sure is good idea or not but i'm all for it. Luigi Logic mechanic definitely a highlight of his character change. it's not even powered by some kind of magic, it's just him in his beeg brain mode
I’ve seen some footage somewhere of Mario doing a hammer attack by himself, so it’s either an option or you only do single attacks if one bro has a status effect
In the video you can see at 12:28 you can see Luigi doing a jump attack by himself, so as the other reply said if one bro is knocked out or can't attack the other will do single versions of their attack
I dont know if it is because the main theme is “brothership” but it seems the regular attacks are basically bro attacks all the time. I dont feel too invested in that mechanic making useless the “bro attacks” if all the attacks are bro :v and seems tedious but overall I think its okay 👌
The only thing I dislike (which isnt a game breaker) is Luigi seems more like a tool than a character. Havent once seen Luigi and Mario swap places while running around on the over world
I'm getting worried about the fact of some foes being way too slow to attack. And the boss fight music doesn't sound as great as the common battle theme :( I hope these are not final features.
@@fernandolemus5965 I mean Superstar Saga did not show anything about the secret multiplayer mode you can do on there so It's possible its also a hidden feature here too
Honestly, I’m not a fan of how stagnant they made Mario in this entry, yet again, he gets nothing special to pair up with Luigi’s in-game shticks. Otherwise, games looking GREAT so far.
Nah I think the music is still good, it fits for Mario, it’s always had that band jazzy style. My problem is the battle theme might be a smitch short for what is the song you’ll hear through the whooooooole game.
@reydesonic yeah the music is far from bad and I'm probably saying this because it's new but things like the battle theme just don't hit as hard as they did in the past games
She's probably not composing this. A shame but it is what it is... She's probably there somewhere as a supporting composer tho On the other hand though the new music still sounds really solid to me. Not Shimomura style but definitely feels like Mario and Luigi. The forest theme I might need another listen though
The gorilla dude seems to be either the first boss or an extremely early boss, the forgiving timing is just to help newer players understand how it works, cut him some slack
Ugh this battle system looks so painfully slow, why does it need to take longer to do normal jump and hammer attacks? Why do the enemies attack so slow?? I really hope this game isnt a total slog
Too bad Mario characters are fictional now especially since I'm the only one who's no longer a fan of Mario...Otherwise, what's the point of playing a game whether you're a fan or not?
If this is supposed to get ppl hyped, I don't get it. The gameplay looks so repetitive and slow. 😅 Sure it's cute and the animations are well done, but to chip away damage on bosses with the same thing over and over.... For how many hours??
I feel like the game is gonna end up kinda mid. You have to use both bro's action command with their normal jump/hammer, so the bros attacks feel less special. The new ennemies look a bit bland, especially compared to returning ennemies. Having to reuse ennemies from precedent games that much also screams "lack of creativity". The UI has that sanitized look that every Nintendo game is poisoned with these day, when even sticker star had wackier UI, you know there's no fun allowed in the menus. Apparently, previous characters like Starlow and Broque Monsieur are still there, as if they didn't already parasite the two last entries. Also the loading screens are bad, like seriously who thought "yeah, two coloured diagonal stripes for 3 seconds is good enough" when every previous game had an animation to disguise a load time. All in all, it seems like Nintendo is doing the bare minimum in terms of change and innovations. But at least it's still better than no change at all I guess. I hope that these trailers are only showing a fraction of the full game, and that once the release day comes, everything I've said will be wrong
