This cam footage is from Racom,.The main headquarters that provides almost all radio communications for our town and some neighboring states. The building took a direct hit of 144 mph winds. Despite that, all police, fire and other emergency radio services went completely uninterrupted. I lived through this also as my company took a direct hit. Hats off to all the emergency personnel and the radio service provider Racom.
The day of the incident had affected Marshalltown a lot. I actually live in Marshalltown since 2011, and was hit by one of the twins that struck Marshall.. the very twin that took out almost all of Lennox
@@robertanderson2898 hell yea better than me I be running for basement lol. Even tho I never be in that situation we don't get these in jersey if we do the bad ones stay in south jersey lol
Looks like EF-2 most of the time, it may have collapsed 3 walls on a well built home somewhere and that is all it takes to get ef-3 and this can easily be done by a falling tree. The damage you see at 0:52 onward is typical of F1 to F-2 , the trees are snapped and twisted with leaves still on them and if it was a solid F-3 or F4 the trees would begin to debark instead of twist and snap. It's like if you shoot an empty soda can with a slow .22 it will usually pop up in the air like someone kicked it. But if you shoot it with a more powerfull .223 the bullet is so fast it might go straight through an empty tin can and not even move the can. This is why powerful tornadoes surely throw telephone poles and large trees but a lot of them are still standing with no bark and no leaves, but little twisters usually descend upon the trees and take hold with all the leaves etc... still on it acting like a grip or parachute to yank it around uproot it twist it.
Ef3 Jesus it was rated at 143 mph. The Pella one was ef3 w 144 mph bondurant ef2. And it doesn't matter if 80% of damage is ef1 if the tornado stays down and has a block of EF3 then its a 3. Max winds. Plus ef3 with 140 mph winds moving east at 30 mph the south side of the tornado is gonna be where the ef3 damage is. The north side 140mph winds in funnel but most east at 30 means the damage is 110 mph Ef1 damage. It all depends on track and speed where is if 1 farmhouse gets ef3 damage and 4 outta 5 on the north side of it have minor ef1 damage the tornado is still an ef3. Plus multiple meteorologists, rate the tornado. They all individually rate what they think the worst damage is. And they take the highest and lowest and get a mean so if a tornados an ef3 then most likely n.w. s. Surveyers rated it at an ef2 low end. And the high end some rated it an ef4. So the mean is 3 and windspeeds determined by structures and radar estimates. All in all they know a lot more than you do so ef3 143mph was marshalltowns rating. Now shut up please
