Funny because I wish that a 2.5L Skyactiv X was available here in the states so that I can get a good balance of power and fuel consumption lol When I drive my brother's 2.5 Turbo hatch, I get around 14 MPG (however much that is in l/km) which is very low
4:22 The lurch from shifting into D is from your Parking Pawl snapping off the stress of being on a hill. To completely get rid of the the stress on the pawl, just use the parking brake. All automatic cars should be using them, but people are misinformed and don't. Make it a habit of engaging the parking brake before letting off the foot brake, that way the transmission won't have to take that force when you shift into gear. It'll be smooth as glass, even on a hill.
@@Shaco. No, when you go to park, keep your foot on the brake, shift to P, then enable the parking brake, then let go. When moving off, you can either disengage the parking brake before or after shifting or R or D. It doesn't matter much. Most new cars will automatically disengage the brake when you apply gas.
I have been a first time owner of a Mazda 6 since 5 years ago - I have fallen in love with the brand, the reliability, the design, fuel economy, etc etc. And i would replace my car with either the new 3 or CX-30 to which i am also seriously attracted :-D
"Very slow for 186hp".... It's not a performance car and the engine is reliable and plenty for daily driving and driving on the German autobahn. Most of you here talking about it being slow don't even own a car. 😂
Not only that, the engine is comically efficient since the Skyactiv-X engine works a bit like a diesel: combining direct injection with compression ignition.

@@Daumexif gearing would be made a bit shorter this would be much faster and it wouldn't affect consumption that much of at all
@@Fluffy_Owl352 Aż rzuciłem okiem w necie czy to możliwe by z "starej generacji' silników czyli skyactiv-g 120KM zrobić takie przyrosty...
This car is better with a manual transmission. I have a Mazda 3- 2022 with the same engine and it is a gem. I like to drive!! Ah… I am 64 years old. Anyway, nice car with automatical transmision.👍
This car does 0-200 in around 37 seconds similar to a bmw 320i with 186 hp. This car has longer first and second gears so to get a better launch you would need to dump the clutch at around 4000 and something revs that's why this car seems slow. It has better acceleration over 100 kmh.
I dont undertand why all of them say its slow, every opponent (audi a3 , ford focus etc) have around 200-240 torque and 150hp with 0-100 more than 9s. This car is heavy and almost NA(has a small supercharger at low and mid rpm) and still the manual version has 8.0seconds 0-100 which is pretty damn fast for European standars
I have driven its bigger brother cx30 with skyactiv X and it pulls really good from low rpm you almost forget its NA (still the supercharger offers some power)
@@a.kss2843 it's like everyone is a race driver 😄 For me it's important that the car has enough acceleration to overtake other cars safely and this car has plenty of it!
Hello and congratulations on your videos "Something I like about your channel is the continuous flow and variety in new and used cars. I'd like to ask you something regarding the ergonomics of this particular hatchback. What is your height and did you find this car comfortable? I am 1.92m tall and I'm seriously considering such a car. Unfortunately, I usually don't fit in hatchbacks, although I love them, as well as sedans. I'm one of those who are really bothered and concerned about this shift in the market towards SUVs and crossovers. There are no longer driver-centric cars. Of course, I'll also look at the 6. But I really like the 3, even the sedan version. That's it, thank you for your time!"
I doubt Joe is gonna respond to your comment, but I think I could help you out at least a tiny bit. I have a friend who is around your height and has one of these, with the only exception of it being a sedan. He finds it hard to enter the car (of course), but compared to the last generation (which he also has), he finds it more comfortable, but I'm not sure if he said it's a drastic difference or a minimal difference. Hope I helped!
I had the CX-30 with this engine which was pretty good but I have always wanted the turbo version that’s available elsewhere other than the U.K. and the a 2.5L is also not available where as other manufacturers have 2.5L variants and turbo’s available in the U.K. very irritating.
..Buddy....I would not do that with a automatic transmission shift to p on down hill with no parking brakes on,that loud noise when you shifted back in D did not sound great. Love ur videos btw :)
6-speed torque converter automatic transmission degrades performance little bit. 6-manual transmission is faster, more fuel efficient. The Skyactiv X 2.0liter 180-186hp are maximum fuel economy engines, not built for racing. Im not sure whether this updated Skyactiv X 2.0l 186hp does have same program like older Skyactiv x 2.0l 180hp did have by limiting maximum performance output for the cars first 8500km "break in drive". I dont know is this Mazda 3 programming, but some 2021+ Mazdas automatic transmissions are programmed to avoid gearshifts when you are speeding through corners. CX-60, CX-80(new), CX-90 have new 8-speed automatic transmission.
Who designs such narrow parking lot paths?, A Mazda 2 can barely fit that, It should be labled as parking for "mini cars", So dumb and risky. Nice video!
thas no nagisa, nagisa has terracotta artificial leather seats with black artificial suede seat, terracotta stitching on the dashboard & door panels and a gunmetal finish
Kolega prawie przesiadl sie na taka z Volvo V40. Auto trzyletnie i juz mialo slady korozji, lakier wisniowy tak cienki ze mozna go ostrym paznokciem sciagac. Odrzucil i wybral V90 po lifcie
Różowy zegarek i jazda bez pomyslunku to typowe do mieszczuchow niestety...
I mean... I considered Mazda 3 a while ago, when I was looking for a new vehicle. Like in a typical hatchback - you can feel all the bumps on the road. In addition, apart from the front seats, there is very little space in this car. Let's add to this very thin paint and poor anti-corrosion protection or simply no protection. Even a 6-year warranty does not save the situation.
@@steo923 like every vehicle, it has pros and cons. In my case Arkana won the competition thanks to general comfort, enormous trunk, more friendly infotainment system and perfect speakers. Happy for you that you enjoy your Mazda! :)
