Any car fanatic will understand which AMG models are a cut above the rest of the Mercedes family. Who knows, without strong sales perhaps the F1 team wouldn't be as strong as they are now: more money affords better technology and drivers.

So this new CLA looks the exact size as my previous W204 C class and is priced about the same as that was... I thought that car was perfectly designed and I loved the size of it inside and out for myself... I think this one is also gorgeous inside and out and will probably be what I get next but I just wish it wasn't fwd.

Launched in 2013, the CLA-Class preceded the A-Class as Mercedes’ entry-level model in the U.S. market, with a starting price of under $30,000 at launch. Sales have declined since the peak of 29,643 units in 2015 to 22,556 last year. I can think of one car that's been taking away their business. And it doesn't use gas.

The model range increase is to keep sales of gasoline cars from dropping down cos electric cars which even though they have is still in their benefit as they are not that strong in electric.

Agreed, I vastly prefer the new A35 Sedan taillights. Actually, I think I just in general prefer the A35 sedan exterior compared to this CLA 35. I see absolutely no reason to pay extra for this one.

@@a.3160 Is it really? CLA has 36 cm less headroom in the rear but 40 liters more room in the boot. Headroom in front, elbow room and shoulder room are all pretty much identical. Where I live I'd pay 12,000 euro extra for 40 liter more boot and less room for friends. Seems like a pretty bad deal. I realize it is not such a pice gap everywhere in the world, but still doesn't seem like you gain much.

Let’s cut to the chase... if we’re getting the A series in the states, we want the hatch! A45 AMG is the coolest hatch out in my opinion. The rest of the A series is nice but doesn’t stand out as much to me styling wise. The interior is where it gets me. I love the mood lighting.

@@Leriut not only sport, but comfort as well. VW even said that the main reason that their cars are fwd is because it's cheaper to make it closer to the engine, but with the comming storm of electrification they'll be able to make them how ever they want.

I was looking forward for this car in the States but with only 306 hp and 295trq it's not worth the money it will be. Course I'm assuming it will flirt around 50k usd...and those specs are just not acceptable for that price. I was hoping for a replacement for my RS but was anticipating the cla35 being around 330ish hp. Seeings how the new CLA45 is expected to have 400hp+ it would have filled the gap before the CLA45 nicely.

Now this is a Bulletproof banana. If you get this car, get it in something close to space grey. I've seen the new A-class hatchback in that color and it looks great Btw, doesn't this compete with the S5 4 door coupe? Since this a coupe thing too... I always thought CLA is just a coupe/sedan version of an A class. It sort of makes sense that A sedan is just an A class in sedan shape and CLA is now a smaller CLS. I personally find CLA much better looking.

Unlike the 1st gen CLA, I am glad MB has made this one - it definitely looks a lot better with the lines flowing much better than on the 1st gen. Mat, I believe it has a "7 speed dual clutch transmission" and not a 7-speed automatic as you mentioned on the video. Would be interested to see if the rear seat room is improved though, before I make a final judgment.

If you want a quick saloon buy a M5 bimma or just get an rs3. These saloons make no sense to me. If you wants a quick car it should be small, light and agile. You should have a work car and a weekend car
